The first target with the SKS Match ammo was all you could ask for, could've been covered by a nickel. I've got to try some of that SKS ammo the next time the Creedmoor folks say they've got it in stock. Your rifle/scope combo didn't hurt. Great video!
Just picked up my Vudoo Apparition (MPA Chassis) from the FFL on Thursday. Friday morning I spent some quality time on the range testing ammo. Did not get around to the SK or RWS ammo. My rifle liked Center-X followed by Polar Biathlon, Eley Team, and Midas+. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to video production, editing, and posting.
My vudoo liked the sk long range over the Midas + but as you know, lot # can affect the precision as well, wish I ordered more than 1k. Couldn’t find any sk long range in stock so I ordered a bit of center x to see how that performs.
@@robertwatson818 - Is my Vudoo Apparition heavy? One would say that is subjective depending upon your definition. After shooting Ruger 10/22, Savage Mark II, and Sig 522.. yes the Vudoo is significantly heavier. I have not officially weighed my rifle but I would say it is around 17 lbs. PS - After ammo testing everything under the sun, my Vudoo stacks the RWS 50 ammo. More specifically it likes the 1096 FPS batches better. The weight is not a problem in benchrest, but slinging it around in an NRL22 match can be a pain sometimes.

Just remember no two batches are alike. A different batch from the same ammo company might produce different results. Constant experimentation is necessary. Good luck; stay on course.
Nice shooting! I like SK ammo too. Just wondering, since making this video have you tried single (hand) feeding each round instead of using the mag? For me it works better/more accurately because then there's 0 chance of the bullet deforming. All the best, thanks for sharing!
I have not hand fed rounds through the rifle…. Positional shooting is more the discipline that I prefer…but you are right …. chances of bullet deformity is 0 if I hand fed the rounds… thanks for watching…
Quite honestly....I wanted to see the range (distance) you were shooting for these groups. Not taking anything away from the Vudoo rifles.... BUT....my modified Savage MKII FV, heavy barrel does nearly as well at 50 yds, using Wolf MT. Same?...no. But VERY, VERY close?....yes.
First group was @ 50yds... second group @ 100yds... I agree about rifles... there are factory off the shelf rifles that shoots as well as the Vudoo’s but for me... I wanted a rifle that has the same form factor as my center fire rifles..
@@socalplinker ..no doubt the Vudoo or Anschutz are better made and make for more pride of ownership. I own both low and high end guns...and the Savage was a special project of mine to see how "good" I can get this rifle to be, with the least $ expenditure.....took some time.....but it's been good so far. Projects never end....you know?
Thank you . I’m getting ready to order my vudoo and have been debating on the 18 or 20 inch . I really like the looks of the 18 inch better and from what I’ve researched there’s no difference between 18 and 20 inch on accuracy
@@miketokar9010 the only thing I would consider is the balance of the rifle... with some chassis system you can add weights to balance the rifle so barrel length isn’t an issue but if you are using a stock, going longer on barrel may balance better...
I still think Center X is more consistent.... but if I had a hard time finding it... I would definitely consider SK Rifle Match....not to mention that the point of impact and point of aim were identical in My rifle between the two ammo..
@@extractpaintball6721 - CCI was all over the board through my Vudoo. However, each barrel is different. What one likes the next off the production line might not like. That is what makes ammo testing so exhaustive.
Unfortunately at the time of the video I did not own a chronograph... maybe I can re-visit this ammo and run it thru a chronograph that I recently purchased...
@@socalplinker thanks for your response I just got some SK .22 just like the one you have from Midway USA (500) round and the spec says it’s a subsonic round that is 955 FPS but the sound coming out seems to be a lot louder then 955 FOS as they stated but anyway I will try it out on my CZ 455 lux this weekend, your video is very helpful and I appreciate you putting it up.
i cant say anything negative about the accuracy of those guns, but i do absolutely hate that theyre trying to pretend to bigger guns with those awful mags.
To be true, those mags are mostly for stability in the mag well, and they also fit the rem 700 chassis with pretty much no adjustments because of those mags being aics pattern

My Volquartzen loves the accuracy but it doesn't run well.
I would contact Volquartzen to see which springs, for the bolt, that they would recommend for SK ammo so that it can cycle the bolt reliably ..
You might get better accuracy with proper front rest

I would also like to see CCI standard velocity I heard people getting good results with it. I can’t seem to find any in stock though.
