Tempest Rings , you needn’t waste your time responding to losers like this moron. He’s illiterate and doesn’t even know which “your” to use. You’re/your.....all the same to an imbecile.
Christopher Cochran: You make my point. An imbecile is someone who has to ask what an imbecile is. But since you are obviously clueless, I’ll supply you with the dictionary definition: im·be·cile [ˈimbəsəl]. NOUN. informal: a stupid person. synonyms: idiot · ass · blockhead · dunce · dolt · ignoramus · imbecile · cretin · dullard · simpleton · moron · clod · nitwit By the way, a dictionary is where you go to look up the definition of words.
Awesome video, my daughters and I love to watch these. Your attention to detail in both your ring making and videos is encouraging to me. Keep doing this!!
I turn bowls, boxes etc, sometimes with resin and although not my thing I love watching your creations, they are beautiful and its a break away from my normal viewing. I will have to watch a few more videos as I am beginning to get really interested. thank you very inspirational
Thanks for being so meticulous in detail. Your style is awesome, and the ring looks absolutely beautiful. I personally like the large Opal as well. I have just started turning rings in the last couple years, and have yet to make one that complicated, but seeing you do it makes me know I can do one of this caliber as well. Great work, and keep the videos coming.
Love the ring as much as I love the banter with your friend in the comments. Great videos like this are timeless and will continue to inspire generations to have a go :)
I rarely comment on TH-cam threads but was really impressed with your creativity here. I actually learned a couple things and can't wait to try it out for myself. Thumbs Up on the page!
This is about the fourth time I have watched this video I love it my wife loves it our kids love it and we wish you would do more Rings like this but maybe add something along with the opal and I think they're the perfect size I wouldn't want them any smaller we all agree here that the way they stand out looks amazing
You are certainly talented and very knowledgeable on the subject of your videos. Bravo! The large Opal Galaxy Cluster ring is sick! I could easily believe finer pieces would be as gorgeous or maybe even better, and would like to see it.
I'm so glad I found your channel! I subbed after watching you make the solid opal ring..wowza! I like watching woodworking vids, and finding you just adds that little something I've been missing.
Well I love his channel, its the fact that he can make amazing jewellery out of all sorts of strange stuff that does my head in (because I have been learning to do 'ordinary' jewellery half my life and he comes along and changes the goalposts lol!
Been waiting patiently for this one! Your stuff is a big inspiration to this beginner. I hope you post a video for one of your matching epoxy inlay/core rings sometime down the road. Keep doing what you’re doing!
I have to say; like others - you are becoming my "go to" ring maker channel. Your style (artistic and narrative) is spot-on! Plus, you really draw the viewer in. Much appreciated - I'm learning quite a bit from you. Thanks! Would love to how you get your cores done - the logo is a very nice touch. Anyway .. BRAVO , please keep them coming.
You are quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel to watch. Very interesting stuff and beautiful end products :) If there ever is going to be day when I'm need of a ring, I'm certainly considering yours.
Awesome work and that came out wonderful. I have so many ideas now and just wanted to say thank you. My wife is going to be mad now as my shopping cart is growing and growing, lol... Ugh!
Man that ring is nice.. i disagree with the small opal.. i love those large one.. a royal blue cast instead of black would be nice too.. kind of an 80'sish look to it.. it its called Memphis design...
This is absolutely gorgeous! If I might say.. I like the big opals as is. If you have made more with the tinier opals like you mentioned, I hope to find that video to see how that turned out! Nice channel sir.
I've done 10s of thousands of binary polyurethane castings --- before the pressure on the pot, use a vacuum pump (turn on while clamping lid, makes clamping a little easier--even a cheapie vac pump should be able to get down to 25mm vacuum in a minute). Also, mix your pigment into the appropriate A or B mixture BEFORE mixing the 2 (typically A). This allows you to get a good nice thorough pigment mix. Have a timer on hand, hit start, then mix your A/B. If you have a 7 minute working, at 6m put that into the pressure pot, get vacuum running, and bang the pot with something like a small hammer putting small vibrations into the mix promoting air to the top. At the 7m mark, yank the vacuum tube off and hook the air hose up. Play with your pressure ahead of time, you should be able to get near 55psi with an ever so slight hiss from the safety valve. You will get perfectly flawless castings, every single time. To prevent your part from moving w/ the airflow, place something heavy over it like a pyrex glass measuring cup. This is required for faster curing items as you'll still have vacuum when you hook up the air hose, and yeah, something small will go for a ride. You can work with very fast curing products using this method. And by all means w/ the various dust you're kicking up, be wearing a minimum niosh p100 breathing apparatus (not the wonka donk paper style ones, use a rubber unit).....most of those dust particles are carcinogens (in fine powder when breathed). Additionally when on the lathe, consider getting a cheapie walmart box fan and finding the highest filtering efficiency filter to place over the suction side and put behind your lathe to capture most of the dust from getting into your work environment. It can be kicked up working in there. For cleanup -- use a shop vac that has both blow and suction ports, use the fine dust bags and pipe the vent outdoors. Cleanup before removing that mask. You'll thank me 10 years down the line when you don't have lung cancer.
hey you make wonderful rings and i love the way you do them. keep up the great work of making rings. i hope i get a ring like the ones you make. keep going strong and dont give up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This my new favourite ring making channel and I really like the production of your videos (as well as your rings). Your workplace is well lit, you have very good narration and camerawork is spot on. My only comment would be the choice of music as it in my opinion is a bit too "agressive", but that is pure personal preference so take that feedback with a grain of salt. :)
That is an awesome ring. I love opal. Bought some welo opal rough awhile ago before they banned exporting rough. I have lots of small chips and powder that I made. Now I know what to do with it. Thanks!
Lovely ring. Have you looked into abrasive cleaning sticks? Like a big eraser, cleans sandpaper well, better than your brush. I've read you can also use an old sneaker bottom.
This must be the coolest hobby EVER!!!🤩 I would really love doing something like this😁 But I looks like an expensive start up with all the equipment, tools and material.
Love your video's, interesting and very well presented. I will pick on one thing however; you said you put the ring in the pressure pot at 45psi, however you went to approximately 65psi. The red readings are PSI and the black readings Kg per square centimetre. I can't go that high, the relief -valve on my unit would activate before then. Oh, and I don't mind the music.
Instead of a pressure pot, why don't you use a vacuum chamber to completely remove any air entrained in your resin mixture? The ring looks very beautiful with the larger opals in it, fantastic work.
I think it came out really well, the rainbow colors off set the shiny black in a pleasing manner. I was wondering how hard would it be to do a pattern, like a Celtic knot or something around the band. What about a single symbol, like an Empirial cog (like from star wars), or whatever nerd fodder you can think of. There are so many symbols that mean so many things to people. I have kind of been watching these ring making videos that started popping up in my dash and was wondering if you could ball park the overhead for starting this as a beginner. It looks more machine intensive than I would like, but if I started just dremmeling things I think I might get a better feel for it. Also, many of the rings I see are smoothly rounded, but what would it take to put some texture into it, like for this Galaxy ring, putting i tiny kind of lagoon around each stone? I like the look, but I think I appreciate the texture more, I wouldn't want it to be sharp but just some smooth little studs. Like braille, kinda. Also, braille rings for blind people would be awesome too. And how hard would it be to make a multi-finger ring, like brass knuckles? Oh, and what about bracelets, or rings that connect to bracelets with a chain? I'm going to stop asking questions now, or this might get stupid long. Keep up the awesome work, I look forward to the next rings!
Please would you either list the products you use, or pause each item in front of the camera long enough for me to see what it is? For instance, what did you seal the ring with at the end? And does it have to have a UV bath, or will daylight cure it?
realy beutifull design.. i wonder if you can make some nebula style effect to portions of the ring as well as make it all the way inside and out galaxy style. (so you dont see the core)
6 ปีที่แล้ว
i've been making bentwood rings for a long time and thought i came up with some very innovative, unique, and superior methods, but you've taken it to another level. when will your etsy shop open up again?
I like the way the ring looks with those size opals. It's really stunning. I'm wondering how you crush opals to get that size; I work with resin and would love to put some in my pieces.
New subscriber here. This is an amazing looking piece yet I'd really like to see what you suggested at the end about using smaller opals. I think it would look awesome and hope to see a remake vid sometime soon. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent job 👍 I like all your work & would love to own 1 of your masterpieces some day soon, unfortunately I am unemployed at this time 😔. Anyways, I'm fascinated with your logo design stamped in the inlay, do you have a video showing that process? If not, there's a fan of yours right here that would enjoy seeing that added into 1 of your next videos. Again, great work & I hope you have a Merry Christmas brother, Bless & Be Blessed.
Love your rings there awesome, told my gf when we get married i want one of youre rings. Love the red opal one on your site.. do you size them when someone orders from youre site

Awesome video, my daughters and I love to watch these. Your attention to detail in both your ring making and videos is encouraging to me. Keep doing this!!
Love watching a craftsman who is an expert at his craft. Mad props man.
Wow. That is amazing. In the beginning the opal chunks were white and the finish product were so colourful. Awesome.
I turn bowls, boxes etc, sometimes with resin and although not my thing I love watching your creations, they are beautiful and its a break away from my normal viewing. I will have to watch a few more videos as I am beginning to get really interested. thank you very inspirational

This is gorgeous! My engagement ring was opal and I was looking for a way to incorporate opal into a wedding band, this would be perfect
This is an out of this world ring. Your so creative and do some beautiful work.

I really like the bigger opal chunks. Smaller ones might look more like sand. Beautiful ring.
Absolutely amazing ring!! I love the opals on there but I can understand what you mean about using smaller ones. Still looks awesome!
That is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. I would wear that with pride. Thanks for Sharing.
This is beyond beautiful! I love opals. :P

Vacuum chambers pull out the bubbles while pressure pots make them smaller. 1:58

I actually like the large opal pieces in it. I think they stand out more than if you did smaller chips.
Very nice! Would love more info, in future video, about the UV bath you use.
Started out watching videos about rare gemstones and ended up here, pleased I did💎
You do gorgeous work! I do mostly beadwork and metal collage work, but this is inspiring! Beautiful!
Great work man I enjoy your videos

This must be the coolest hobby EVER!!!🤩 I would really love doing something like this😁 But I looks like an expensive start up with all the equipment, tools and material.
Excellent craftsmanship and video . Where do you purchase supplies. Been very disappointed with present supplier.

really satisfying to watch
also, I love the music :) matches the process
love the shining effect good one....
Great idea and ring!

It is surface sealant for teeth. Light ; osram dulux L blue 18 watt. Hope to help you
Where did you get the small opal chunks?
Beautiful work!
I haven't watched your channel before, I really loved the videos I have seen,
this is amazing man, keep doing such videos but plz make it with easy equipments
Like that.
Two questions:
Which lathe do you use?
What's better for getting rid of bubbles - pressure or vacuum?
Love the ring... great work.... where do you get the resin from... cheers
That's fantastic work ..so relaxing to watch ...
