      They can't be moved so harder to grief and possibly with added hp and small arms resistance (anything below 12.7mm) against partisans. That extra reach on those cranes would be glorious while handling containers.

      @@anhduc0913 Seaports and depots already exist in the game in strategic places. There is no meaning in puting one next to another. You could add extra cranes to them when a BB is built nearby. And like i said player made depots built all around the map would be too OP and lose it's importance and strategic depht to it.
      What i'd like to see however is the same cranes freely built around resource fields, mines... wherever, making ad hoc ports even more viable.

    Our little logi squad of 15-20 people did something similar on the west side of the map in Speaking Woods for a while. Not on this scale because we kept it in house but everything we cook with the scrap we throw in public stockpiles. Between the 2 ports Wardens can basically have anything they want anywhere. Our last count was 217 freighters of fully cooked supplies sent out to public stockpiles this war and we've probably tacked a few more on since then. I've probably harvested a few million scrap just by myself this war. FOR CALLAHAN! xD

  • @GargoyleZoo
    @GargoyleZoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +74

    Well, I don't know if this will be helpful but since this is the kind of thing I do for fun, I sat down and did some research and math. A reddit thread from a guy claiming to be a full-time scrapper for the collie's stated that his one-day record for scrap was ~100000 scrap processed. No other details were provided, so I made some assumptions. I figure that this was an ideal or as close to ideal as possible scrapping route he was taking. 10 hours doesnt seem to be an unreasonable length of time for him to have played (if he played longer, the per hour amounts get worse, shorter=better, etc.) I'm also assuming that he was just scrapping and transporting the scrap to a refinery, no other logi tasks. I also rounded a bit. Crunching the numbers (660000/((100000/10)x2)), we see that, in order to match Port Tabasco in conventional logi would require ~33 veteran scrappers working full-tilt on an ideal scrapping ground. Granted, these are very rough numbers but it does give a ballpark figure for the comparison. Signed, a procrastinating sociologist

      @ISawABear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      nah dude i love internet math!

    • @GargoyleZoo
      @GargoyleZoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Given that ~50 people were involved and it sounds like the majority were relatively new players, if my numbers are anywhere in the vicinity of correct, this would represent a MASSIVE increase in the raw scrap per player-hour a logistics group could process, to say nothing of the downstream and miscellaneous benefits. Well done, Tabasco!

    • @GargoyleZoo
      @GargoyleZoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Also, interestingly, the port processed in 2 hours, enough materials to handle the Warden casualties for the entire warfront for an entire day.

      Yes. We set it up, prestocked it and advertised it. Gave it the name to troll the original inventor of it. But now he is one of the most famous wardens.
      Once FMAT joined in and we made it public it became bigger and bigger.

    This is what I love about sandbox games in general; give them the freedom and you just never know what players will come up with next. But if common logi becomes a cultural shift for both factions, I'd love to see how it impacts future wars.

    • @shacklock01
      @shacklock01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Common public logi used to be the meta. Itd be nice to see it return (still need operational stockpiles aswell ofc)

      @brendanmcculloch2406 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is where this is useful. Wardens are finally learning the usefulness of public logi. The getting 50 people to do the work of 30 isn't some great achievement

    • @Andragil717
      @Andragil717 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you really can scrap around 10 containers worth of salvage (and deliver it to a refinery too?) in an hour you are a god. This operation was run by dozens of people. In the stress stest potentially 50+ of them. 1 salvage field/hour is not bad either way if you only filled the containers on site and let others delivering them.
      What makes this crazy is the ability to get containers of scrap in bulk to the backline regions with a refinery and factories on an easily navigable waterway with a couple of freighters in no time at all. In a 5 salvage, 4 component fields, 2 salvage and 2 component mines hex with no refinery around. Imagine the time not wasted on the road delivering containers 1 by 1.
