Will this help my 6 year son recognize balls and strikes for pee wee kid pitch? Bc my concern is the inconsistency when kids his age pitch...they are all over the place then all of the sudden he gets a strike or gets hit Bc he can’t recognize what he’s seeing. Thanks for any advice.
My girl is 8 and scared to death of getting hit. She just had her 1st season of kid pitch. When a coach or I pitch to her she stays in and smashes the ball but in a game when a girl is pitching to her she doesn't know she always steps out. Seems like a trust thing more than a fear thing... How do I get her past this??
Sorry for the late reply! I'm just now seeing this. It sounds counterintuitive, but I would actually throw her BP and mix in strikes with pitches where you throw at her. Do this with softer balls obviously (such as tennis balls or foam balls). This will teach her not to be afraid of the ball. Once you learn how to roll with the pitch and properly get hit by tucking your front shoulder down and in towards the catcher, you'll realize that it doesn't hurt that much and you'll be more confident. In my experience that's what has helped players in similar situations the most!

It is a good one of a kind guide for learning pitch recognition to master absolute pitch and relative pitch minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my work buddy at last got cool success with it.

Do you think arm speed matters for velocity?
Yes, I think it plays a role but I'm a firm believer that we throw from the ground up. Your big muscles matter more than your arm speed.
