This is one of my favorite songs from this band as I think of being in a village in a faraway land. This band can truly bring fairytales to life ...just with her voice and the awesome instruments. I hope to see you all live one day. I know it will be an amazing experience. Please keep the wonderful amazing music coming....Love you all from Hawaii.
purple, rainbow, the clock dose tick on... and the music just gets better.... tis my thanks to you mr. blackmore..... thank you for the music...==}} if you love good music then you will understand my comment==}}
Wonderful song, and especially this performance! :öD Also have to second Molaki55, Candice really is a treat to behold, and the medieval style apparel suiting her well :ö)
This number was composed in 1551 as part of Tielman Susato's Danserye suite of six dances. Susato was born in Soest (Germany) and worked in Antwerp (Flanders).
As the wind chimes play along the breeze Singing songs to stir the soul, Rainbow colours entwined in fairytales On the maypole... Sing the song of lands from far away, Other times and another place, The wind can carry us all away from here Charmed in her embrace... Leaves turn to red, the nights are getting colder, Seasons will change, the clock ticks on... Leaves fill the trees as the days are getting warmer, Days turn to years, the clocks ticks on... A cloak and dagger, no fear of freedom When hearts beat in another time, Ever changing, the clock ticks on, If only in your mind... The wind has died and the chimes are still again The trees stand tall as they cover me in shade In the mirror a maiden stares at me As the secret fades... And though the clock ticks on to the future It's in the past my heart will stay In a time so far away from me I'll return someday...
.....Somebody here might be able to help me, does anybody know the name of the music video where Ritchie Blackmore is being driven in an old English car in the back seat, and there's also a guy riding a motorcycle in sort of a chase in the video....??I saw it 1 or 2 times , & cannot for the life of me remember the name, or find it doing a search....!! HELP, LOL, HUGE Blackmore fan, "Highway Star" is 1 of the reasons I started studying playing guitars in 1975, & still play today...!! 5/31/13..//
If you haven't found it yet, it's "Les Quatre Bransles" also known as "Bransles Quatre Bransles" by Tielman Susato ("bransles" is sometimes spelled "branles" and "Tielman" is sometimes spelled Tylman).
TemporalParallax Thanks a lot! So it is a dance originally :) Renaissance and Medieval music reinterpretation it's so fascinating in my opinion. Although I usually tend to prefer the original version I shall say in this case I really like this one rather then the original, it seems more rich musically talking then the original version (at least the ones I listened on youtube). I don't know if you're in this kind of music also, just in case, to pay back your help, i'll suggest you this Italian singer that use to play that kind of music either: he's called Angelo Branduardi :) Thanks a lot anyway
Nothingman I agree, most other versions lack the vigour and energy that Blackmore gives it. I listened to Angelo Branduardi and I really like his interpretations, thanks!
I thank my dad for getting me into Blackmore’s Night and songs like this!

this has to be one of the best song they perform live!
The part when the guest musicians (german band "the geyers") come to join in still gives me chills. I like this version way better than the album one.
Yes same especially with the use of the hurdy gurdy! I
A very beautiful song. Thank you for sharing. Blessed Be.
I have just listened to their new album "Autumn Sky". Absolutely superb.
Wonderful song, and especially this performance! :öD

I Love it!!!!
Now this is music
superbe chanson!!!!
Beauty at it's Best!
So nice the Hurdy Gurdy sound!!!
As the wind chimes play along the breeze
Singing songs to stir the soul,
Rainbow colours entwined in fairytales
On the maypole...
Sing the song of lands from far away,
Other times and another place,
The wind can carry us all away from here
Charmed in her embrace...
Leaves turn to red, the nights are getting colder,
Seasons will change, the clock ticks on...
Leaves fill the trees as the days are getting warmer,
Days turn to years, the clocks ticks on...
A cloak and dagger, no fear of freedom
When hearts beat in another time,
Ever changing, the clock ticks on,
If only in your mind...
The wind has died and the chimes are still again
The trees stand tall as they cover me in shade
In the mirror a maiden stares at me
As the secret fades...
And though the clock ticks on to the future
It's in the past my heart will stay
In a time so far away from me
I'll return someday...
muito louco. o final foi uma verdadeira festa!
The clock ticks on for another year. Happy solstice all. :o)

wonder who is remembering in these days
What genre is this masterpiece considered?
It might be qualified as neo-medieval :)
What the hell happened with Ritchie, I just don't get it! :(
What is that instustment, Rickie plays at the begging?
Draya Blackhawk hurdy gurdy
Anyone knows what's the name of the original medieval or renaissance song that inspired this one?
