Having fun with a flail vs Shield and Spear

I, for that matter, do just silly things while testing out my Flail made from scrap.

The advantage of a flail is that nobody really knows how to deal with it. The disadvantage of a flail is that even the user does not really know how to deal with it.

To be honest, it has a very different dynamic than I thought. Huge Swords are more my thing but I think a shield and a flail are funny to use on foot. On horseback the flail could be even nicer, but unfortunately I am no rider😅

@@A_Medieval_Shadow Oh certainly they are very unique weapons. I do not think they are viable on horseback though - I think on a cavalry weapon tier list I would place them below Greatswords. The chain prevents you from driving much force into your hits after all.

the goal in using a flail is to strike the shield with the end of the shaft to get maximum wrap with the head. once you get your distance locked in you can do a lot more with it

I agree. I found it interesting how the physik of the flail worked. The rotation, the directions and which tactics you immediately learn after a few minutes. I will make a twohanded version like a mangual and later the "Two stick"-Version for testing.
