I had the great fortune of listening to her singing live at her house in Mumbai once when I was a kid. My mother knew the Mrudangam exponent Umyalapuram Shivaraman who took us to the Amonkar house and it was an evening of fantastic music. She almost goes into a trance while singing which I can personally vouch for having seen and heard her live sitting a few feet from her.
wow. you are very lucky. unfortunately, i could not get the chance to listen to her live. Living in the US. I am not sure if ganasaraswathi kishori amonkar ever made a US tour. I was fortunate enough to listen to bharat ratna pundit bhimsen joshi and pundit jasraj live in the US while they were on concert tours. Those were great experiences in shashtriya sangeet that i will never forget. And now, just last year, just recently i have listened to pundit sanjeev abhyankar who is pundit jasraj's student, and pundita ashwini bhide deshpande live in concert. I will never forget these two concerts as well.
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
What a supeficial interview. If you do not have enough time to bring out the personality and talent of the interviewee, you should not take on complex subjects and personalities.
How did I miss knowing more about this genius? I wish I could hear more of her speak about her fascinating insights into music. saddened to hear now that she is no longer here with us. May God give her shanti!
What your mother did was bring a gem which would showcase what the indian classical music is about. we all Indians owe your mother for the training and you for the hard work and what you brought to the new generation. I am in peace with my life that i have heard some of the finest. what a pleasure
kishori tai is right. Music is mediation and devotion. it is towards god. each note or sur that is rendered should be filled with bhakthi and devotion.
This interview just does not go deep enough to demonstrate the true genius of Kishoritai. The intereviewer just runs thru all the questions like a chore he has to complete. They should have used a person who understands classical music.
OMG! There is another interview of Kishori ji that is much better on YT. An interview like this just shows that just because you can talk in English does not mean you have anything worthwhile to say or listen to. If I was her I'd have told him to feck off. kishori ji is seriously pissed off at him. Sad
Great Legend ... Around 30 years a go, I had an audio cassette of Kishoriji singing Bhagavad Gita Slokas followed by hindi translation by a Male artist (don't know the name). I lost that cassette and searching for that audio in any format ever since. I been trying where ever it is possible to get it, but unfortunately have no luck so far. If someone has that cassette or points me to a place from where I can get it, it would be a huge favor. Thanks in advance!
N D TV ,aage kya huwa?cut kyo kiya ,Kishori taiee raag bageshree ke bare me kuch keh rahi thi.Kahi kisi vidwaan ke kahenepar censor to nahi kiya ke aamlog sikh sake !!??
This is what happens when an uninformed interviewer is in the presence of genius. They quickly bring genius to their own level. Insipid questions will only elicit bland responses.
I hearby want to state that kishoriji had got god's gift she was interested in suras only God has committed in his borshon that he can be found only there where the bhaktah are singing
What is it with Indians that they take pride in purposely fake-pronounce names/last names of our own people? Is it really hard to pronounce Aa-moNN-kar as in Marathi? Or Kur-Dee-Kar? Don't we respect our own roots enough to even take efforts to say our names right, when we keep arguing about English/German/French names?

Ideal interviewer who has mastered the art of listening in just the way the interviewee mastered the art of singing.
she is a genius and her music really divine.
I feel when i hear and see किशोरी जी ईश्वरी दर्शन,बस। इस लिये आँसू आ जाती है एक स्वर्गीय दुनिया में खो जाता हूँ।
How did I miss knowing more about this genius? I wish I could hear more of her speak about her fascinating insights into music. saddened to hear now that she is no longer here with us. May God give her shanti!
Oh god!! Just when it was getting even more interesting…and they cut the interview.
How wonderful and enriching.

I don't know why you all are disrespectful toward the interviewer. They are unknown to her hard work, her talent. It is not his fault
Anmol Sachdeva he don’t understand her level..
What a loss that I came to know her after 5 years of her death.
Pranaams to the Legend!!😊😊
Problem when the interviewer doesn't have an inkling on the subject in which the interviewee is an expert.
Naman, Kishori Tai.🙏🙏
🙏
Kishori-ji seems to have a distinct German-accent. She sounds like a German speaking English !

This guy is going through his question by rote. Nothing interactive about this interview. what a pity.

Tell me 3 questions you would've asked her.
This is why she hated being interviewed.
