She's 27!!! 3 Majors, 3 olympic medals, hall of famer, 20 plus LPGA wins,. Youngest world number 1, youngest hall of fame player, world Am champ...on, and on...legend.
Lydia is both articulate and isn't afraid to be open about her feelings, thoughts and views. Refreshing as often athletes are trained to only answer in unrevealed short sound bites
She’s NOT a New Zealander. She was born in Seoul, South Korea to parents from the same country. Her roots and ancestry are from S Korea and that makes it impossible for her to be a New Zealander. It doesn’t matter whether your family emigrates to another country, your blood stays with your ancestors! Imagine the great All Black captain Richie McCaw emigrating to China, he could NEVER become Chinese!
What lovely post match interview . She comes over as very honest , humble and intelligent , down to earth. Being English I was hoping for Hull but as usual blew it , not that she'd bad and no disrespect but I think Korda and Ko etc are at a different level. Not just out of respect for ability I like this woman for her attitude , straight forward answers to questions , becoming a fan of her very quickly , shame she's not English. Lol.
@@braidsmaxwell8429 Hell yeah 👏😀 ...Interestingly unlike some naturalised New Zealanders Lydia may well have still achieved similar feats had she never left her native origins. The number of young "class A" golfers that have emerged from Korea in the last decade is truly quite astonishing.
Let’s go Lydia! Certainly she will be knighted…..one of the diamonds of Kiwi sports people. She has earned it on her own merit’s and having a warm humble attitude.
She makes both NZ and South Korea proud. She's a great sportswoman, and even if she wasn't a hall of famer, she's just the best for her humbleness and sportsmanship. I'm sure she'll always have a foot in both countries, and maybe more so South Korea than NZ with her husband from there. No matter, because she reminds me of many greats of NZ past such as Ed Hillary, Peter Snell, and Murray Hallberg. Lots of confidence and positivity, but totally humble and kind. A little bit of NZ will always be in Lydia.
She undoubtedly will be named a Dame of New Zealand. The Greats of NZ womans sports, Carrington, Suzan, Adams and Co, Koh is right up there with them all. Huge NZ female roll model.
That is SOO Lydia and exactly what makes her so adorable - She can't just say in response to that first question - as most would - ''I'm on cloud nine' or 'I'm overwhelmed' ...her generous and analytical nature compels her to elaborate and explain WHY!! That is precisely why she is the ultimate Champion that she is and why she is such a brilliant Ambassador.
How true. She didn’t just answer a question to get the closing interview over with, she elaborated by providing background to her answers. A true ambassador to the LPGA.
Well played Lydia! What an achievement in 2024 -A major title -A Gold medal at the Olympics -Is now in the Hall of Fame Watching from Australia, who lived most of my life in West Auckland Nz,Congratulations!! 🫡🇳🇿❤️
Congratulations, Lydia for winning the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews, The Old Course this week. This win is the icing on the cake following your Gold Medal in the Olympics and induction into the LPGA Hall of Fame. You have had an impressive run in LPGA competition and your hard work has generated wonderful results.
The museum at the U.S. Open in Pinehurst had a question: Who do you think belongs in the Hall of Fame? I picked Lydia Ko. Now I am SO happy to say it’s true. Never will forget the 3-wood at Mediheal to win in 2018. What a Champion!!!
She plotted her way quietly around the course, whilst all the hype and coverage was on Nelly and Lylia. Then out of the blue she hit that amazing 3 wood on 17 in horrible weather and the rest is history. Congratulations❤
