Hi Matthew and Jo Jo. Thanks for another great video. I have been waiting for the second part to this. Great tips and thanks for the help to all of the people that are where you were 3-4 years ago. You mentioned in a recent video to give ideas for future videos.I would like the two of you to do one on the best places to donate items not accepted at land fills that you still take because you can get rid of them. I am thinking tires, batteries, A/C units. Anything that has chemicals like oil or freon that makes it difficult to get rid of. If you could include some tips on what places take what for you and how to research items or books you have read that helped in regards to this. Also mention things that you never take due to laws and regulations or they are just too difficult to get rid of. I think this would be a great topic. Thank you both for all you do and congrats on building a great business model.
thank you for watching the videos. the dumps does take those items but they cost to get rid of, when we come across those things we just charge a little extra for them. you can get a print out from your dumps for what things cost ion your area.
Good question, no we don’t, but you could get pretty close with that if you do it right. We are just really good at knowing how much fits in our truck and being able to look at junk and figure how much it will take up by just looking, this gets easier after you do it for awhile
I highly recommend that you guys get a 7.5 cubic ft rubbermaid wheel barrow from home depot. I swear by it when it comes to construction debris and spread out junk.
That wood was not treated.... treating wood impregnates it with some chemicals that change its color and smell. The little dots you described aren't involved with that.
Hey Guys, Great Info. Sorry it's off topic. But I'm in Oklahoma "HUMIDITY CAPITAL" Of the world. What " Breathable" shirts do U recommend ? 2 hrs. And I'm havin' a Heat Stroke. Thanks Again !!
Not sure of the material but the brand is Augusta sportswear, but any breathable sport shirt would work if your putting your logo on yourself. Hope that helps
Here in baltimore MD scrap metal is around $5 per 100lbs on a good day. so thats $100 for 2000lbs. If i can back my truck up to it, ill take it for free on a rare occasion.
Love channel. We’re in SC. Y’all got me excited about starting. What is best size dump trailer to start or do you recommend starting with $25000 used dump truck.
When getting paid for a bid, do you get a deposit for the job, or do you send the customer and invoice and wait for payment. What is the process. Thank you
How long did it take you to complete the big spread out job? You based the price on two full loads. You can do other jobs that are two full loads where all the debris are at the curb which would take half the time. How did you figure the extra time you had for the job?
We don’t charge by how long a job takes we charge by the volume that fills up the truck, that is why we said we charged two full loads. I think that was your question
Where/how do you store the rolling dumpster on/in your truck? When you have a mixed load with scrap metal and other junk how do you load it all to keep from having to pick through at the dump?
Do you have a labor breakdown in your head to use per job? For example two jobs will be a full truck but one job will be 3 hours of labor while the other is 30 minutes.
Good question. Really we charge per load...we have a minimum pickup price for like a single item....we have a quarter load price, half load price and a full load price. If it’s far out we add to it a little for gas...we let the customer know the price and how much room it will take up if they add things we let them know the price will go up. The more you do it the better you get at calculating it in your head.
Sonoma Strong Hauling & Junk Removal Thanks for the response. I’m just starting off in the business, and I wasn’t so sure about using square due to some really negative reviews. Have you encountered any issues with them? Thanks
You guys are awesome man. I'm the guy that spoke with you that used to live in Cali out here in the VA. I appreciate you guys Enlightenment and hope thank you for everything you are really inspiring.
Hello Jojo and Mat .. ! This is again Magic 😊 Thank you for answering my question the other night on your LIVE feed !! ( about buying new or used truck ) Can I ask how big is your dump box that we see here ? Without counting your tool box , how long by how wide is your box to fill up ? 10x 8 x 4 ?? Thank you so much and god bless you both 🙏
Our prices are all inclusive, so we calculate labor, time, dump fees etc...we can load our trailer completely up usually in about 30 minutes or less... Well worth it
No, we do not hire someone. It’s another venture in team work between Matt & I. We both record, Matt does most of the editing, I give creative advice. I often do the thumbnail picture, Matt posts them and I do the titles, description, tags and the promoting of the channel on TH-cam and Instagram. So pretty much like everything else we don’t pay for it.
thats awesome, our only advice would be to start with a truck first and then reinvest into having a dump truck. we didnt start with our dump truck, we started with just a truck, its best to not have payments when you first start just to see how junk removal works in your area. Good luck to you both
Just got my dump trailer 2 days ago I thought you charge per weight. I'm thinking any junk under 1.5 ton is $260 anything over 1.5 ton is extra you have to charge. Also do you charge extra for loading the trailer yourself? Great content bro!

@@SonomaStrong hey brother would a cargo van be better than a truck to pull a trailer. Is there an advantage to a truck or vice versa? I haven't bought anything yet. I didn't know if I could start off with a cargo van for small jobs or if a truck would be better. Thanks for any advice.
you’re saying “charge more if its this, charge more if it’s that” but you’re not actually showing HOW to charge more neither are you giving any sort of price at all for what you’re charging
In junk removal one size doesn’t fit all. Depending on what you are driving and doing the job with. We say you should charge a full load price. You need to come up with what your full load price would be. Are you driving a pickup truck, a truck with a trailer, a small utility trailer or a huge trailer, or maybe a dump truck if so what size is your dump truck? Where do you live? Is it on the east coast or west coast or middle America ? Your population and income in the area you live in will reflect your pricing. How much is it to dump the junk in your area? Some cities it is 30 or 40 a ton, some areas it’s 120 or 140 a ton. All of the answers to these questions will determine your price. Haulers often charge between 30~50 a cubic yard, so you will need to know how many cubic yards your vehicle is. Every area is different, It is often helpful to call a few local business owners in your area to see what they are charging. I would call 1 800 got junk in your area and see what they are charging, that will give you a good starting point. We try to be as helpful as possible in our videos, but we need to stay competitive in our area, we have many subscribers that are in our area that watch our channel and although we give great advice and offer gold nuggets of how to information, it would not be helpful for someone who lives in Nebraska to charge what we do in California. Every state and city will be very different. when it comes to finding the sweet spot of what exactly to charge, that is something each business owner needs to find out through trial and error. You actually charge more by telling the customer the price and saying why you are having to charge that. For example, we are having to use stairs, we have to park the truck far away, they live miles away from the area you service or your having to go through closets and drawers because they didn’t bag stuff up. Etc… You may find this video to be extra helpful. th-cam.com/video/FcLr6DjiGTM/w-d-xo.html

When it's spread out instead of guessing the price I just charge per load!!
awesome videos!! trying to get outta mining and start my own rubbish removal business .cheers from Australia
Hi Australia, That’s awesome, we wish you luck, thanks for watching the videos
How does the dump know if some of your load is treated wood?
You have to tell them what you have
I came across y'all channel today and I seriously went on a binge watch. I'm seriously thinking about quitting my job. I already have a truck 😃.
Thanks for watching the videos
Me too.. I'm not even hauling junk. Very inspiring and entertaining. Great job and good luck.
what is the price per load for regular debris in your dump truck?
great info! Do you ever take special precautions if you're hauling old rehab construction debris that could contain asbestos?
Do y’all haul concrete?
Can the dump trailer handle ?
Tile ?
Yes it can but only up to 2 tons
Definitely inspired me bro. I’m currently at my 9-5 job thinking of the ideas I will do for junk removal ! Thanks bro !!

Sorry I'm new to the page, but what the name of that dump truck?
We got the truck at Monarch. Welcome to the channel.

ours is 130 a ton, so I would price accordingly, you would be a little cheaper than ours.
There in Tennessee at my landfill scrap metal is free too dump
