Graham I’m going to need a new shelving unit by March with all these amazing preorders. The Single Pressing issue is a recent addition to the boutique arsenal for whipping up FOMO. For those collectors who have the fortitude and levelheaded nature not to care about Limited Editions, Slipcovers and other superfluous paraphernalia, now have this to consider.
No clue about any of these films but given the Radiance track record I'm sure they'll all be great and they certainly all sound interesting and intriguing. I have no idea how im going to afford all this cool stuff coming out but I'll certainly be doing my best to grab them all!
@@manvfilm yeah. My collection is taking ages to re-organise. I've moved everything to the front room so I'm getting there but it's a big job. Need a whole house just got physical media !
I've only seen Suzhou River, which is great (but not as great as Wong Kar-wai), and Tony Arzenta, which is good (it was or is on Netflix by the way - at least in Germany). The other two are looking very interesting.
These all sound barry which i say every month with Radiance but i think this might be bundle purchase month. Probably should have held off on the indicator bundle pre order in retrospect
@@manvfilm😂 the larger problem is all the releases before then coming out but I guess if I'm not getting those as bundles I can wait till they're out. I think there is 2 titles every month I want up till the latest announced releases.
They sound great. But I'm sticking to my new collecting rules. No preorders. Well, I'm allowing for 2 preorders for 2024. But that's just for the exception to the rule. I really burned myself last year with the preorder curse. So as much as I would like to jump on these I'm waiting on reviews. This is not going to be easy😅
I 2nd that. Watched it on The Criterion Channel. Guess I won't be able to get this Region B edition though-don't have a region free player...yet. The directors' other feature Saturday Fiction is also excellent.
As a fan of Criterion releases and their 4K transfer quality, I see Radiance films listing their transfers as new restoration or a simply HD transfer. As I’ve never purchased a Radiance Blu-ray, how do you rate their quality?
not quite, but since all the radiance published movies i own are exclusive to them it's difficult to compare. i'd say the two share a high level of consistency in quality across titles, which is not the case with Arrow, Severin and at times Eureka
I’m wondering about Suzhou River and Tony Arzenta. Most of the films in the sale that I’d want I’ve already got, apart from Hot Spot, which now doesn’t have the booklet, sadly. Radiance are probably my Label of the Year. Other labels have released good stuff but been rather more variable, I’m afraid, or stupidly expensive because of trinkets. These limited run releases are a poor idea, but I suppose cost less to the labels. It just promotes FOMO, but gives a poorer service to the public, while upping the resale market, which doesn’t help anyone but the scalpers. Sad.
From what I can gather it’s the only way they can license the film. So I guess a limited release is better than none. They are also transparent about the release and amount so I guess it’s the best of a bad situation.

It’s a genius, or evil step, in the FOMO evolution. If you don’t get it now you’ll never get it. Surprised we’re all not buying multiple copies.
Bought the bundle the other day. They all sound great but agreed The Bounty Hunter Trilogy is the standout. Im a sucker for a samurai flick.
Cannot wait to delve into this set.

Money is the issue, along with space.

We both know that you’re gonna get both sets of releases

Suzhou River is wonderful
Glad to hear it.

The Bounty Hunter is a given.

honestly pretty good, amongs the best i own

Criterion and Radiance are the only butiques i buy eye closed without waiting for reviews, they never let me down yet
I’ve never encountered any that I’ve thought weren’t great. You can buy with confidence.
