If it was caused only by the sound, then how come both times we've seen the corruption thing portrayed, it was accompanied by a bright light? Besides, even if it is just the sound, Greg is still the audio daddio. Hell, that whole episode was about how Greg can be useful to the gems. Foreshadowing, perhaps? He hasn't done anything for them since them.
If fusion with all gems works the same way fusion did with Connie and Steven and Sapphire and Ruby in Mindful Education, Steven can maybe use that connection to help heal corrupted gems by fusing with them while they're half corrupted and mostly conscious like Centipeedle was. It's a way to get in to the mind in the most empathetic way possible outside of his dream powers, which only work in human dreams at this point. Just a thought!
I feel Rose couldn't heal corruptions for the sole reason that they were from homeworld. but she never hated homeworld. however, that was before they killed all her friends in the flash. so she couldn't bring herself to forgive them. which is partially why she gave herself up to give birth to steven. because he was a fresh mind with no memory of the war
not true its been stated that when the corruption event happend roses shield was what saved he 2 close friends being garnet and pearl but there were more crystal gems but rose could only protect garnet and pearl. plus if the crystal gems were just rose garnet and pearl then that would mean they would have lost the war and home world would have had no reason to use a secret weapon to finish off the crystal gems infact they gave an order to have everyone retreat back to home world. some of corrupted gems are probably from home world but most of them were crystal gems.

If the song from the diamonds is what caused the widespread corruption, what if Steven and the Gems manage to play the song in reverse which would theoretically make the effects in reverse
Well we aren't sure if it is a song, and I'm not sure just doing something in reverse can fix it. Kind of like blowing up a bomb backwards to fix something, doesn't really make sense

I like the idea of the "corruption not even mattering" route I have. The Runner Corrupted Gem seemed quite easily befriended by Peridot when she attempted "dancing" with it. And Centipeedle while "buggy" actually formed a cat-owner relationship. I would love it if all of the corrupted gems could be befriended by Steven and take the fight to Homeworld. Pokemon style.
i think jasper got Corrupted not because she fused with a Corrupted gem but because she thinks she's forever alone and can't make/keep a connection with anyone. that's what i think Corrupted her she can't stand to be alone. kinda the same with garnet only i think they have a good handle on it but im not 100% on that. also centieetle got recorrupted because she had to relive the events of what happen to her crew and herself. if steven didn't ask what happened she might have stayed in that half Corrupted form for a little while longer. long enough for steven to enter her mind and try to fix her
I think centi got re corrupted because the healing spit got out of her eye because centi was crying and her gem is her eye so if you put the healing spit on an eye then it cries the spit will come out of the eye. So since the healing spit is not on centi eye it lost it effect.

I believe that Jasper corrupted because her mind was weak. Obviously fusing with a corrupted gem can cause this, but what if it only happens because their mind is hurt and corruption preys on the mind turning on itself.

I think Steven will go into the mind of a corrupted gem and find that inside its mind, it's gem is actually cracked, or even shattered. I then think Steven will heal that crack/shattering, and uncorrupt the gem. BTW, Steven SHATTERS a plate and says that he can heal a SHATTERED plate in Monster Reuinion.

Although I also am wondering if his healing powers will work on gems who are beginning to become corrupted, such as Jasper in "Earthlings". I believe so because Steven can heal corrupted gems about halfway. Since Jasper was half corrupted, the spit could heal that half and therefore, Jasper's corruption would have stopped. I could be wrong, though.
While "partial = partial" logic like that is usually foolish, it's probably safe to say that Steven _might_ have been able to save Jasper if she let him, and that he almost certainly would have, at minimum, slowed the corruption.
Jasper may not be fully corrupted. Here are some observations I noticed: -Jasper's gem isn't altered -Jasper corruption started when she started thinking stressful/unhealthy thoughts, and it only got worse when she was put under more stress (which is why it really started spreading when she was freaking out at Steven) -Centipeedle's recorruption only happened when she was under enough stress from remembering everything and started freaking out My conclusion: Jasper may only be partially corrupted, but her physical form may become temporarily more corrupted when she's under stress. True, Centipeedle didn't revert when she found her crew, but she was already fully corrupted. Jasper may not have been.
Timothy McLean If you look carefully, that actually didn't happen until after she fell from the sky after defusing (look at her arm while she's trying to refuse in the tornado), which was also probably a moment of great stress.
about Steven's healing powers I was also thinking that he can only heal things he has a deep emotional connection with and you guys rock love your theories and that ultimate collab you did with Skywardwing and Roundtable
I think that the fusion-corruption-healing is a great idea and would easily fit into the show. When Jasper was trying to fuse with a corrupted gem, yes it worked but not for very long. This could actually be seen as she had no actual connection with the corrupted gem, either as a corrupted gem or before then. Steven, however, probably cared for Jasper even slightly since he did want to heal her, and as we all know, for a fusion to stay together, everyone needs to at least get along. My next, and probably most important point on how fusion-corruption-healing could fit is because of what Jasper said when the corrupted gem she tried to fuse with ran away. Despite not knowing her exact words off the top of my head, I know she said something like "nobody I ever fuse with ever stays." This would fit it perfectly and make a really emotional moment if she and Steven were to fuse and heal her, they'd probably come out of it no longer enemies. I'm not quite sure how the healing would work, but technically being a part of her would surely be something. He would probably fuse with her (on purpose or by accident when trying to help her) then either talk to her to spit on her. But the other gems would definitely be against him fusing with her since when Jasper fused with a corrupted gem, she became corrupted. But that also just adds more to the plot!
Just a bit of a (pretty long) theory: What if corruption feeds on anger (and or extreme feelings)? kinda like the goo stuff that covers Venom. Anger is said to "corrupt" ones thinking and heart. Like, Jasper loathes earth and it's inhabitants and all the gems that were left on earth were probably full of raw emotion (anger, abandonment, betrayal, etc.) when they were blasted by the diamonds (at the end of the Gem War). To sum up my incoherent rambling, it's pretty much "make love not war". Rose's rebellion stood for love, self empowerment, and acceptence. Homeworld instills hatred, intollerance, and prejudice against defects and fusions. It's not just about Rose's/Steven's healing powers that could fix corruption, in addition, I think they would have to teach these Gems how to love and trust again. Just like with Centipeedle, Steven taught her to trust him and he befriended her before he attempted to heal her. There is probably a lot of untapped emotions in these sickly Gems, one only needs to show kindness and understanding, which is what Steven is aught to do. here's a question that needs to be answered: could rose quartz speak to Steven via her room? Because in "Rose's room" right at the end we hear a female voice, presumably Rose, asking what Steven wants, and if I'm not wrong, one of the creators had said that Rose is still with them. this seems to be confirmed in "lion 3 straight to video" where rose tell Steven that every moment he spends loving himself that's her loving him and loving being him. not to mention in the show's Canon even when the gem is cracked or shattered it is still conscious in some way shape or form. so even if Rose couldn't not be there physically her conscience would still be there this is still apparent with the episode "know your Fusion" where sardonyx comments on her room saying as long as I exist the room exists so if Rose wasn't there consciously Rose's room wouldn't look like it does or how it did in "story for Steven". I bring this up because of recent episodes Steven has either questioned his mother's motives or fearing he could not live up to her potential and as we seen in "catch and release" we seen Steven asking the room to speak to peridot so what's the stop him for when he's really down while in the room asking his mother for some kind of advice and/or if she really did something bad... and she answered.
I don't think he directly tried it but I think he did it because when jasper was being corrupted she swiped at steven and he had his spit in his hand and he covered the area with his hand and after he moved his hands his shirt was ripped so I think he healed himself then
i remember the claw swipe corrupted jasper made towards steven, he was about to try healing jasper but when she attacked him she cut his shirt, i think she did more than just cut his shirt. i think she managed to cut him too, buy the spit on his hand healed him. it at least sounds possible to me
I love this theory tying in with how Steven's powers are linked to his emotions. It totally fits with who he's managed to fuse with, as well! As a half human, it makes sense that his magic manifests a little differently than his mother's, all though her powers also seemed to link to emotions. But with a human body, it makes sense that Steven's powers do not first make themselves known through sheer will (especially when taking into consideration that gems experience no adolescence and are formed as full-functioning 'adults', and that human adolescence is charged with emotional flux.)

Here's the thing, gems seldom dream, so maybe Rose could have even kind of healed corruption if she had tapped and harnessed that. Albeit not as strongly as Steven probably will and here's the why, it is known that humans undergo several stages of sleep and different kinds of thoughts and thought frequencies are involved in this process, so maybe there's a part of the gem energy and the human nature that makes some abilities resonate and flourish in great ways.
I have the awnser, Era 1 Peridots had more powers than Era 2 Peridots so Era 2 Peridots got limb enchancers to balance their power with Era 1 Peridots.

I think the reason why Steven couldn't heal 'The Galaxy Warp' and 'The Geode' is because they aren't living things. Connie, Lapis and Greg are all living things, so that's why they got healed.
The background music gets really distracting past about 3 or 4 minutes in. But very interesting theory! I definitely agree that Steven's emotions about the corrupted gems (especially after learning to cope with his what he perceived as his failures in Mindful Education) will end up leading him to be able to heal them.
I have a feeling that the cluster will start migrating to reform into whole gems, maybe even their former selves. All from the help Steven started while he was there. I also think the "cure" will be found by Steven and Greg working together with their sound system. Just a couple of my ideas. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
I'm pretty sure the pink lion has to be corrupted pink diamond. Probably healed by Rose quartz to the extent of her ability. I expect for Steven to at some point heal her.
Maybe the cure is a mix of both physical and mental healing that needs to happen in quick succession for the corrupted gem in question. Like with centibeetle, the physical stabilizing of her form simply was not enough to make her no longer corrupted, as she wanted to be completely healed, but emotionally deteriorated quickly as memories began flooding back triggering the re-emergence of the corruption afflicting her. Same happens with jasper, she had a very quick decline in the stability of her physical form when she began to have a mental break down and the corruption began taking root in her form. A possibility to maybe save them is a combination of of steven's dream and healing powers to first, rehabilitate the gems in the bubble room, then physically heal those gems and keep a constant eye on the gem to make sure that their emotional state didn't simply deteriorate once healed due to emotional break down.
my thoughts about corruption have been that its more of a mental problem then a physical one. Perl recently said, "My appearance is just a conscious manifestation of light" so if you went through something traumatic and because of that didn't know who you are or had any idea about your sense of self, that physical manifestation might look like a centipede. Jasper getting defeated because of a "cheap trick" fusion over and over again caused her to start losing herself and get corrupted. i would think that if you would want to cure a corrupted gem then you need to be able to do it mentally, ether by going to their mind and working out the trauma or by fusing and dealing with it the way Garnet does and the say Stevevonnie was able to.
I think one of Steven's fusions will end up being the one with the ability to truly cure corruption. He has physical healing powers, but he would also need someone else to help amplify that and give it the mental/emotional twist needed to cure corruption. Personally, I want to lean towards Garnet, because she just GETS emotion, due to being a fusion of two gems with very different personalities and responses to emotional distress who absolutely love the hell out of each other. She is the embodiment of those emotions.
I literally have gotten hooked on the show because I can't stop thinking about my own questions and theories. Stevens real healing power is in his ability to help the gems with PTSD, from the war, extreme depression, and anxiety... And the damages with his magic spit... You know just hawk a Loogie into the eye of the homeless cripple, so he can get up and beat your ass for spitting in his eye... Don't spit on random people waiting for the bus, they don't like it.
One of the nice things about this, and some indie games, show is that not everyone gets a "happy" ending, and what I mean is that we get something that leaves us unsatisfied. I honestly think that the corrupted gems will remain corrupted. The number of new gems would be overwhelming, and plot wise, it might be better to leave them as they are. It creates a unique character arc. If anything, I would at least want to see Steven to train a few though his dream powers.
I don't know, I think music is the key to healing corruption. Music is such a huge part of the show. If the corruption song corrupted Gems, perhaps a different type of song heals them.

Corruption is a Tear in the Mind according to Garnet meaning they are in a sort of depressive state of loss. So, that would mean that the way to fix corruption would be to reassure or heal them in a way that they can believe/trust in themselves and others. To do that you would either have to talk to them like counseling and or when Steven grows up to use healing spit. the reason he needs to grow up is because he is still a teenager going through human puberty which most should know can be a very unsure time for some, you are trying to find who you are and it wouldn't be easy to heal and reassure someone if you are unsure yourself. the reason he could partial uncorrupt centi was because he was sure that that was what he wanted to do however he started to doubt himself when he was learning why centi got corrupted so when she was starting to corrupt more he couldn't stop it. So, in conclusion once Steven Grows up/Matures more he will be able to perma semiuncorrupt gems to the point where they can then listen to their stories of how they became corrupted and reassure/comfort them trough the rest of their uncorruption returning them to their natural state of mind, body and (soul?)

'mc bear bear! uve got a tear tear!' followed by 'a tear of the mind' steven will enter the corrupted gems minds while sleeping and use his healing spit to heal a cut or tear in the fabric of the gems consciousness! think of a malachite realm with a giant tear in the background, and steven healing it
I also think your second theory is more plausible---there's a reason we've been getting a lot of dream travel stories with Steven and I feel like it's to build up to this eventual discovery. Once the mind's fixed, THEN Steven could use his healing powers to fix the body. That's personally what I think the cure will be.
I think that music and sound will be the key to healing corrupted gems. I think that, if the fusion that would be created by garnet, pearl, amethyst, and Steven/rosequartz were to sing, it would heal corrupted gems that are close enough. Or if Greg were to find a specific frequency and they emitted a tone at that frequency, it would heal the corrupted gems. After all, it was a flash of light and some sound made by the diamonds that caused the corruption in the first place.
I feel as though music is a very important part of this. Notice how steven called that white light a "song" in monster reunion. Also centipeetle didnt remeber anything until she remembered the chaaaps jingle where here memories came back, but as she thought of the "song" that corrupted her it got stuck in her head again. Also notice as she is running towards her ship she covers her ears (where they would be) as if she can hear the song. I dont know if this is a fact but there is alot of evidence in this theory.
i dig the fusion as a way to heal corruption, if the diamonds launch the corruption beam again it can a a epic way of taking all 3 at once, steven going on a fusion spree and growing like a katimari to the point the 3 diamonds are like specs of sand
it's like insanity you need to overcome your inner flaws, before you can truly heal.what I'm suggesting is that Steven using the dream abilities to get in a corrupted gem and figure out inner flaws, and address the real problem, like therapy in a sense
I thought (still think) that the reason Steven was unaffected by the gem destabilizers was that because he is partly human, he has a true physical form. You never see him "poofed", and every time he shapeshifts, he grows rather then changing completely.
I subscribe to the Astral Projectile is the cure theory. It can't be the healing spit otherwise Rose would have already done it as she had thousands of years to try and never could, and her healing powers were far greater then Stevens. But like Garnet and Pearl says, corruption is not physical damage, it's mental. Same deal with Pink Diamond or whatevers left of her, if that were true it should have already happened but didn't. Fusion is an interesting idea that does play into his biology, but I doubt that will work since fusion requires a degree of participation on both parties part, and while some corrupted gems can give that consent, most won't give Steven the opportunity to fuse with them, and it's not in his character for force the issue. But Astral Projectile ticks all of these boxes, it's something Rose couldn't do and would never have thought of doing, as it is a direct result of Stevens biology, and was born as a result of sleep, a very human thing to do. It attacks the problem directly, the affliction of the mind by going into it, like when he did with The Cluster. And it's been shown that he doesn't need consent or to put himself in harms way in order to go into their mind, and can do so with a conscious effort. I believe that this method has the most evidence supporting it atm.
The thing about healing corruption is that I think it will be something that he has two for each gem specifically. Like since he knows Jasper and centipedal he can go into there heads and find a way through astral projection.
it is clear that a sound or a voice (probebly a song) of the diamond can couse corraption,singing is a big part of SU (plus,Steven shiled can make a sound that seems to cancel other gem abilitys) maybe Steven's singing can cure corraption
spit is made of same compound of tears, how they are healed: steven comes in the gems mind and go through their important history, he will consult where the Crack of the mind is located and use healing spit. after that steven will use healing spit on the gem or fuse for jasper since she hates herself and fusing with steven will give her the feeling of love and self confidence she needs. much like pearl with garnet when they fuse to make sardonix.
I think the gem's corruption is more like an infection. It makes sense seeing as Jasper caught it immediately after being in "contact" with one. Maybe his spit is only the weakest form of his healing and his tears are what can truly heal things.
I think that - like most of his other cop-outs - Steven will be able to use his uncorrupteable human half to shield both him and a miscellaneous corrupted gem when fused, healing them. Like fusing with humans, his gem half being able to turn his human half into light means he can also turn other humans into light, allowing them to fuse. Steven's full of complicated cop-outs on both sides!
I feel like Steven has abilities that have yet to be drawn out because he has never truly had to rely on them. I believe one of those powers is the ability to heal corrupted gems. I think this power will come out when someone from the Crystal Gems becomes corrupted. I could see situations where Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, Lapis, Perry and even Lion get corrupted. The diamonds have taken notice of the Crystal Gems and I believe all these non-combative episodes are making us forget that the Diamonds are aware of the Crystal Gems, and probably still pissed about not having a cluster to destroy other planets with. A scene I would really love to see is them invading, playing their corruption song and all of the Crystal Gems becoming corrupted right in front of him. Lion way whisk him out and seeing no other choice he will turn to Bismuth and open the treasure box in Lion's mane. Honestly the first gem he uncorrupts could be Jasper, as Steven will need her help to battle the diamonds. Once he does it once then it can be done again. I really feel like Steven has to hit rock bottom. I really feel like Steven needs to understand breaking, to understand fixing. I love when this show has its light hearted, fun feel to it, but when it gets dark and raw, it is so much better. I wanna see Steven go through pain and despair, because when he ultimately succeeds it will be so much better. The scenario is second to the underlying theme of the scenario, the theme that stars shine brightest in the dark.
Also, with jasper being corrupted in the fashion that she did really makes me think that the corruption is just one massive allegory for STDs and the end of the gem wars for earth being the bomb shell that the disease exist and many were caught off guard by it because they didn't know and became the beast spreading the disease to untold numbers of gems one way or another, though fusion seems pretty sure fire way to get corrupted. That or a very odd allegory for something else entirely. But I the STD idea has a solid basis in my opinion.
I had often thought how Rose admired humans' ability to 'grow and invent' played as a key reason for having a child with Greg. She might've wanted to give birth to Steven in order to 'change and grow', as in to become stronger than she was made to be in her original permanence. To have an heir to heal all those who were shattered or corrupted by Homeworld, after trying to for millennia after the Gem War. Steven seem to be having some of her original abilities as well as is developing new ones that she might not have had as a pure quartz gem.
I think corruption is less of garnets literal meaning and more based off something else. I think the corrupted monsters could almost be described as special needs kids, with their inability to speak sometimes, and the fact that they do things that they are aware of but unsure of why they do it. So if Steven tried to heal them he wouldn't have to heal a literal tear in the mind, but a mental tear that makes it harder to think, Steven would have to clear their mind of their jumbled thoughts than maybe they'd be healed. Anyways, just a thought.
personally since the diamonds apparently corrupted the gems with a song, and given how Steven is a musical savant and SU is big on music, I think the cure would also be a song. possibly sung in the mind tho.
I think Steven's dream powers will be the key for healing gems from corruption. As Garnet said the corruption is more a mental problem than a physical one. That means it will be harder to fix something that isn't material so it won't be as easy as healing a cracked gem. But maybe in the future episodes Steven will control his psychic powers better than he does now and he'll be able to enter gems minds and heal them from the inside. Not like going in their mind and use his magic spit there but maybe something like what M'gann did in Aqualad's mind in season 2 of the Young justice series.(When she fixed it not when she was f*cking with his head)
Not bad I like to think that corrupted gems look the way they do is from extreme mental breakdown seeing as how their physical forms are a manifestation of their will.
I believe that the answer to fixing corrupted gems has already been told in previous episodes. Remember Steven ability to project into the minds of other gems? and garnet saying the its the fabric of the mind that has been torn? Back when they bobbled the cluster was the first instant where the cure could take place because Steven was talking to the mind of the shattered gems and got them to bubble each other. I don't believe that there is a "cure" yet know for undoing the corruption but I believe Steven's projection power is the key to fixing it because of that connection in the mind. The place where corruption is where garnet said to be.
Here's a thought, and I'm sure it's been pondered before, but what if the corrupted gems are fusions in and of themselves? Not with other gems, but with organic matter. Looking at the great many corrupted gems we've seen, a lot of similarities can be drawn between them and various animals on earth. Centipettle, the corruptions Jasper fused with seemed to display wolf or dog like aesthetics, the invisible beast on mask island seemed a bit like an ape in what we could see in silhouette. And it's not like we haven't seen gems fused with organic matter before, I mean look at Steven. And given the mean streak that The Diamonds have towards inter-gem fusing and the Earth, it would make sense that in their ultimate act of spiteful vengeance is to basically boil it down to "You like the organic life on this planet so much? You can fuse with it!" Garnet described the corruption as not just being a matter of physical damage, but mental damage too, having your mind fused with that of an animal, one that would only express strong base desires (food, shelter, territory, fear, confusion, etc) would wear on anyone's mind. And if it's a permanent fusion, then it would explain why centipettle was only partly healed, the bug would still be a part of her. Where my theory might not hold water is in the case of Jasper, she fused with a corrupted gem, and during that time was in control, but given that she hadn't spent five thousand years as a dog, it wold make sense her personality would be so dominant. What the issue is comes in after she was no longer fused with the corrupted gem, when she became corrupted herself through the fusion. It begs the question that if organic matter is the crux of corruption, then how can it remain in a gem that is no longer fused?
Garnet said corruption is a "tear of the mind", it indicates that it's basically Gem Insanity. I think that Steven first has to create a relationship with the corrupted gem, making them peaceful and trustworthy towards him. And then, he has to make then remember their memories, and to give them happiness. I think that when he does all that, he has to go into their minds and fix "the tear."
I think it's possible that the Diamonds have songs that act as weapons and all individually have different effects on Gems, while together they create a flawless Diamond song. But because Pink Diamond has been shattered the song is not complete and is flawed making their song corrupt hence forth the name corrupted gems

If fusion with all gems works the same way fusion did with Connie and Steven and Sapphire and Ruby in Mindful Education, Steven can maybe use that connection to help heal corrupted gems by fusing with them while they're half corrupted and mostly conscious like Centipeedle was. It's a way to get in to the mind in the most empathetic way possible outside of his dream powers, which only work in human dreams at this point. Just a thought!

I like the idea of the "corruption not even mattering" route I have. The Runner Corrupted Gem seemed quite easily befriended by Peridot when she attempted "dancing" with it. And Centipeedle while "buggy" actually formed a cat-owner relationship. I would love it if all of the corrupted gems could be befriended by Steven and take the fight to Homeworld. Pokemon style.
i think jasper got Corrupted not because she fused with a Corrupted gem but because she thinks she's forever alone and can't make/keep a connection with anyone. that's what i think Corrupted her she can't stand to be alone. kinda the same with garnet only i think they have a good handle on it but im not 100% on that. also centieetle got recorrupted because she had to relive the events of what happen to her crew and herself. if steven didn't ask what happened she might have stayed in that half Corrupted form for a little while longer. long enough for steven to enter her mind and try to fix her
I think centi got re corrupted because the healing spit got out of her eye because centi was crying and her gem is her eye so if you put the healing spit on an eye then it cries the spit will come out of the eye. So since the healing spit is not on centi eye it lost it effect.

I think Steven will go into the mind of a corrupted gem and find that inside its mind, it's gem is actually cracked, or even shattered. I then think Steven will heal that crack/shattering, and uncorrupt the gem. BTW, Steven SHATTERS a plate and says that he can heal a SHATTERED plate in Monster Reuinion.
That was a pretty big hint in hindsight that Steven's healing powers are more potent than they seem.

Although I also am wondering if his healing powers will work on gems who are beginning to become corrupted, such as Jasper in "Earthlings". I believe so because Steven can heal corrupted gems about halfway. Since Jasper was half corrupted, the spit could heal that half and therefore, Jasper's corruption would have stopped. I could be wrong, though.
While "partial = partial" logic like that is usually foolish, it's probably safe to say that Steven _might_ have been able to save Jasper if she let him, and that he almost certainly would have, at minimum, slowed the corruption.

Jasper may not be fully corrupted. Here are some observations I noticed:
-Jasper's gem isn't altered
-Jasper corruption started when she started thinking stressful/unhealthy thoughts, and it only got worse when she was put under more stress (which is why it really started spreading when she was freaking out at Steven)
-Centipeedle's recorruption only happened when she was under enough stress from remembering everything and started freaking out
My conclusion:
Jasper may only be partially corrupted, but her physical form may become temporarily more corrupted when she's under stress. True, Centipeedle didn't revert when she found her crew, but she was already fully corrupted. Jasper may not have been.
Weesee Jasper's corruption had started from essentially the moment she unfused from the corrupted Gem (remember her hand/paw?)

I think that the fusion-corruption-healing is a great idea and would easily fit into the show. When Jasper was trying to fuse with a corrupted gem, yes it worked but not for very long. This could actually be seen as she had no actual connection with the corrupted gem, either as a corrupted gem or before then. Steven, however, probably cared for Jasper even slightly since he did want to heal her, and as we all know, for a fusion to stay together, everyone needs to at least get along. My next, and probably most important point on how fusion-corruption-healing could fit is because of what Jasper said when the corrupted gem she tried to fuse with ran away. Despite not knowing her exact words off the top of my head, I know she said something like "nobody I ever fuse with ever stays." This would fit it perfectly and make a really emotional moment if she and Steven were to fuse and heal her, they'd probably come out of it no longer enemies. I'm not quite sure how the healing would work, but technically being a part of her would surely be something. He would probably fuse with her (on purpose or by accident when trying to help her) then either talk to her to spit on her. But the other gems would definitely be against him fusing with her since when Jasper fused with a corrupted gem, she became corrupted. But that also just adds more to the plot!

Just a bit of a (pretty long) theory:
What if corruption feeds on anger (and or extreme feelings)? kinda like the goo stuff that covers Venom.
Anger is said to "corrupt" ones thinking and heart. Like, Jasper loathes earth and it's inhabitants and all the gems that were left on earth were probably full of raw emotion (anger, abandonment, betrayal, etc.) when they were blasted by the diamonds (at the end of the Gem War). To sum up my incoherent rambling, it's pretty much "make love not war". Rose's rebellion stood for love, self empowerment, and acceptence. Homeworld instills hatred, intollerance, and prejudice against defects and fusions. It's not just about Rose's/Steven's healing powers that could fix corruption, in addition, I think they would have to teach these Gems how to love and trust again. Just like with Centipeedle, Steven taught her to trust him and he befriended her before he attempted to heal her. There is probably a lot of untapped emotions in these sickly Gems, one only needs to show kindness and understanding, which is what Steven is aught to do. Thank you to anyone who read this and I am totally okay with being way off:)

here's a question that needs to be answered: could rose quartz speak to Steven via her room? Because in "Rose's room" right at the end we hear a female voice, presumably Rose, asking what Steven wants, and if I'm not wrong, one of the creators had said that Rose is still with them. this seems to be confirmed in "lion 3 straight to video" where rose tell Steven that every moment he spends loving himself that's her loving him and loving being him. not to mention in the show's Canon even when the gem is cracked or shattered it is still conscious in some way shape or form. so even if Rose couldn't not be there physically her conscience would still be there this is still apparent with the episode "know your Fusion" where sardonyx comments on her room saying as long as I exist the room exists so if Rose wasn't there consciously Rose's room wouldn't look like it does or how it did in "story for Steven". I bring this up because of recent episodes Steven has either questioned his mother's motives or fearing he could not live up to her potential and as we seen in "catch and release" we seen Steven asking the room to speak to peridot so what's the stop him for when he's really down while in the room asking his mother for some kind of advice and/or if she really did something bad... and she answered.

i remember the claw swipe corrupted jasper made towards steven, he was about to try healing jasper but when she attacked him she cut his shirt, i think she did more than just cut his shirt. i think she managed to cut him too, buy the spit on his hand healed him. it at least sounds possible to me

I love this theory tying in with how Steven's powers are linked to his emotions. It totally fits with who he's managed to fuse with, as well! As a half human, it makes sense that his magic manifests a little differently than his mother's, all though her powers also seemed to link to emotions. But with a human body, it makes sense that Steven's powers do not first make themselves known through sheer will (especially when taking into consideration that gems experience no adolescence and are formed as full-functioning 'adults', and that human adolescence is charged with emotional flux.)

Here's the thing, gems seldom dream, so maybe Rose could have even kind of healed corruption if she had tapped and harnessed that. Albeit not as strongly as Steven probably will and here's the why, it is known that humans undergo several stages of sleep and different kinds of thoughts and thought frequencies are involved in this process, so maybe there's a part of the gem energy and the human nature that makes some abilities resonate and flourish in great ways.

I think the reason why Steven couldn't heal 'The Galaxy Warp' and 'The Geode' is because they aren't living things. Connie, Lapis and Greg are all living things, so that's why they got healed.

Maybe the cure is a mix of both physical and mental healing that needs to happen in quick succession for the corrupted gem in question. Like with centibeetle, the physical stabilizing of her form simply was not enough to make her no longer corrupted, as she wanted to be completely healed, but emotionally deteriorated quickly as memories began flooding back triggering the re-emergence of the corruption afflicting her. Same happens with jasper, she had a very quick decline in the stability of her physical form when she began to have a mental break down and the corruption began taking root in her form. A possibility to maybe save them is a combination of of steven's dream and healing powers to first, rehabilitate the gems in the bubble room, then physically heal those gems and keep a constant eye on the gem to make sure that their emotional state didn't simply deteriorate once healed due to emotional break down.
my thoughts about corruption have been that its more of a mental problem then a physical one. Perl recently said, "My appearance is just a conscious manifestation of light" so if you went through something traumatic and because of that didn't know who you are or had any idea about your sense of self, that physical manifestation might look like a centipede. Jasper getting defeated because of a "cheap trick" fusion over and over again caused her to start losing herself and get corrupted. i would think that if you would want to cure a corrupted gem then you need to be able to do it mentally, ether by going to their mind and working out the trauma or by fusing and dealing with it the way Garnet does and the say Stevevonnie was able to.

I think one of Steven's fusions will end up being the one with the ability to truly cure corruption. He has physical healing powers, but he would also need someone else to help amplify that and give it the mental/emotional twist needed to cure corruption. Personally, I want to lean towards Garnet, because she just GETS emotion, due to being a fusion of two gems with very different personalities and responses to emotional distress who absolutely love the hell out of each other. She is the embodiment of those emotions.
I literally have gotten hooked on the show because I can't stop thinking about my own questions and theories.
Stevens real healing power is in his ability to help the gems with PTSD, from the war, extreme depression, and anxiety... And the damages with his magic spit... You know just hawk a Loogie into the eye of the homeless cripple, so he can get up and beat your ass for spitting in his eye... Don't spit on random people waiting for the bus, they don't like it.

One of the nice things about this, and some indie games, show is that not everyone gets a "happy" ending, and what I mean is that we get something that leaves us unsatisfied. I honestly think that the corrupted gems will remain corrupted. The number of new gems would be overwhelming, and plot wise, it might be better to leave them as they are. It creates a unique character arc. If anything, I would at least want to see Steven to train a few though his dream powers.
I don't know, I think music is the key to healing corruption. Music is such a huge part of the show. If the corruption song corrupted Gems, perhaps a different type of song heals them.

Corruption is a Tear in the Mind according to Garnet meaning they are in a sort of depressive state of loss. So, that would mean that the way to fix corruption would be to reassure or heal them in a way that they can believe/trust in themselves and others. To do that you would either have to talk to them like counseling and or when Steven grows up to use healing spit. the reason he needs to grow up is because he is still a teenager going through human puberty which most should know can be a very unsure time for some, you are trying to find who you are and it wouldn't be easy to heal and reassure someone if you are unsure yourself. the reason he could partial uncorrupt centi was because he was sure that that was what he wanted to do however he started to doubt himself when he was learning why centi got corrupted so when she was starting to corrupt more he couldn't stop it. So, in conclusion once Steven Grows up/Matures more he will be able to perma semiuncorrupt gems to the point where they can then listen to their stories of how they became corrupted and reassure/comfort them trough the rest of their uncorruption returning them to their natural state of mind, body and (soul?)

I also think your second theory is more plausible---there's a reason we've been getting a lot of dream travel stories with Steven and I feel like it's to build up to this eventual discovery. Once the mind's fixed, THEN Steven could use his healing powers to fix the body. That's personally what I think the cure will be.
I think that music and sound will be the key to healing corrupted gems. I think that, if the fusion that would be created by garnet, pearl, amethyst, and Steven/rosequartz were to sing, it would heal corrupted gems that are close enough. Or if Greg were to find a specific frequency and they emitted a tone at that frequency, it would heal the corrupted gems. I feel as though music is a very important part of this. Notice how steven called that white light a "song" in monster reunion. Also centipeetle didnt remeber anything until she remembered the chaaaps jingle where here memories came back, but as she thought of the "song" that corrupted her it got stuck in her head again. Also notice as she is running towards her ship she covers her ears (where they would be) as if she can hear the song. I dont know if this is a fact but there is alot of evidence in this theory.
i dig the fusion as a way to heal corruption, if the diamonds launch the corruption beam again it can a a epic way of taking all 3 at once, steven going on a fusion spree and growing like a katimari to the point the 3 diamonds are like specs of sand

it's like insanity you need to overcome your inner flaws, before you can truly heal.what I'm suggesting is that Steven using the dream abilities to
get in a corrupted gem and figure out inner flaws, and address the real problem, like therapy in a sense
I thought (still think) that the reason Steven was unaffected by the gem destabilizers was that because he is partly human, he has a true physical form. You never see him "poofed", and every time he shapeshifts, he grows rather then changing completely.
I subscribe to the Astral Projectile is the cure theory.
It can't be the healing spit otherwise Rose would have already done it as she had thousands of years to try and never could, and her healing powers were far greater then Stevens. But like Garnet and Pearl says, corruption is not physical damage, it's mental.
Same deal with Pink Diamond or whatevers left of her, if that were true it should have already happened but didn't.
Fusion is an interesting idea that does play into his biology, but I doubt that will work since fusion requires a degree of participation on both parties part, and while some corrupted gems can give that consent, most won't give Steven the opportunity to fuse with them, and it's not in his character for force the issue.
But Astral Projectile ticks all of these boxes, it's something Rose couldn't do and would never have thought of doing, as it is a direct result of Stevens biology, and was born as a result of sleep, a very human thing to do.
It attacks the problem directly, the affliction of the mind by going into it, like when he did with The Cluster.
And it's been shown that he doesn't need consent or to put himself in harms way in order to go into their mind, and can do so with a conscious effort.
I believe that this method has the most evidence supporting it atm.
The thing about healing corruption is that I think it will be something that he has two for each gem specifically. Like since he knows Jasper and centipedal he can go into there heads and find a way through astral projection.
it is clear that a sound or a voice (probebly a song) of the diamond can couse corraption,singing is a big part of SU (plus,Steven shiled can make a sound that seems to cancel other gem abilitys) maybe Steven's singing can cure corraption
spit is made of same compound of tears, how they are healed: steven comes in the gems mind and go through their important history, he will consult where the Crack of the mind is located and use healing spit. after that steven will use healing spit on the gem or fuse for jasper since she hates herself and fusing with steven will give her the feeling of love and self confidence she needs. much like pearl with garnet when they fuse to make sardonix.
I think the gem's corruption is more like an infection. It makes sense seeing as Jasper caught it immediately after being in "contact" with one. Maybe his spit is only the weakest form of his healing and his tears are what can truly heal things.
I think that - like most of his other cop-outs - Steven will be able to use his uncorrupteable human half to shield both him and a miscellaneous corrupted gem when fused, healing them. Like fusing with humans, his gem half being able to turn his human half into light means he can also turn other humans into light, allowing them to fuse. Steven's full of complicated cop-outs on both sides!
I feel like Steven has abilities that have yet to be drawn out because he has never truly had to rely on them. I believe one of those powers is the ability to heal corrupted gems. I think this power will come out when someone from the Crystal Gems becomes corrupted. I could see situations where Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, Lapis, Perry and even Lion get corrupted. The diamonds have taken notice of the Crystal Gems and I believe all these non-combative episodes are making us forget that the Diamonds are aware of the Crystal Gems, and probably still pissed about not having a cluster to destroy other planets with. A scene I would really love to see is them invading, playing their corruption song and all of the Crystal Gems becoming corrupted right in front of him. Lion way whisk him out and seeing no other choice he will turn to Bismuth and open the treasure box in Lion's mane. Honestly the first gem he uncorrupts could be Jasper, as Steven will need her help to battle the diamonds. Once he does it once then it can be done again. I really feel like Steven has to hit rock bottom. I really feel like Steven needs to understand breaking, to understand fixing. I love when this show has its light hearted, fun feel to it, but when it gets dark and raw, it is so much better. I wanna see Steven go through pain and despair, because when he ultimately succeeds it will be so much better. The scenario is second to the underlying theme of the scenario, the theme that stars shine brightest in the dark.
Also, with jasper being corrupted in the fashion that she did really makes me think that the corruption is just one massive allegory for STDs and the end of the gem wars for earth being the bomb shell that the disease exist and many were caught off guard by it because they didn't know and became the beast spreading the disease to untold numbers of gems one way or another, though fusion seems pretty sure fire way to get corrupted. That or a very odd allegory for something else entirely. But I the STD idea has a solid basis in my opinion.
my favorite corruption healing theory is that greg an expert on sound and audio will help steven by emitting a sort of reverse sound
I had often thought how Rose admired humans' ability to 'grow and invent' played as a key reason for having a child with Greg. She might've wanted to give birth to Steven in order to 'change and grow', as in to become stronger than she was made to be in her original permanence. To have an heir to heal all those who were shattered or corrupted by Homeworld, after trying to for millennia after the Gem War. Steven seem to be having some of her original abilities as well as is developing new ones that she might not have had as a pure quartz gem.
Did you realize that Steven was asleep when he was talking to the cluster, and it has been directly stated that he can heal half way corrupted jems.
I think corruption is less of garnets literal meaning and more based off something else. I think the corrupted monsters could almost be described as special needs kids, with their inability to speak sometimes, and the fact that they do things that they are aware of but unsure of why they do it. So if Steven tried to heal them he wouldn't have to heal a literal tear in the mind, but a mental tear that makes it harder to think, Steven would have to clear their mind of their jumbled thoughts than maybe they'd be healed. Anyways, just a thought.
personally since the diamonds apparently corrupted the gems with a song, and given how Steven is a musical savant and SU is big on music, I think the cure would also be a song. possibly sung in the mind tho.
Even when you see Jasper's corruption, her "disease" only gets worse the more emotional she got.
I think Steven's dream powers will be the key for healing gems from corruption. As Garnet said the corruption is more a mental problem than a physical one. That means it will be harder to fix something that isn't material so it won't be as easy as healing a cracked gem. But maybe in the future episodes Steven will control his psychic powers better than he does now and he'll be able to enter gems minds and heal them from the inside. Not like going in their mind and use his magic spit there but maybe something like what M'gann did in Aqualad's mind in season 2 of the Young justice series.(When she fixed it not when she was f*cking with his head)
Not bad I like to think that corrupted gems look the way they do is from extreme mental breakdown seeing as how their physical forms are a manifestation of their will.
I believe that the answer to fixing corrupted gems has already been told in previous episodes.
Remember Steven ability to project into the minds of other gems? and garnet saying the its the fabric of the mind that has been torn?
Back when they bobbled the cluster was the first instant where the cure could take place because Steven was talking to the mind of the shattered gems and got them to bubble each other.
I don't believe that there is a "cure" yet know for undoing the corruption but I believe Steven's projection power is the key to fixing it because of that connection in the mind. The place where corruption is where garnet said to be.
Here's a thought, and I'm sure it's been pondered before, but what if the corrupted gems are fusions in and of themselves? Not with other gems, but with organic matter.
Looking at the great many corrupted gems we've seen, a lot of similarities can be drawn between them and various animals on earth. Centipettle, the corruptions Jasper fused with seemed to display wolf or dog like aesthetics, the invisible beast on mask island seemed a bit like an ape in what we could see in silhouette.
And it's not like we haven't seen gems fused with organic matter before, I mean look at Steven. And given the mean streak that The Diamonds have towards inter-gem fusing and the Earth, it would make sense that in their ultimate act of spiteful vengeance is to basically boil it down to "You like the organic life on this planet so much? You can fuse with it!" Garnet described the corruption as not just being a matter of physical damage, but mental damage too, having your mind fused with that of an animal, one that would only express strong base desires (food, shelter, territory, fear, confusion, etc) would wear on anyone's mind. And if it's a permanent fusion, then it would explain why centipettle was only partly healed, the bug would still be a part of her.
Where my theory might not hold water is in the case of Jasper, she fused with a corrupted gem, and during that time was in control, but given that she hadn't spent five thousand years as a dog, it wold make sense her personality would be so dominant. What the issue is comes in after she was no longer fused with the corrupted gem, when she became corrupted herself through the fusion. It begs the question that if organic matter is the crux of corruption, then how can it remain in a gem that is no longer fused?
It's implied that he would have been able to fix the Galaxy Warp, should he have wanted to now, as he starts to go there, but is stopped.

Garnet said corruption is a "tear of the mind", it indicates that it's basically Gem Insanity. I think that Steven first has to create a relationship with the corrupted gem, making them peaceful and trustworthy towards him. And then, he has to make then remember their memories, and to give them happiness. I think that when he does all that, he has to go into their minds and fix "the tear."
I think it's possible that the Diamonds have songs that act as weapons and all individually have different effects on Gems, while together they create a flawless Diamond song. But because Pink Diamond has been shattered the song is not complete and is flawed making their song corrupt hence forth the name corrupted gems
