I'm a bit confused because pharmacy technicians according to my study are not supposed to counsel patients or give any directions related to medications for patients/customers....
None of the dialogue includes counseling. A pharmay technician gathers patient medication information and refers to pharmacist for clinical or therapeutic questions
@pharmacyprep1 at 7:07 the pt suggested to the customer that they should use a different medications, telling them about possible drug interactions with the medicines they are currently taking. Doesn't that count as a form of counseling? Not trying to be confrontational. It was just stressed to me that we were not supposed to talk about medications with the customer, so really wondering where to draw the line.
