Jake and Marks relationship was so authentic. When Jake’s wife died Mark took care of him. Jake Hess was so awesome. Such a lovable man. He sang with the group the Statesmen for decades. He’s one of Bills heroes.

David Phelps is one of the best tenors on earth. He sang with the GVB for years. He’s in his mid 50s and still crushing it for Jesus. He also sings with his two daughters. Check him out.

I have watched almost every Gaither Homecoming Video since 1993 and have cried many times as I watch the greats like Jake Hess pass away. I am so thankful Bill Gaither allowed us to learn about and hear these amazing singers.
