interestingly nilou, alhaitham, kirara, xingqiu has been pretty much alhaithams most present low cost speedrunning team for the past year a lot of people mistakenly believe you need nahida in bloom but actually you don't really

Ranking units that have active character defensive utility in the game and rank them based on strength. Which healer, shielder, and interruption resistance units are the least DPS loss to include in your team. A tier list like this would be very helpful for casuals still wanting a strong team to help clear abyss with.
I think looking at units in a vacuum like this is of dubious value. Most strong teams naturally integrate these units already, like Layla in mono cryo, Nilou teams, Kuki teams, Furina teams, Bennett is a healer too etc. If someone wants a strong team they should pick one they like and can work towards on their account
A list like this would be funny but ultimately useless. The damage profile of a character highly depends on the team. Characters can't just be reduced to defensive utility + personal damage contribution. Bennett is a massive damage increase for reverse vaporize and reverse melt teams, but a substantial damage loss for hyperbloom teams. Do we include every catalyst character's performance with Prototype Amber on this list? Protype Amber Mona and Nahida can actually be sensible options, and for Neuvillette it's just his best 4* weapon in general.

When Kirara came out I pulled for her even though I already had both of the five stars already and managed to snag a single one without gettig a five star. Ever since then she has been a staple in my Nilou team even at C0 (I play her, Nahida, and Kokomi in the Nilou team) and as someone who plays a lot of Nilou and has done many different versions, this is actually one of my favorite variants. I would love to get constellations for her but sadly I also already have both Cyno and Ayato... so I guess she will stay C0 for a while longer.
As a DPS kirara player, I THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I just run 2pc HP 2pc Dendro on her lol, and HP/Dendro/Crit and Mistsplitter on her!! Mine’s C6 and she does crazy damage!!!

She has the 3rd best shield, with 30k HP talent lvl9 Zhongli shield = 9034 Layla = 7622 Kirara = 7056(tap)~11,293(hold) Zhongli shield being number 1 since it has extra dmg reduction added to it and its a geo shield. I think kirara is a great shield bot to teams that needs dendro and a shielder.
So I found that using her for a shielded driver with furina and fischl both dealing off field damage to create hyper bloom is really fun. Just run around in her little cat box and watch stuff blow up
Kirara is indeed fun with off-field damage teammates! Sometimes I'll bring Kirara along with Furina, Yae, and Sayu. I just drop Furina's pets w/ Yae's turrets, then alternate between Kirara's catbox and Sayu's roll.
Yes! I'm happy someone big is finally talking about kirara. I liked her so much that I used my guarantee to get a Yae Miko along the way just to get her C4. Her shields are unexpectedly strong. Something I didn't expect at the time. Now she's almost always in the party to shield and consistently proc deep wood
I don't think that people think that she's underrated. It's just that pulling just one copy of a 4 star can be really hard, so a lot of people that want to play her don't have her. I have 80 pulls between both of her banners and still don't have a single copy of her. Now I have to wait until God knows when to try again.
Great video. Aggravate is underrated in general, my first 36 star abyss was done with Yae Fischl Kazuha and Kirara. Always good to see it getting attention
Wow... I knew from her release that she is very good. I was even pretty sure she will be very good before release... But still I've learnt from this video. I was not considering her DPS to be that high. I have c0 though... I was focusing on shield and elemental application. It's kinda weird to not add - she has second best shield after Zhongli! Especially when considering HP of shield generated over time and cooldowns. It was absolutely crazy how some people were underrating her. Zajef made a video, long as usual... without even trying to evaluate her seriously. He only calculated her shield for Nilou bloom self damage cause someone asked and that was all what he considered about her shield... what a joke of a theorycrafter. He only made a video to tell - just play Yaoyao... No idea what was wrong with him to overrate Yaoyao so much and completely overlook value of Kirara or Baizhu. It's just clear as day Kirara most of the time is an upgrade for quicken. But I can add that her mechanic of bumping into enemies can be also a serious disadvantage. It depends. Try against Coppelia... uhh... You will have no shield, LOL. Shield can be great against Coppelia, but only when you keep some distance. Otherwise surely you will go into attack combo that will destroy your shield even immediately. It may happen in some other situations as well. Something worth to note.
If you use her hold skill, but then immediately cancel it, you get two quick hits and also generate more particles, for about a half second more field time than just tapping her skill. I can't not use it now.
Man I wish I would’ve gotten a kirara but I went 130+ wishes and got another yae con on her original banner. This time I’ve gone 50 wishes no kirara still and I don’t wanna get another 5 star again man 😢
I use her in my Yae Aggravate team and love her. Her burst does a remarkable amount of damage, even built for defense. I was so so happy when she drops, I hate YaoYao and after missing Baizhu I felt kind of trapped for Dendro options not wanting to run an annoying toddler xD I just wish I could justify pulling for her c4 right now but I'm on guarantee and have absolutely no use for Ayato or Cyno Edit: Instructor over Noblesse? I never even considered it but on Yae Aggravate, the extra EM would be worth a ton....
This is very interesting. I was actually recently recommended Kirara for my Neuvillette team because I lacked Zhongli. With the team recommendation being Neuvillette, Fischl, Venti/Sucrose (I don't have Kazuha), and Kirara. I don't have a lot of strong shielders, but Kirara was recommended because her shield is more resistant to interruptions than characters like Diona, and Bloom goes well with Neuvillette because his talent can stack his damage based on different Hydro based reactions.
The moment she came out, I built her as DPS and on Emblem (just because I have a lot of Emblem pieces), because her burst damage is just juicy. plus her C4 is considered Dendro Burst Damage. I hit like 500k+ burst nuke damage showcase on scara. Now that furina is in the game, I might try it again. I also have a full EM gilded set build on her for Nilou teams. Her cart playstyle in that team is just awesome. Kirara is such a fun character, no doubt.
i played Kirara back when she came out alrdy very regular with Nilou and Alhaitham and Yae in different teams, her shield cooldown is really nice and her overworld climbing skills made Fontaine also very nice and easy to explore. Shes definitly one of the better 4* and useable for different things.
If you have First Great Magic on Tighnari, then his Yae, Nahida, Kirara team is pretty insane. Kirara can be built for damage and she contributes a fair amount in this team.
I couldn't get her on her first banner, even in 50 pulls, i got a lot of dragonsbanes and widsiths and even a yae. And now, i have a guarantee and im saving for navia. I will not be able to get her again. This is so painful.
there is one tip that i'm pretty sure most Kirara players (i mean the people who actually build and use her properly) always do with her skill, that is you don't tap, you hold it for just enough time to make it the hold version then recast it right away, you can get 1 stack of her talent, get stronger shield, get more particles, and only extend the cd by 0.5s
I remember tried to get Kirara on Yae's banner. I got the fox, but not the cat... I still want her, but wasting my guarantee 5* on current banner isn't worth it.
It’s pretty cool how Nilou’s signature weapon has been gaining value. Originally it was awkward to recommend but now, we are finding characters whom can use it like furina.

Where as subject is the first person, if you will (for simplicity sake). In my op, I was discussing the weapon as the subject and the characters were the object. I’m no grammar major though, so maybe, you can argue that the item and the characters were both subject (collectively as them), and maybe, who still works. I’m confident in us agreeing that the weapon is the subject however, because context of the sentence hinges on you understanding “it” refers to the weapon. It is being used in the same vein as He/she and not him/her here.

Another thing not mentioned is kirara box form is a great tool for reposition because it move as fast as your sprinting character but doesn't consume any stamina at all, this alone makes her an S tier for exploration lol
I really wanted to use Kirara with Nilou, but every time I've tried replacing Collei with her, it seems to just exchange a lot of damage for somewhat better consistency. Though that's partly because Kirara is c0 and Collei is c6, because they only put her on undesirable banners... the Instructor idea might be worth a try, hopefully it doesn't weaken her shield too much.
I like Kirara. It sounds like she makes a good all-rounder rather than a specialist. That would make her good very early in the game, but less useful later on when you have enough 5* characters for your teams.
U can play kirara in hyperbloom team like nahida, yelan, kirara, kuki cus in this team u don't have a unit like xq to protect u & provide interruption to resistance. She's good in this & the dendro res does helps alot if your kuki is below 1000em mark.
I’ve been trying to test, I think the instructor set is still good for her in quick swap teams (Tighnari), but I’ve been testing the new Natlan set and that buff last 15s vs instructor 8s. I think that uptime becomes more important when using bursts in a rotation. Plus a minor increase in HP% when running the key weapon. (5 star artifacts vs 4 star). Ignoring bursts, I think the instructor set is better but the numbers feel close. I need a second opinion lol I’m running Tighnari /yae /nahida / kirara
I have collei poorly built but c6 and I quite enjoy her dendro application for burgeon. I think all dendro characters can have some use, none feel totally redundant.
The timing and banner she was on really hurt her when she came out. Two low-tier 4* and two 5* low-mid popular reruns. Also, by the time she came out I had already c6 Yaoyao (Baizhu skip) and everyone could get a free Yaoyao from event pick. I only tried my luck to get her c0 to have her collected.
Kinda tempted to get a key on the next nilou rerun if the banner is good. Support swords and bows are just so good. But key kinda takes the cake for how often it shows up as a relevant option for a non nilou character.
I love Kirara and really want to use her but I can't make her work anywhere, she just not very flexible and doesn't offer much role consolidation. She's dendro but she doesn't apply enough fill the dendro enabler role and her defensive profile lacks heals so she can't fill all defensive needs either and as shielder there are just better options that bring more to the team. I could only see myself using her with Nilou because her teams specifically restrict the party to dendro and hydro and her passive makes team damage naturally effortlessly high. I wish she was better.
I have her at C1 and it's already good enough. She quite help me in burgeon team when I fight hydro tulpa. Quite rare to use since high em diluc (ye I use him as burgeon lol) are the only team I often use with Kirara.
all of them, you still want a good ratio of crit rate and damage and atk, but you want EM substats, or if you have EM sands with much better substats than your atk sands you can use that, tho some characters like alhaitham prefer EM sands anyway, basically you just want some kind of balance of all three
Hey just a quick question... can you tell me what's the highest ceiling team for Keqing C1 (Mistsplitter) + Fischl C6 (Simulacra) duo... in my experience it seems to be Keqing Fischl Nahida Zhongli/Kazuha (choose according to the content) there is no heal here tho my normal one is Keqing Fischl Yaoyao Kazuha some say Baizhu here is better but now I see Kirara in your video and she seems really good (and pretty xd) i have key... staff of homa... all favs r5 (and other things) but no freedom sworn 🤔
Kazuha or petra Zhongli with Nahida for sure is the best, but the Nahida app can screw the VV or Crystallize. So you need to time the Keq E correctly. Yao Yao and Baizhu do about the same, but Baizhu has the upside of not requiring some field time like Yao Yao and his passive adds the equivalent of a 4p Instructor set. Kirara upside is allowing the player to run Kazuha or Sucrose comfortably because she is both the Dendro app and Shield :D
Calling him a shielder is like calling Xingqiu a healer. Technically, he has a shield, but it isn't a shield-shield. It's just part of how his burst provides some interrupt protection, triggers some dendro, and heals, all in a way that is unique to him, giving him some identity.

Thats the team I have used her in the last few months and its very fun! I did throw in Fischl as my 4th since she is just too good with Keqing. But ya I just got Kirara C4 yesterday from the new banner so I have been testing out the extra hits.

Not sure if I feel comfortable playing a team with no healer yet. I do eventually want to build my c0 kirara, she’s only 70 w/ level 6 talents and I mainly use for open world for climbing . I’m sure with higher investment she’ll be a fine choice, but getting flashbacks of 3.7 abyss with consecrated beasts, doesn’t matter how strong your shield was it just got chunked. I do like the look of that nilou team, but I’m not sure how heavy the sustain can be with no healer.

What about c4 Kirara as the shielder in a Nahida Melt Ganyu team core? More Dendro to help keep burning alive? I've been using c4 Yanfei the whole time, but I didn't even know Kirara also could get a coordinated Dendro attack and now I'm curious about it. I tried using Baizhu as the shielder there at one point, but it wasn't consistent enough for the interruption resistance. If I ever get Kirara's c4, I'm gonna give her a try there.
Tbf I have tried ganyu bennett nahida kirara and was fine for the most part but the burning still went away sometimes cuz no additional pyro app made it run out leaving dendro aura.
Alas for me, she's lackluster, due to the lack of the C4 yet. An unfortunate issue with four stars. There are so many, they don't pop that often anymore, making it hard to get cons (or even get them at all, without risking pity). And if you've been playing for a while, you typically have other four stars that have gained various perks from constellations or else a five star that you use instead. I just want her to be on a banner I'm pulling the five star for. Like why couldn't she have been with Navia instead of Cyno/Ayato? Of course, that would suck for people that want to skip the first 4.3 banner and want her. Genshin really needs to do some work on their banners and/or the shop.
I run my Nilou bloom team with Nilou, Nahida, Kokomi and DMC is it good I mean I know Collie and Kirara is better than DMC but spending recourses to level up these characters is really not something I am looking forward to right now because Navia is right around the corner and also double crowning my Furina took a lot already.
Would you say that for what they each provide, would a TToDS Baizhu with Noblesse or a Noblesse Kirara at C6 be better? Currently using Alhaitham, Nahida, Kuki Shinobu and Baizhu but ive wanted to use Kirara in a team for a little while now. Also wondering if shes better or worse than Layla for Hu Tao since Kirara's C4 would cause a bit of burning/burgeon but shes got a pretty strong shield and her C6 is pretty good
I like the subtitles but the font is small and the style is harder to read than id like. What are your thoughts on Layla? She's similar in that she's a shielder that does dmg. How's her damage in a freeze team? Praise worthy or forgettable? Thirdly, you said kirara does impressive damage like baizhu but then showed graphs where baizhu and kirara do 6% of a teams damage. Is that supposed to be a lot? I feel like sub 10% is just not noteworthy. Its like when people say jean is a big damaging healer. I dont get how these numbers are impressive? Going from a defensive option that deals 1% of team DMG to one that deals 6% of team DMG is close to a 5% total team DPS increase. This can be the difference between clearing one side of abyss in 94.5 seconds or in 90 seconds, which can definitely matter.

I personally think it's so hilarious how baizhu has paper shields that break in one hit when he could just have a interruption resistance buff

Fun team for Kirara: Barbara E, Kuki E, + box cat mode. It's like ramming a bus in gta.
I do this wish another hydro like Xingqu to get the hydro resonance, since all characters benefit from the extra HP. Quite a fun and synergistic team
She is in my furry team with Yae, Tighnari and Sucrose. Fun, effective and thematic..

I use her in my Yae Aggravate team and love her. Her burst does a remarkable amount of damage, even built for defense.
I was so so happy when she drops, I hate YaoYao and after missing Baizhu I felt kind of trapped for Dendro options not wanting to run an annoying toddler xD
I just wish I could justify pulling for her c4 right now but I'm on guarantee and have absolutely no use for Ayato or Cyno
Edit: Instructor over Noblesse? I never even considered it but on Yae Aggravate, the extra EM would be worth a ton....

Funnily enough, I started playing in 3.7 because of her marketing. World exploration with low stamina was made soo much better cuz of her 😅
This is very interesting. I was actually recently recommended Kirara for my Neuvillette team because I lacked Zhongli. With the team recommendation being Neuvillette, Fischl, Venti/Sucrose (I don't have Kazuha), and Kirara.
I don't have a lot of strong shielders, but Kirara was recommended because her shield is more resistant to interruptions than characters like Diona, and Bloom goes well with Neuvillette because his talent can stack his damage based on different Hydro based reactions.
The moment she came out, I built her as DPS and on Emblem (just because I have a lot of Emblem pieces), because her burst damage is just juicy. plus her C4 is considered Dendro Burst Damage.
I hit like 500k+ burst nuke damage showcase on scara. Now that furina is in the game, I might try it again.
I also have a full EM gilded set build on her for Nilou teams. Her cart playstyle in that team is just awesome. Kirara is such a fun character, no doubt.
i played Kirara back when she came out alrdy very regular with Nilou and Alhaitham and Yae in different teams, her shield cooldown is really nice and her overworld climbing skills made Fontaine also very nice and easy to explore. Shes definitly one of the better 4* and useable for different things.
Got myself C4 Kirara on Ayato's banner, definitely gonna build her after I'll finish with Candace and Dehya
she is also very good with c0 neuvillette cuz strong af shield and 1 ez stack for neu passive
If you have First Great Magic on Tighnari, then his Yae, Nahida, Kirara team is pretty insane. Kirara can be built for damage and she contributes a fair amount in this team.

I couldn't get her on her first banner, even in 50 pulls, i got a lot of dragonsbanes and widsiths and even a yae. And now, i have a guarantee and im saving for navia. I will not be able to get her again. This is so painful.

there is one tip that i'm pretty sure most Kirara players (i mean the people who actually build and use her properly) always do with her skill, that is you don't tap, you hold it for just enough time to make it the hold version then recast it right away, you can get 1 stack of her talent, get stronger shield, get more particles, and only extend the cd by 0.5s
I remember tried to get Kirara on Yae's banner. I got the fox, but not the cat...
I still want her, but wasting my guarantee 5* on current banner isn't worth it.

In my op, I was discussing the weapon as the subject and the characters were the object.
I’m no grammar major though, so maybe, you can argue that the item and the characters were both subject (collectively as them), and maybe, who still works. I’m confident in us agreeing that the weapon is the subject however, because context of the sentence hinges on you understanding “it” refers to the weapon. It is being used in the same vein as He/she and not him/her here.

Another thing not mentioned is kirara box form is a great tool for reposition because it move as fast as your sprinting character but doesn't consume any stamina at all, this alone makes her an S tier for exploration lol
It does consume some stamina I’ve noticed this while climbing. Still an amazing exploration character.
I really wanted to use Kirara with Nilou, but every time I've tried replacing Collei with her, it seems to just exchange a lot of damage for somewhat better consistency. Though that's partly because Kirara is c0 and Collei is c6, because they only put her on undesirable banners... the Instructor idea might be worth a try, hopefully it doesn't weaken her shield too much.
I like Kirara. It sounds like she makes a good all-rounder rather than a specialist. That would make her good very early in the game, but less useful later on when you have enough 5* characters for your teams.
U can play kirara in hyperbloom team like nahida, yelan, kirara, kuki cus in this team u don't have a unit like xq to protect u & provide interruption to resistance. She's good in this & the dendro res does helps alot if your kuki is below 1000em mark.
I’ve been trying to test, I think the instructor set is still good for her in quick swap teams (Tighnari), but I’ve been testing the new Natlan set and that buff last 15s vs instructor 8s. I think that uptime becomes more important when using bursts in a rotation. Plus a minor increase in HP% when running the key weapon. (5 star artifacts vs 4 star).
Ignoring bursts, I think the instructor set is better but the numbers feel close. I need a second opinion lol

I have collei poorly built but c6 and I quite enjoy her dendro application for burgeon. I think all dendro characters can have some use, none feel totally redundant.

The timing and banner she was on really hurt her when she came out. Two low-tier 4* and two 5* low-mid popular reruns. Also, by the time she came out I had already c6 Yaoyao (Baizhu skip) and everyone could get a free Yaoyao from event pick. I only tried my luck to get her c0 to have her collected.
I built her even tho I have baizhu. At c0 she’s okay. I still love her though
She’s super fun to play on field I’ve been using her with raiden Yao Yao and furina and it’s just so fun.
Kinda tempted to get a key on the next nilou rerun if the banner is good. Support swords and bows are just so good.
But key kinda takes the cake for how often it shows up as a relevant option for a non nilou character.

I love my Kirara, my burst hits for 40-42k and the cardamoms 10k+, and yes I built her as a shielder.

I love Kirara and really want to use her but I can't make her work anywhere, she just not very flexible and doesn't offer much role consolidation. She's dendro but she doesn't apply enough fill the dendro enabler role and her defensive profile lacks heals so she can't fill all defensive needs either and as shielder there are just better options that bring more to the team. I could only see myself using her with Nilou because her teams specifically restrict the party to dendro and hydro and her passive makes team damage naturally effortlessly high. I wish she was better.
from what i’m hearing my physical dps kirara is her most optimal build.
I have her at C1 and it's already good enough. She quite help me in burgeon team when I fight hydro tulpa. Quite rare to use since high em diluc (ye I use him as burgeon lol) are the only team I often use with Kirara.
I always wanted this c4 but never got any dupes outside the first banner :_: Pulling for dupes right now on rerun banner kinda sucks.
I build her day one just for her shield. She fits nicely in my nahida/yae aggravate team.

all of them, you still want a good ratio of crit rate and damage and atk, but you want EM substats, or if you have EM sands with much better substats than your atk sands you can use that, tho some characters like alhaitham prefer EM sands anyway, basically you just want some kind of balance of all three

in my experience it seems to be Keqing Fischl Nahida Zhongli/Kazuha (choose according to the content) there is no heal here tho
my normal one is Keqing Fischl Yaoyao Kazuha
some say Baizhu here is better

Kirara/baizhu-fisch keq kazuha is the best generally
Kazuha or petra Zhongli with Nahida for sure is the best, but the Nahida app can screw the VV or Crystallize. So you need to time the Keq E correctly.
Yao Yao and Baizhu do about the same, but Baizhu has the upside of not requiring some field time like Yao Yao and his passive adds the equivalent of a 4p Instructor set.
Kirara upside is allowing the player to run Kazuha or Sucrose comfortably because she is both the Dendro app and Shield :D
Baizhu's shield is so patheticly weak that forgeting he is also a shielder is understandable XD
Calling him a shielder is like calling Xingqiu a healer. Technically, he has a shield, but it isn't a shield-shield. It's just part of how his burst provides some interrupt protection, triggers some dendro, and heals, all in a way that is unique to him, giving him some identity.

Thats the team I have used her in the last few months and its very fun! I did throw in Fischl as my 4th since she is just too good with Keqing. But ya I just got Kirara C4 yesterday from the new banner so I have been testing out the extra hits.

Not sure if I feel comfortable playing a team with no healer yet. I do eventually want to build my c0 kirara, she’s only 70 w/ level 6 talents and I mainly use for open world for climbing . I’m sure with higher investment she’ll be a fine choice, but getting flashbacks of 3.7 abyss with consecrated beasts, doesn’t matter how strong your shield was it just got chunked. I do like the look of that nilou team, but I’m not sure how heavy the sustain can be with no healer.
The healer in nilou teams is often the hydro. You do want to build talents and levels for the shield to rely on it though.

What about c4 Kirara as the shielder in a Nahida Melt Ganyu team core? More Dendro to help keep burning alive? I've been using c4 Yanfei the whole time, but I didn't even know Kirara also could get a coordinated Dendro attack and now I'm curious about it.
I tried using Baizhu as the shielder there at one point, but it wasn't consistent enough for the interruption resistance. If I ever get Kirara's c4, I'm gonna give her a try there.
Nah for burn melt you need more pyro usually nahida application alone is enough on the dendro side. Typicaly people slot in dehya.
Tbf I have tried ganyu bennett nahida kirara and was fine for the most part but the burning still went away sometimes cuz no additional pyro app made it run out leaving dendro aura.
Alas for me, she's lackluster, due to the lack of the C4 yet. An unfortunate issue with four stars. There are so many, they don't pop that often anymore, making it hard to get cons (or even get them at all, without risking pity). And if you've been playing for a while, you typically have other four stars that have gained various perks from constellations or else a five star that you use instead. I just want her to be on a banner I'm pulling the five star for. Like why couldn't she have been with Navia instead of Cyno/Ayato? Of course, that would suck for people that want to skip the first 4.3 banner and want her.
Genshin really needs to do some work on their banners and/or the shop.
I run my Nilou bloom team with Nilou, Nahida, Kokomi and DMC is it good I mean I know Collie and Kirara is better than DMC but spending recourses to level up these characters is really not something I am looking forward to right now because Navia is right around the corner and also double crowning my Furina took a lot already.

Would you say that for what they each provide, would a TToDS Baizhu with Noblesse or a Noblesse Kirara at C6 be better? Currently using Alhaitham, Nahida, Kuki Shinobu and Baizhu but ive wanted to use Kirara in a team for a little while now. Also wondering if shes better or worse than Layla for Hu Tao since Kirara's C4 would cause a bit of burning/burgeon but shes got a pretty strong shield and her C6 is pretty good
I like the subtitles but the font is small and the style is harder to read than id like. What are your thoughts on Layla? She's similar in that she's a shielder that does dmg. How's her damage in a freeze team? Praise worthy or forgettable? Thirdly, you said kirara does impressive damage like baizhu but then showed graphs where baizhu and kirara do 6% of a teams damage. Is that supposed to be a lot? I feel like sub 10% is just not noteworthy. Its like when people say jean is a big damaging healer. I dont get how these numbers are impressive? Going from a defensive option that deals 1% of team DMG to one that deals 6% of team DMG is close to a 5% total team DPS increase. This can be the difference between clearing one side of abyss in 94.5 seconds or in 90 seconds, which can definitely matter.
