  • Light Painting Tutorial, How To Light Paint an Illuminated Being a.k.a a Light Man
    In this Light Painting Photography tutorial Jason D. Page shows how to create a Light Man, or Woman, using a simple technique and tools from the Light Painting Brushes system. This is a technique that can be done when shooting alone or you can use a model to make it even easier. By simply tracing yourself or your model with light during a long exposure photograph you will leave a illuminated light being imprinted on your film or cameras sensor. An easy technique to help create extraordinary images!

    That was very cool! I had a photographer friend (RIP) who incorporated very subtle light painting into some of his work. I've loved this and wanted to do this ever since I discovered its existence. Can hardly wait to get a new camera since I lost mine in the cockpit of a plane. Thanks for sharing! :-) :-)

      @scottporter4524 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why a cable timer? On bulb mode, YOU are the timer. Only camera equipment that I use is a wireless remote so you don't move/shake the camera once you finish the shot.

    There is a possibility to make the photo over exposure if you take it too long, right?

      Hello Sir, Thank you for your reply. I have Nikon D7200 camera,How long can I take long exposures from this camera?

    • @LightPaintingPhotography

      Gurpreet Gandhi you can shoot in BULB mode with the D7200 and shoot as long as you need to by using a shutter release like these

    What did you do different with second exposure as it looks alot better

    • @LightPaintingPhotography
      @LightPaintingPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure what you mean by 2nd exposure? The images at the end are all about the same settings, some are shorter or longer exposures and different amounts of ambient light from the moon can effect the way they look.

    • @LightPaintingPhotography
      @LightPaintingPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The light is recorded to the camera using long exposure. Shoot on BULB mode if your camera has that setting if not you can use an longer exposure time try something like 30 seconds.

    • @TheGardener54uk
      @TheGardener54uk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok , so u mean record it , OR take a picture ,?? if you take a picture if your in front of the camera how do you press the button , if you are in front of the camera ?? AND whats shoot on bulb mode my camera is a finepix s6500fd can you do it with that kind

    • @LightPaintingPhotography
      @LightPaintingPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A camera is an instrument for recording light so anytime you are taking a picture technically you are recording light. Light Paintings are recorded to the camera during a long exposure. To depress the bottom you can have a friend go with you and press it or if your camera has a timer you could use that, you can use a remote shutter release, you can use an intervalometer there are even apps for your phone that you can use. After reading through the owner manual of your camera it appears you do have a timer on your camera, www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/s/finepix_s6500fd_manual_01.pdf It does not appear that you have a BULB mode on your camera however you do have a manual mode "M" and you can do a long exposure up to 30 seconds. If you are new to light painting you can check out this tutorial here that will show you everything you need to know, lightpaintingbrushes.com/pages/light-painting-instructions most important is just experiment and have fun.

      The bulb function is fully manual, the shutter only stays open for as long as you have your finger on the shutter button. I would recommend a remote release button or intervalometer (specially used in time lapse).

      Use bulb mode. You'll even require a remote sensor

    still dont get it..why the camera didn't capture the human body ? :P slow learner sry.

    • @LightPaintingPhotography
      @LightPaintingPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its because I am wearing dark clothing. The camera will only record the light that it sees.

    • @lm2193
      @lm2193 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      5:45 but your body(ie. leg) was hollow :P it should be dark clothing, right?

    • @LightPaintingPhotography
      @LightPaintingPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its because the bench is illuminated after I have moved. Think of the camera as an instrument for recording light, the camera will record what you illuminate. The leg was dark so nothing was recorded by the camera in that space on the sensor, only the traces of light around the leg. If you then illuminate that space for the camera to record it will make the leg appear hollow.
