The Supreme is just an upgraded Giganto
aside from the tedious last minute change in gameplay style to bullet hell for The End this reminds me of Star Fox 64 to an extent. when you deal the final blow The End doesn't say it but it clearly was thinking the way Andross did in Star Fox 64 when you defeat his true form and Chip/Light Gaia from Sonic Unleashed after you deal the final blow to Perfect Dark Gaia. the former is the line of thought along the lines of "If I go down I'm taking you with me." while the latter is that a new friend sacrifices himself/herself to save Sonic at the last moment.
Man it sucks! Ian Flynn said he wanted Hyper Sonic to appear in Frontiers to fight against The End but Sonic Team said no! And it's because that they didn't want it to be like Dragon Ball Z due to the higher level forms!
I really hope the final DLC gives us a new form at least. Super Sonic is amazing and all, but I think it's about time we got something new
I hate that they said that cause really they could’ve just said it was from sonic 3 and knuckles it was fan requested a lot aswell

if you play as super sonic (mod) you can fly and don’t lose rings(unless you hit those things) and if you play as hyper sonic (mod) you can fly and don’t lose rings but only hyper sonic defeat bosses meanwhile super sonic defeat guardians

One very little known thing is that I think the End boss fight was originally intended to turn you into Hyper Sonic but was scrapped

Seriously, there is no real point in having playable super forms outside of boss levels other than spectacle. It takes the challenge away & It gets old real fast. Plus the over reliance of Super Sonic in Sonic games makes the form not feel as special. I think it's time we take a break from the chaos emeralds for a long while unless it involves their origin.
Sonic is a nomadic character, fundamentally. There are bound to be tons of other adventures the writers can come up with that Sonic can solo. Maybe he can meet new characters or old characters we haven't seen in a while or in game before. Maybe he could stumble upon a new mystical Item that doesn't involve a transformation adds something to the platforming mechanics.
The emeralds weren't part or forces or colors there are frequent breaks
@@MisterRegretti But Super Sonic is still playable in those games. Again there is no point in the form anymore outside of plot because all it does is give you invincibility, makes you faster, and makes you look cool. It mostly takes away the challenge of platforming. Super Sonic, outside of boss big climactic boss fights, is boring.
@@MarzOnline92 ngl I get what you're saying. But I think it would be better if they kept Super Sonic until after the main game and final boss. (Like how Generations handled it.) And the mystical object idea would be fun to explore!
I'm glad that frontiers is about the chaos emeralds origin but seriously, sonic relying WAY too much on those shiny gems.
I kinda get what you’re saying, but honestly, I kinda enjoyed how they switched it up and brought Super Sonic out before the TRUE Final Boss. It really showed just the kind of powerful enemies he was up against.
Not to mention the whole new combat system which made it feel like you’re actually *FIGHTING* the enemies instead of just using Sonic’s speed to repeatedly dodge or sidestep their attacks just so you can occasionally get close enough to attack one weak point, and then start over. Not that I never enjoyed that style of play, but I’m glad they found a way to switch it up and show how much of a unit Sonic can be in his base form AND his Super form (overused or not).
But to each their own.
