Rick I think I heard you say that the Acer spin 311 has built-in Wi-Fi. So that means that I don't have to log on to an internet service provider. How do I activate the onboard Wi-Fi for the spin 311 so I can get online. I know nothing about Chromebooks so whatever help you can give me will be appreciated. Hello, apologies for any confusion; this device has wifi built in, which allows you to connect to an internet provider; this requires you to connect either to your home internet connection or another connection in a shop or other places.
love my chromebook. was cheap, small, fast. No hassles like windows. but, they only offer updates for a short period of time. Not sure how this will effect me, when it is out of updates.

Hi, so I tested this all the time for two months, it worked great for document work, web browsing and general day to day use, anything more than that I will return to my MacBook Pro.

I have this chromebook and love everything about it...except it constantly freezes! I can't return it because it has been over 30 days. Acer wants me to ship it to them at my expense. I have powerwashed and rebooted and it still continues. So frustrating!

This device works well, but it doesn't have windows 10, & my mums does hers cost more than mine $410 & hers is a Acer, with windows 10 which it came with🤔💭, but now my problem I'm having is how do U stop device management 🙄 from filling up, & by the way I got mine for $247, so yes it's a good product but my problem is, if the device management 🙄 gets too full what will happen to my device🤷♂️...

I shouldn't think so. This is a Chromebook i.e. it runs web applications AND THAT'S ALL so no downloading non-chrome applications. Chromebooks are excellent devices though. I'e had one for years and have had no problems at all. No need for updates, no need for a virus scanner. They just work.

While I like the Chromebook for it ability to update with little or no grief, it still cannot stand a candle next to a Windows machine. First and Foremost Microsoft Word just acts wonky on Chrome! There are no two ways about it! I also type in Hebrew, Russian, & Greek. There is no way to add Greek diacritical marks, even if there is a Greek alphabet. I don't know if adding Hebrew diacritical marks are even possible, even if there is a Hebrew Alphabet. If you are typing for Biblical Hebrew, diacritical marks are crucial; these are not necessary with writing Hebrew Text for letters, essays, novels, etc.. Second, accessing email ends up being wonky as well; you cannot replicate the Windows email service on Chrome in the same way that you can on Windows Edge. I have the Chrome for its flexibility and it usefulness; but it is simply not up to the task for extensive work using Word that Windows offers.

Regarding the AMD v Intel versions, both called the Spin 311, both recently released. They both are pretty much the same performance. The NX.GV2EK.001- is silver with cross hair finish. The other one NX.HBREK.002 is black and ruggedized.

Depends on your DVD drive having a USB output then you should be able to connect it to the Acer.

This chromebook doesn't support a stylus. Only the Education version support a EMR stylus.

I shouldn't think so. This is a Chromebook i.e. it runs web applications AND THAT'S ALL so no downloading non-chrome applications. Chromebooks are excellent devices though. I'e had one for years and have had no problems at all. No need for updates, no need for a virus scanner. They just work.

Hi, yes you can use a soft touch pen with a rubber tip as I had a stylus that worked for me during my review.

While I like the Chromebook for it ability to update with little or no grief, it still cannot stand a candle next to a Windows machine. First and Foremost Microsoft Word just acts wonky on Chrome! There are no two ways about it! I also type in Hebrew, Russian, & Greek. There is no way to add Greek diacritical marks, even if there is a Greek alphabet. I don't know if adding Hebrew diacritical marks are even possible, even if there is a Hebrew Alphabet. If you are typing for Biblical Hebrew, diacritical marks are crucial; these are not necessary with writing Hebrew Text for letters, essays, novels, etc.. Second, accessing email ends up being wonky as well; you cannot replicate the Windows email service on Chrome in the same way that you can on Windows Edge. I have the Chrome for its flexibility and it usefulness; but it is simply not up to the task for extensive work using Word that Windows offers.

This is the old version of the acer spin 311 btw, the 2019 version has an intel processor not AMD

Is it fast enought with google apps? How is the battery?
Regarding the AMD v Intel versions, both called the Spin 311, both recently released. They both are pretty much the same performance. The NX.GV2EK.001- is silver with cross hair finish. The other one NX.HBREK.002 is black and ruggedized.
