I've just started metal detecting, is there a book that has depictionsof roman items, so I know what I've found?
From my fist rally I thought I'd found only buttons but from watching I have clearly fond thimbles too. Lol

Man this is my dream land for detecting! I’m from Puerto Rico and our history is a little over 500 years. Anything older than that is traveling back to the time of indians. Some day I’ll make the trip over to find me self some of that roman history. Love your videos especially the metal detecting ones. Cheers mate

though I had some problem with sea water It also th-cam.com/users/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
the item on 21:56 could be a Knife Crown. I dont know the right term in englisch in germany we call it a "Messerkrönchen". it is a part from the end of a knife handle. greetings from bavaria Lechsonde.

Some places up north has a lot of old old items. I used to go digging with my Granny and she would find cool stuff.

To clean my silver I use a piece of tinfoil at the bottom of my sink, then I add boiling water, baking Soda and while vinegar. All I do is dip my silver in and take it out and it’s as shiny as can be.

Just thinking about it. They woke up, had breakfast, kissed their spouse and kids, went to work or to war, or just a stroll and lost it. Maybe they were bummed about it, maybe they didn't even notice. And now 2000 years after you find it and we have the opportunity to see it. Just awesome mate. Thanks for the cool videos! to clean zilver you can take a bowl put some aluminumfoil in it then the silver and put soda on top and poor boiling water on it and let isoak for a while , enloying your blog !!

Some great finds! This location is much better than the last time you were treasure hunting for old Roman coins.
Great video. Item with three loops is the top of a Roman key, iron bit corroded away. I think I saw the top of a seal box early in the vid too - flat bronze with two loops on one side

minims are massive for the vanquish detectors i have had a find in my hand not visible to the eye until narrowed down what a brilliant machine.

That round piece at 18:24 looks like a part of a Roman catapult used to fight Napoleons army. In fact I think it was the very weapon that hit one of Napoleons Generals named Maximum Arealious in the head knocking him off of his horse. Great find. Carry on mate.

You should look into using a small ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning up small items. I used one for cleaning fossils when i was in college.
Something you won’t find in a very young country like Australia
Roman artefacts or artefacts of any kind
Just shows how old history is in Europe
And you had such a real nice day out in the country
And not messing about in the those muddy stinky canals
Looking for safes and bikes 👍👍
I haven’t found anything roman at all with a couple years detecting and a good couple thousand holes
