    I learned so many skills from my Father just like this. I still use them today. I just fixed my TCL TV with this same issue. I plan to use the old working LEDs for some other project.

    I purchased a TCL TV for a guest bedroom. It was used maybe 15 hours total. I recently noticed that it would not turn on. The display is black. I contacted TCL and they said too bad, the warranty has expired. I have a big screen LCD TV from another well-known manufacturer that has been heavily used and is more than 10 years old. I also have several LCD monitors a well-known manufacturer which are more than 10 years old. None of these ever had a single problem. Anything that looks too good to be true probably is. You get what you pay for. If you're looking for a TV that will last, don't get a TCL TV. They are cheap garbage and TCL doesn't stand behind them.

      That’s because of the difference between LCD and LED. We have a 12 year old LCD tv that still works. These LED tvs are flawed because they use led bulbs as a backlight. Once on bulb burns out all of them go out because of how they’re all wired together resulting in a tv with sound but a black screen. The only way to fix it is to buy another tv, pay to get it fixed, or fix it yourself.

    Have to ask this as a tech to tech question. I just repaired one of these with the exact same issue. Unfortunately, as ridiculously meticulous I was, after almost 40 minutes of putting panel back into position making sure it was not hanging up anywhere, a small crack happened in the lower left corner when I stood TV up & turned it on. 😳 Talk about being pissed!! 🤬 Has this ever happened to you? Do you assume liability or do you have the customer release you from the liability due to the high risk of cracking a panel? An expensive lesson this time around. 😖

    • @SOSfixElectronics
      @SOSfixElectronics  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes it happened to me before. i think the corned was over the plastic edge, yes i always tell the customer about the screen risk before i do the work

      @@SOSfixElectronics I still have the TV, I'm going to do an 'autopsy' to see if I can determine what happened. Do you still assume responsibility if it cracks or do you tell them you are not liable for it if it happens? I ended up comping the customer because I didn't have them sign any kind of liability release and everyone is sue crazy these days, I didn't want it to end up in a legal situation and I felt really bad. I'm just not sure how other techs handle that part of the business but I am seriously considering drafting a release of liability form. Having had it happen to you, you know how upsetting it can be when you are extra careful and it still happens.

      @@electronicrepairservice2020 i warn the customer about the risk for any repair, specially about the backlight, i m not liable for anything happening during or after the repair, i don't let the customer think about " you touch it you marry to it "

    I'm on my second TCL Roku tv and its got the black screen problem again...powers up and did all the TH-cam fixes but this time nothing works to solve the problem. The first TCL roku tv I had lost its brightness on the sides and kept brightness in the middle of the picture. NO MORE TCL CHINESE TV'S FOR ME!!!!!!! I FEEL SCAMMED AGAIN 😠😠
