When I first heard this cover, I listened to it several times and then I had to listen to the original because I could not figure out why Mayu wanted to be a lobster. I learned she was meaning rockstar but Japanese have a hard time with R's so often replace with L. Still love it and it just makes the song more interesting to me.
Honestly, I was a little slow to warm up to their covers. I’m now a big fan of them for all the reasons you mentioned. Granted I still prefer their originals, but the covers are seriously good. Speaking of Tamu-San, I’ve never seen her sad aside from a few Life reactions. I’m sure she has her, “off periods,” we all do. However, she never brings it to her performances. Frankly, I really look up to her (slight height and age pun), as a person to emulate in my daily life. Incredibly charismatic and talented person.
