Mum and baby are both gorgeous, really pretty lil faces. the baby chirps always make my sour twisted soul turn into mush. Yet another case to keep my paws crossed for.
To all who come here, enjoy the batties, and love the work Meg and crew do, please monthly donate to support these earth angels keep saving lives! To those who already do, bless you! Those who can't right now, bless you all too. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The way the bats try to protect momma and babe. Omg Fizz is adorable ❤ bless momma bat, shes beautiful. I'm glad this was resolved for now, I hope treatment helps her get on the mend. Great job Meg, Vets & carers ❤❤❤
I loved re-watching this video!😃 The happiness of the baby going back to Mum after X-rays & injection was sweet. I also loved the sound back at the Aviary of the Bats walking across the cage tops, it's cool!🦇🤗🥰
Best way to make the Finicky and Suspicious mom eat a healthy breakfast? Make it all the rage in the cage! I love the way they look at you in the beginning while you're trying to separate them from their groups to get to Bubbles; that absolute _"Excuse me,_ I was here first!!" as you butt-scoop them along had me cackling.
It's a matter of separating the meerkat jury who look at you like you're guilty of everything in life, and with their eyes, condemn you to lifetime servitude. They find safety in the scrum and are united in their defiance of the human kidnappers.
What a precious pair of batties, Bubbles is definitely doing a good job keeping her baby safe from the giants. They sure didn't put any effort into making it easy to collect them though, silly bunch of bats. I'm guessing they cluster up like that, even though they're closer to you, to make it hard to pick out any one from the group or to hide momma and baby away behind the inverted meerkat jury?
Exactly. Its the same thing pretty much any social or herd animals do. If youre in a giant mass of moving and annoyed beings, its harder for any one individual to be grabbed by a predator (or a bat carer in this case). Lots of beings do this, or a form of it. If an American Bison is injured and goes down, the others stand in a circle shoulder to shoulder facing outward around it until it either gets back up or its clear it wont be getting back up. And those things are living tanks. They make an angry bull look like a skinny fawn. Great strategy to ward off all but the nost determined predators Some cervids run in a huge swirling circle of hundreds of members with their young and pregnant females towards the center of the mass. Its crazy to watch.
Was that the vet practice that I visited with you, Meg? The room looked familiar, including hiding behind the door during x-ray. I hope little Fizz grows up to be a healthy and happy batty with a very proud mum Bubbles.
It's nice that mum was able to support her baby at the vets office. You can tell they have a special bond. How precious they are and I wish them healing and good health. Thanks Meg. 💕🦇💕🦇🍼😊
I am so happy , that.a solution was found for these 2 beautiful batties. And it's a relatively easy solution for all the bats! I'm going to need that recipe Meg....😅...the calcium pills I'm supposed to swallow are horse sized! If you want some to crudh....I have several bottles I'd be happy to send for you😂 😇❤️🖤🦇🖤❤️ Still have plenty of stock folks....jewelry and lights! 😇❤️
Mumbats are very protective of their babies, so they don't like letting you handle them. Fizz has grown up with humans around her, so she is less wary. In general these bats are very cooperative.
Bats are apparently 1/4 chirp & squeak and 3/4 Velcro! No wonder they can hang so effortlessly! What do the wings feel like? They look so soft and supple, like they should feel like velvety leather.
Omg it’s like herding cats on a hot day haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Kinda of funny but I know it’s frustrating. I remember a mom came into a store with two kids a baby and a three year old. The three year old starting running and mom caught him and he said mommy. My feet just started running haaaaaaaaaaaa. Good answer I thought for a little one.
@@Megabattie, Not like we were. These kids are on their cell phones, playing games. We were off climbing trees and jumping off roofs, falling off horses, wiping out on our skateboards, and all the other scar making activities we enjoyed. I can’t believe the high dives they let us practice diving on.
@@SuziQ. We're lucky we survived childhood... we used to shimmy under the barbed wire fence and race across the sewer pipes over the river, no safety net, 30 feet above the most toxic water; ride bikes in the dark; I even rode my bike around a roundabout the wrong way in Holland when I followed my brother, who forgot which side of the road we should be riding on, being Aussies, we drive on the left here. It was freezing cold, icy roads, and the bikes were heavy iron bikes, far too heavy for me to manage easily, and adult size. This was 55 years ago, but I still remember coming face to face with oncoming traffic in the almost dark of the the afternoon in winter.
As much as I love that idea, Mandi doesn't have space for every single batty. A lot of her permanent residents are there as educational animals, with (i think i'm remembering right) a licence for each one. The rest are rehab and release. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that the calcium and sunshine will work it's magic over the next few weeks
Hi Linda: Maggie doesn't have anything to do with the bats after they leave my care (she just helps me with the feeds in baby season). I'm Meg. And Mandi lives 1200 kms north of me; the old dudes are in her care. She can't take more permanent care animals; they have to be licensed and she can't get a licence for more than the ones she's already got.
I always feel so bad ... as we try to help wildlife - they are terrified, not knowing that your hands are kind hands. May all the batties you are caring for do really well.
Mumbat has been in care for a while so she's fairly OK with being handled or approached, since her experience with humans has been relatively positive, however she has a baby and she's very territorial and very aggressive or anxious about us being near her precious.
Maybe the reason mom didn't give you a hard time taking her baby off her was because mom sensed there was something wrong with her bub and knew you were going to help her. That, and all the bats know who you are, Meg. 🦇
Mum was too far gone to do anything; she was protecting her baby when she was fighting me at the beginning but she wasn't in any condition to think it out like that. She was dying and baby was dying.
@@nataliakhomenko5325 It's not the Audio - that's perfectly fine english. It's the video description, the text, which is driving me bonkers. It's translated to german - and in an almost 1:1 fashion. Everything is off. :(
Oh they do; they bite hard and don't let go; a bat bite isn't a fun thing. Mumbat has been in care for about 6 weeks so she's fairly used to people; baby just hangs out on mum and doesn't understand about humans and danger. Also, Mumbat's had valium so she isn't so stressed by this; they really don't like having their babies taken off them, even for a look, or support feed, or for an xray
@ thank you so much so like I said, they are cute little buggers, but I wouldn’t handle them lol you taught me a lesson but then again I live in Hershy Pennsylvania the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country and the sweetest place on earth
Thanks Meg! Baby Fizz is so precious and Mumbat Bubbles definitely loves her bubba!🩶🦇🤗🦇💕💕 I am very relieved there was no need to euthanize baby Fizz!😳 Hopefully with supplements and sunshine, later X-rays will show an improvement.
I love how the baby did excited chirps when she was given back to her mom. 💕

You win the internet today! Tweethearts! Love it!
Aaaaaaaaa 😂😂 Love it! ❤❤
You are doing research, for the benefit of all batties. They will all get more help because of the wonderful care you are giving.🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm just the taking to the vet person; she and her mum are getting daily extra care from her carer.

Love from Italy ❤ thanky you 🙏 for all you do for them 🦇🦇🦇🦇
Bubble's baby is so gorgeous, she wants to be with her mum❤❤❤❤
Fingers crossed that the supplements solve the bone problems with little Fizz. She is a real cutie, and Bubbles is a great batmom. ❤️🦇❤️🦇❤️🦇❤️
Thank you, wonderful person, for caring about living beings
Hope Fizz can recover with the aid of extra calcium, great that the mums love the smoothies. ❤

Question:
Do bats know you are friends?
Mumbats are very protective of their babies, so they don't like letting you handle them. Fizz has grown up with humans around her, so she is less wary. In general these bats are very cooperative.

Bats are apparently 1/4 chirp & squeak and 3/4 Velcro! No wonder they can hang so effortlessly!

The wing membrane feels like your eyelids - soft and elastic and very fine.
