Incredible how Frankie, turns this Jim Reeves gentle ballad, into a heart wrenching , rhythm and blues, soulful , heart-breaking classic. Amazing voice, and talent.
Had a drink with him in Heathrow Airport. Then sat beside him on the flight to Glasgow absolute great guy he was just like the guy in just a boys game.i was so upset when I heard about his illness.he likely won't remember me , but I won't forget him.
Paul Rogers was the man with the voice - then someone said to me "Have you heard a guy called Frankie Miller?" I said no - he gave me an album to listen to - hooked!!!! Frankie - a living legend - total legendary - what a gift to us!!! Thanks Frankie . . .
@@savedandblessed79 I just discovered Frankie & immediately loved his soulful heartfelt singing & stage presence. He has something real special, a lot like my favorite singer, Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. Of course, all the Gibb brothers are really great too.
This song blew me away! Memories of my childhood with my Uncles favourite Jim Reeves, but how can he make that same song this incredible! A "Rare Hidden Gem!"
@@alistairewen9558 I always think that it's natural, to the Scots and Irish, and that the American soul, gospel and country boys got their sound and phrasing from us. The thing about Frankie is just how much better he was 'live'. First heard him with The Deljaks, round about 1965. Still my all-time favourite singer - up there with any American 'great'.
There is no amount of money that can buy this kind of talent ...and still has that sparkle in his eyes and that cheeky look on his face ...A fighter and a scrapper he is ..One of a kind ...Legend ...Frankie Miller ,,Brilliant .
I bought $80 worth of his vinyl from Recordland, ecstatic and now I have hours of listening pleasure! None of these albums have this on it, my favourite song of his.
Remember this well. "Gastank" with Tony Ashton and Rick Wakeman. This was round about the time my parents were runnin a pub in Hampstead, and Frankie and Tony were regulars. Frankie got up and sang this wiyh my ol man one night. Great guy, and best singer/songwriter ever
He came into the Twa Dugs in Ayr 2 months back and listened to the Thursday Guitar circle and enjoyed it so much he stayed an extra week and popped in again and again. Music is a great therapy... I’ll never forget the bass player(Stevie) whispering that’s Frankie Miller as we were playing Dirty Old Town!!! Great days.
Frankie's always been one of the very best!!!!!! Ain't no doubt!!!!! Unfortunately he had a stroke quite some years ago now and he has since not been able to play or sing again!!! Only thing left is his legacy! Check it out! So many good songs and music. Hats off Frankie, thanks for the music
Frankie, I first heard you as a kid, You're an unrecognised genius. I love your music, always will. It's a boys game was alright too. from Belfast with love. x
Sheer class,. I remember Billy Connelly opening the new Jock Stein stand at Celtic park,( playing Sporting Lisbon) and Introducing Frankie who was with him that day. I was on my feet in seconds for that applause.

What a talent, best ever for me ,love it,sad to find out that he had a healthy is in the end,not surprise me because the way he sing,no one can sing so hard ,he hurt himself by entertaining us,r we guilty, I feel so.
Only Frankie Miller could take a Jim Reeves country song and make it into a soul classic, what a voice/songwriter . Can anyone update me on his health nowadays ?.
Great song & performance! Love this version - he always sings from the heart. I saw him live in early 70's - unforgetable performer! Hope you're ok Frankie?
Soul/Blues in America comes from History - Soul/Blues in Glasgow comes from too many years of abusing the Bottle, hurting yourself, Friends and especially family/Loved ones - then feeling crap about it later. Thats why we have had quite a few great Soul/Blues singers - Maggie Bell - Alex Harvey etc etc - But 'Wee Frankie fae Brig'ton' is the Best -- eat yer heart out Rod Stewart
Soul/blues in America comes from the Scots and the Irish - as does country. Not always to do with abusing the bottle, either. Frankie wrote 'I Can't Change It' when he was 12 - I don't think that even a Brigton boy was on the bottle at that age. Maggie was never a drinker, in her KP Rambler days and not much of one, in Stone the Crows times.
Great wee glesga hard man . Watch the film " just a boys game". My favourite line in the film is " mccafferty, yer teas oot" class actor and fabulous singer. Sad what happened to him , hes still an icon in Scotland
Wit can a say Frankie boy. ma wee maw used sing this when she came in from watching you live in Glasgow. god bless you. I am singing your stuff now, and singing other songs in your attitude. x
As a young DJ, many many moons ago Frankie Miller did a gig at our club. I was asked by the record co guy (think it was Roger) to provide the lighting, so did the light show for the gig. We all went back to the hotel after, completely arse-holed. Got the management to open the bar for us. Frankie had his guitar with him, and whilst arse-ing about, he passed me the guitar. Whilst trying to play a note on it, i snapped 2 of the strings! I was horrified, & got ready for a "Glasgow kiss". Frankie just laughed his bollocks off. Even though this was well over 50yrs ago, you just don't forget some things. Frankie.....You legend!
Hey Frankie fancy coming back hame and standing for First Minister, you would sort the old Country and put us back on our feet, just love ya❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
