who’s your tuner ?? i’d expect more power from that awesome set up you have. Many of my friends are admin tuned with just test pipes and exhaust making 264 wheel on a de non rev up. I feel that a better tuner could bring 20+ hp. You’re car is absolutely sick no hate in just trying to have you making the most power you can :)))
There is a guy in Poland who the one, who made pretty much all of the best VQ35/VQ37 in Poland. He has some very nice stroker kits in house which make abou 4.3 litres. His best N/A 350Z made about 400 whp. Check him out, guy's a blast. Coobcio Garage.
Sounds like you're doing a full build of the motor? Run pistons with valve relief for sure. If you're staying on a stock motor you might want to consider cams with less lift. Consult with a reputable engine builder, preferably on the VQ, to be sure. While you're in there, do your gallery gaskets and all timing components, tensioners, fresh water pump, pathfinder coolant mod, and a good oil cooler.
are those cams plug&play? not need to change pistons or do something to avoid touching the valves? i remember something about that with the tomeis 272. pretty nice car men, thats what i wish to do with mine
Raul Carmona you’ll want to be aware of the lift, not necessarily the duration (272). These have 10.5mm I’d lift, which was what Tomei recommended for stock pistons. Some people run a higher lift, but I just went with the recommendation.

hi iam willing to order these cams but i want to know if i must order solid lifter set with it or it will work fine . iam ordering cams and tomei springs but iam curios should i order the solid lifters as well with it so it can work perfect ?
Original dyno untuned was around 245whp back in the day. With exhaust, intake, and tune it took it to around 275whp. Cams and associated support mods took it to 304whp. Cams added another 30 or so and drastically changed the power curve.
For a DE I think the highest I recall seeing was somewhere around 320whp. Built motor and still a single throttle body. ITBs probably would push it higher.
I’m at 160k in my HR and have been thinking about what I want to do engine wise down the road as i never plan on selling it. I’m thinking full bolts, cams, slightly higher compression & sown other stuff since I want to keep it NA for the touge. This helps a lot!
if the motor ever craps out, me personally after all the money it took to keep it N/A compared to the horse power gained... i love my z, even when it was stock it was fun, and my motor was so low mileage (18k) that i decided to go full bolt ons also. id rebuild for a lower compression motor and add boost. probably cost same or less, and you can control the amount of HP you really want. but much respect for keeping her all motor also man. just depends on how happy you are with 300 ballpark at most N/A depending on model. keep that Z rollin either way man!

@@forzadrifter8840 I can’t really answer that for you man, if you research it and keep it mild I would say pull the trigger and boost it, but get familiar with the proper extra maintenance intervals and follow them strictly . But if you plan to really try and push it, I’d do it down the road after you get a lot of miles and fun out of it first 🤷♂️ really just comes down to how much and how hard you are on it once it’s boosted, and how well do you keep up on the extra love she will now require. 40k is a very low mile car, and could potentially last you years, or we could blow it up tomorrow lol I’m also conflicted with this same situation cause mine has not rolled over 20k miles yet. If this was a high mileage car, I probably wouldnt be as concerned about accelerating the process a bit so I could build it correctly for application of boost. Good luck bro, keep the dream alive

Soon, I think I want to have the car running around 400whp with full bolt ons and a small turbo. And I do want to go full send, but you're right, since this is a very low mile car it would be smart to have some fun and experience what the car was supposed to be about when it was manufactured. Depends on your long term goals. HR is a strong platform that can handle some power on a stock block. I argue that either one is a good choice, just depends on budget and what you’re wanting to do
I mean there are options to add the vq37 Crank and Rods with the hr pistons; it sounds crazy and I haven't seen numbers but if you're willing to try that it could be an interesting endeavour
@@cainadkins3985 Because the 3.7 crank and rods are significantly cheaper (Something like $4k cheaper?) and since it uses the same block, it can hold 550-600 whp on those internals, for someone not wanting to spend $14k to build the motor, it's a good option.
Haha. Do all the cams for DE sound the same or no? As far as 272 go? Where did you get or find Nismo oil pump? If you can't what's the best or better alternative? 8k rpm is your max? You rev it to there all the time or not? No problem for the amount of time you've had it?

Ethan Fox Z1 tuned. Cams are usually good for 30-40whp which is in line with my result. 🤘

Correct. In this video it was a stock short block and stock heads minus the cams, springs, and oil pump.

It was a Nismo oil pump. No issues there. Fuel pump in this video is a 255. No NVH really.

Antonyy sze yes it’s a great out of the box option for high rev protection and missed shifts. At a minimum I would do billet gears in a Revup housing

I’d have to go back and look. They did several other things for me while it was apart as well. Probably somewhere around $1500 if it was cams only.
