If you cut the trace to pin 19 of 315-5216 ic then add a wire from pin 19 to the IORQ# pad on the FM board you can enable Japanese FM mode & see the consoles screen light up saying MARK III & even change some title screens like Aztec Adventurs becomes Nazca '88 depending on region selected.
Ahhh the Master System. I was a Sega kid. Once I saw Rocky on display at Macy's I was hooked. Phantasy Star is the highlighted memory of my Sega Master System years. Great work as usual George.
you probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Reece Ariel I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks so much, i’m glad that you’re enjoying it and hopefully it is helpful if you decide to ever modify a console! The expo is awesome and hopefully you can make it to the next one!
After hearing the Space Harrier theme built-in to the BIOS of some Japanese consoles compared to the same SMS BIOS running on a Mega Everdrive Pro with FM sound, I gotta say: It was COMPLETELY different. The Mega ED Pro wasn’t even close. Considering it isn’t the original FM chip in this mod kit, do you have any clue how this compares?
That is a really good question and I actually don’t know the answer! I need to get some recordings of what the original FM chip sounds like. My understanding is that this chip is a modern re-creation of it but I can’t be sure of how accurate it is
For what it's worth, this addon can easily be removed to return a system to its stock condition. Non-destructive mods are always the way to go in my opinion.

All hail console modding, especially no cut mods. I for one, look forward to getting an FM kit for my model 1 SMS, which already has the region switch mod and the Everdrive.
First console released by Sega in the United States. In Japan, sg-1000 and Mark III have been released previously.
The SG1000 never got released in the US, it was the SMS for the US. The SG1000 only released in JP, AU and TW.

@Reece Ariel It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Kannon Braylon no problem =)
I love that you tend to avoid adding holes.
yeah, i really prefer not messing with the shell of the console so that it looks original on the outside
I just wanted to say thank you for your content. Really enjoying it. I hope to get to your con one day!

Lol it’s true. At some point soon I will upgrade to a better camera
Great work man! You make all this look too easy.
Amazing Work!!!!!
The FM chip is a must have for any Master System fan.
Agreed! I love the fm music for a lot of those games

First system.... And the SG1000 weeps.
The SG1000 never came to the USA or Europe. It’s the first Sega console in Japan but not here
But where I can buy the yamaha chip for master system?
It comes with the sms fm board from Tim Worthington. Thankfully, you don’t have to worry about finding it on your own
Do you sell just the kit for his? I can install myself :)
You can get it directly from Tim Worthington's website
@ does this mod work an X7 everdrive? Or only with actual cartridges?
Sega master has L/R composite video cable?
It uses the same composite video cable as a model one Genesis, and it has mono sound only
I just wish someone knew how to do this mod for a sega genesis.
Just use a Power Base Mini FM
@@AceTrainerX3 or a Mega Everdrive X7 or Pro
just remove regulator with a switching one there will be no heat
Definitely a nice idea
Yeah I failed this mod :(
Sorry to hear that, hopefully you can get it repaired
Leave my baby alone....
