    It is a privilege to be able to speak with our Heavenly Father directly. It is also an honor to speak to his son. It is clear that the first Christians did on occasion speak with Jesus after his accension. If you think about it, it would be odd if they didn’t. Some of them had lived with him for 3+ years and had become extremely close to him. Would it make sense for them to stop talking to him just because he was now in a different place? He promised “I will be with you…” Is it possible to conceive of Peter or John not continuing to talk to him. I know that unless he had forbid it, which he hadn’t, I would just naturally find myself talking to him. It seems impossible to think that this would not have extended out to the newly converted Christians as they talked to Jesus’ early disciples. Just my 2 cents.

      I think this "speaking to your brother" in this case referring to Jesus in the heavens is fine and only becomes wrong when you are trying to substitute Jesus (God’s son) for Jehovah (God himself). Then again this can become the first step into adapting the 'trinity doctrine" and that is a concept with its roots all the way back in Babylon and the root of this kind of wrong belief set.

They would not engage in any thing other than that. they offered me a bible study and i asked if they would answer my questions and doubts. Nope! I asked whats the point then? It took half hour of them blocking me till they decided to leave. It was sooo much like your DF video. The bible explains that every knee will bend to Jesus in Worship, which in turn will glorify God. So why can't a person pray to him. If Jesus can be ( praised, Glorified, worshiped) It seem illogical to say that pray is only for the Father. When we do this we are separating Jesus from his father.
    John 5 says he who doesn't honor the Son doesn't honor the Father who sent him.. And If Jesus is to be called Might God of (Isaiah 9:6) We need to stop demoting him..
    Philippians 2:9-11
    [9]Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
    [10]That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

    • @BeroeanPickets
      @BeroeanPickets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, prayer and worship are not the same thing. First, worship in English is a vague term. There are four words in Greek that are translated into English as the single English word, worship. Much of the confusion surrounding the topic of who and how to worship stems from this blending of the meaning of the various Greek terms into the one English word.

    The Lord Jesus is the proper recipient of prayer in Acts 1:24-25.
    Acts 1:24-25
    (24) And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen
    (25) to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”
    When the appellation "Lord" appears without reading "Lord Jesus" in Acts 1:24 it is important to keep in mind that whenever the following key words from this prayer are found elsewhere in Scripture in association with the "Lord" then the Lord always refers to the Lord Jesus.
    1. The "Lord" occurs along with the same Greek word for "show" (anadeiknymi) in Acts 1:24 - in reference to the Lord Jesus (Luke 10:1).
    2. The "Lord" occurs along with the same Greek word for "chosen" (eklegomai) in Acts 1:24 - in reference to the Lord Jesus (Acts 1:2; cf. v. 6; Luke 6:13; cf. vv. 5, 46; John 6:70; cf. v. 68 and John 13:18; cf. vv. 13-14).
    3. The "Lord" occurs along with the same Greek word for "ministry" (diakonia) in Acts 1:25 - in reference to the Lord Jesus (Acts 1:17; cf. v. 21; 20:24; 1 Corinthians 12:5; Ephesians 4:12; cf. Ephesians 4:5; Colossians 4:17; 1 Timothy 1:12).
    4. The "Lord" occurs along the same Greek word for "apostleship" (apostolē) in Acts 1:25 - in reference to the Lord Jesus (Romans 1:5; cf. Romans 1:4; 1 Corinthians 9:2).

    There are many instances of Jesus praying to the Father throughout the gospels. Most notably the night he was betrayed. Matt 26, Mark 14, Luke 22 and Jesus prayer in the entire chapter of John 17. Jesus wasn’t praying to himself but to his and our Heavenly Father. Jesus set the example for us to follow, that is a intimate relationship with our Father through prayer.

    Many thanks Eric.You are doing a remarkable job. But I have a taste of unfinished somewhere... What do you think of this reasoning about John 1:12,13: The context, in verse 11, refers to Jesus’ “own people,” the Jews. As many of them as did receive him when he came to them in the first century became God’s children, with heavenly life in view. The verbs in the text are in the past tense, so this passage is not referring to all people who have become Christians since then... What is your opinion about that please

      We know that salvation starts with the Jews, so the immediate application of that verse would be to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. That doesn't mean that the adoption stopped with the Jews. Galatians 4:26 to 4:7 indicates it continues on.

I've always thought (and I'm probably over simplifying this) like this. Let's say, for example, your name is Michael spelt MCHL and over time, for whatever reason, people forget the pronunciation. Anyone in the future could get lucky and say its Michael, or Mucuhul, Michail, Mocohil etc etc. But they then tuen round and say ah well, we don't know the correct way of saying it, so we'll call him Dave. In the Bible 7 WITNESSES attested to the ACCEPTABILITY of PRAYER TO JESUS:
    1️⃣-Jesus Himself, via 2️⃣-John 14:14,
    3️⃣-Stephen, via 4️⃣-Luke at Acts7:59-60,
    & 5️⃣-Paul via 6️⃣-Timothy at 2Cor.12:8,

    …& all were inspired by (8️⃣)→Holy Spirit❣️
    How exactly do you have a personal relationship with someone you never speak to? Col.2:11-12
    Jesus is the Logos-of-God, the Expression-of-God/Godship (THEOTETOS; Colossians 2:9 "because in him all the fullness of DEITY is resident in bodily form"); every contact we have with The Father is through His Son; all we know of The Father is by observing His Son-"the only-begotten God"-John 1:18
    The phrase, "I pray you…”, is a simple humble request. To pray is to request/plead, -an exchange of earnest wishes.
    Philippians 1:20
    …with all freeness of speech Christ will now, as always before, be magnified…
    Of course we primarily pray to God The Father in Jesus' name. Yet to neglect (or downplay/discourage) familial conversation with Jesus Christ-who sits on the very SAME throne as The Father, on God's right hand, & who The Father placed in charge of the universe & is Head of God's household as our Mediator, would be not only inappropriate & illogical, but would be like telling a wife to only speak to her father-in-law rather than her betrothed/husband/head.

    1 Corinthians 1:2 says all Christians call on the name of
    the Lord Jesus Christ.
    Isn't that the same action as Genesis 12:8 where Abram called on the name of YHWH?
    Wouldn't both cases be done with a sense of worship and reverence?
    How do you know which translation of John 14:14 is the correct one?
    If prayer is a worshipful request to a deity, then isn't that what Steven did at Acts 7:59 under direction of the Spirit?
    He saw the Father and Jesus and addressed Jesus.
    I think both viewpoints are valid, the bible indicates that Christians pray to the Father, and can also pray to Jesus.
    Just an interesting side note: are we sure Yahweh doesn't have brothers?
    Then why does the prophet Ahijah's name mean Brother of Yahweh?

      Yes, we are sure that Yahweh doesn't have brothers. The idea is ludicrous. If Yahweh has brothers, then he must be a child of some father. Think it through!
      As for your other question: "If prayer is a worshipful request to a deity..." You are laying out a premise. Yes, we do use the word prayer to represent worshipful request to a deity, but is that the meaning Jesus imparts to us?

    Thank you Eric for your reasoning on prayer and specifically: Is it wrong to pray to Jesus Christ? I would like to ask in John 9: 38 concerning the blind man that Jesus had healed. As he said: " Lord, I believe and he worshiped him." My thought is that if it was wrong to Jesus, then he would have said so, not being shy or soft spoken about "worship", and giving glory to Jehovah. So, am I wrong in thinking that prayer to Jesus would be a form of worship? I am not sure and will think on it prayerfully, thoughtfully and watch the video however many times to really get what it means and look up the scriptures because I haven't yet and write this before it leaves my head altogether, lol. ( Bible hub also points to Psalm 45:11 about this "worship" or "bow down to him") Thank you.

      "Worship" in English is a vague term. There are four words in Greek that are translated into English as the single English word, "worship." Much of the confusion surrounding the topic of who and how to worship stems from this blending of the meaning of the various Greek terms into the one English word. This video delves into the problems that come from this translation word funnel.
      th-cam.com/video/61MrudwPEOo/w-d-xo.html

      You are 100% dead wrong on the trinity. No “simple men” just reading scripture come up with that but they are reading into scripture that doctrine. Jesus nor any prophet before him nor any apostle ever once spoke of a triune god which Jesus was the 2nd person of.
      It’s a fact of history this doctrine was developed and became Christian “law” by pagans calling themselves Christian.
      There is not an honest person alive that can say if they never heard of the trinity before that they would read the Bible and then come away with that trinity doctrine on their own.
      This doctrine had to be indoctrinated into everyone to where they feel if they even question it they are sinning. They will never read scripture without that doctrine forcing them to not see what scripture is saying.
      It’s almost impossible for people to start over reading scripture and laying aside all preconceived doctrines and things they were taught and believe and just let the scriptures speak to them…but if one is willing to do this, they will find out many things they thought true are a lie, starting foremost of the trinity

This idea of being “like God” or “part of God” (as trinitarians teach) clearly is of satanic origins. You misinterpreted the clear teachings of the Bible with aligning your beliefs with Satan’s teaching sharing his position as God with his creations.
      By your stubborn refusal to accept anything but the trinity as being truth, you shut the door to God being able to teach you the truth about who he is.

    Jesus is the Word of God. God often speaks to Angel's & Mankind through Jesus. Jesus is a part of God's Divine Function as God and also the Holy Spirit. For thousands of years Jesus came to men in his fathers name as God Almighty speaking to them. Take Genesis 15: 1- 4 as an example.
    Genesis 15:1-2
    [1]After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
    [2]And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
    The Word of the Lord ( Jesus) cam to Abraham. And Abraham acknowledged him as God..

    Thank you for that explanation. I speak with Jesus too. I often thought how embarrassing will be for a Jehovah's Witness on Judgement Day for the first time to speak to Jesus. Worse than that, even now, if they never speak to Jesus, and pray to the Father, and the Father asks Jesus (even though God already knows), do you know so and so who just asked a request from me, and Jesus says, no I don't know so and so. The Father would then not even listen to so and so's prayer.

    Thank you Eric for your thoughts! Jesus came to earth for a specific purpose, and in a specific role. It must be admitted, however, that a number of places speak of Jesus as a man, and a number of other places speak of Him as a God, for example, a number of verses applied to Jehovah in the Old Testament are applied to Jesus in the New Testament. In addition, Jesus accepts the spirit of Stephen (which only God can do, look Ecclesiastes 12:7), Jesus forgives sins (which only God, against whom sins are committed, can do), Jesus is the Creator of all things (look Hebrews 1:10-12), Jesus is worshipped by angels (Hebrews. 1:6) Jesus declares himself to be the First and the Last (As well as Alpha and Omega, see Revelation 1:10), Jesus calls himself "I Am" (see John 8:58) - a name that only God can bear (and for which the Pharisees immediately try to stone him), John says that Isaiah saw the glory of Christ when he saw the glory of Jehovah in a vision (look at John 12:41). Jesus did not object to Thomas when he called him "my God" (see John 20:28), Jesus had equality with God (look at Philippians 2:6). Peter calls Jesus God and Savior (2 Peter 1:11 and there are many similar verses). Jesus accepts honor and glory along with the Father (see Revelation 5:11). If we drop our cliche, we need to accept what the Scriptures say about Christ.

      @user-ms9jl3wl3q - "It must be admitted, however, that a number of places speak of Jesus as a man, and a number of other places speak of Him as a God..."
      It is semantically incorrect to capitalize "God" when proceeded by the indefinite article.
      "for example, a number of verses applied to Jehovah in the Old Testament are applied to Jesus in the New Testament."
      You are correct in saying that but you misunderstand that that does not create a duality but rather is in line with the Hebrew thinking of agency. The agent is acting as the personification of the person he represents. Jesus Christ is acting as Jehovah's agent.
      If those scriptures were meant to establish the Trinity, then they would have been taught by the apostles as such. But the Hebrew writers knew exactly what they represented, and it was not some two-in-one God.
      "In addition, Jesus accepts the spirit of Stephen (which only God can do, look Ecclesiastes 12:7)"
      You're making an assumption. Are we to believe you because you say so? Then how would you explain this:
      “Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
      Was it not God who gave Jesus all authority? And if he was given all authority, would that not include the authority to receive the spirit of Satan.
      "Jesus forgives sins (which only God, against whom sins are committed, can do)"
      You should first become very familiar with the Bible before you go parroting someone else's arguments.
      “. . .For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to do judging, because he is the Son of man.” (John 5:26, 27)
      This makes no sense if both the Father is God Almighty and the Son is God Almighty.
      God gave Jesus authority to judge, which he obvious did not have up to that point because you cannot give authority to a person if they already have it.
      I won't spend any more time one this because these are old arguments which have been rehashed countless times. Since you evidently don't know the counterargument, I would recommend you use the Google AI and ask it how do each of these Scriptures prove the Trinity to be false. You have to word it that way to get the counterargument.
      (Hebrews 1:10-12)
      (Revelation 1:10)
      (John 8:58)

      @@BeroeanPickets I've been looking at the Scriptures through Watchtower glasses for over 30 years. At the moment, I believe that it is necessary to accept everything that Scripture says, without trying to come up with "logical" explanations. But since you can't just accept them, because of your doctrinal beliefs, you have to look for tricky explanations for them. Until we discard the patterns imposed on us and stop trying to understand God by humanizing him, we will not be able to accept the text as it is.
      As for the indefinite article, what can you say about these verses? "a man sent from God" (v. 6), "the power to be children of God" (v. 12), "were born of God" (v. 13), "No one has ever seen God" (v. 18). Is this also about God with a small letter? in verse 1, the word θεός is used for the second time without the article: there it acts as an integral part of the nominal predicate, and in this position in Greek nouns are used without the article, so this is not a question of doctrine, but a question of grammar.

      @@FromJWtoJesusTo your first part, all I can say is "projection".
      On the point about "a God" being semantically wrong, you do realize that "God" with a capital G is a proper noun, don't you. It is like saying "a Jehovah". The indefinite article is not used with proper nouns. If you wrote "a god", then you would be correct.
      Did you google those verses? You'll see excellent non-JW arguments explaining all of them free from a Trinitarian bias

    • @FromJWtoJesus
      @FromJWtoJesus 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LosBereanos In my second comment, I explained my point of view that the question of the indefinite article is not a doctrinal question, but a question of semantics. Otherwise, we will be inconsistent or we will need to use the word God with a small letter many times in the first chapter of the Gospel of John, including those verses that explicitly refer to God the Father. It would be a mistake to build a doctrine based on the indefinite article used (including what I wrote about it above). But we need to take into account everything that Scripture says about Christ, even if it provokes cognitive dissonance in us, if we want to find out what is the truth.
      I enjoy watching your channel and have learned a lot of useful things for myself. But I realized that in order to free myself from some dogmas and not become a prisoner of others, it is necessary to remain openminded to any other ideas, including those that, due to our past experience, are difficult to accept. We need to question our own ideas and not be afraid to part with them, even if they are dear to us.

    Hi Br Eric, I can't help but be reminded of Isaiah 9:6, where Jesus is referred to as Mighy God and Everlasting Father. There is only 1 TRUE GOD , IE: 1 real and genuine God. If Jesus isn't God, and He was a created being, a lesser god , then that would mean that He is a false God! Furthermore Isaiah 43:10 exclaims "You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. " This passage totally compliments IS 9:6 as to Jesus identity. Also, How do you explain John 1:1 where Jesus, the Word is described as God? My point is that the scriptures support Jesus identity as God because He is Identified as such when you compare both scrips from Isaiah which draws only 1 conclusion as to Who Jesus is. I hope I've Made sense?

      @Beroean Pickets Hi, i no Jesus is not God the father. My interpretation on Jesus being Everlating Father suggests that He acts as a Fatherly figure and is a Provider since He provides " fountains of waters of life and living water" I know you don't believe in the Triune nature of God, however It resonates with me. Humans are Triune in body, soul and spirit. Space is Triune with height, width and depth. A simple egg is Triune in its parts, but all 3 parts make up the 1 egg. There are many ex in creation. We all have to draw our own conclusions on doctrinal matters. The most important thing is to have a relationship with the Lord and of course to confess that He is your Lord and Savior, died and rose again bodily. I'm sure you agree with that brother. Blessings to you!

    • @LosBereanos
      @LosBereanos ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elizabethramsey4245 Sorry, my bad. I wasn't asking for your opinion about Jesus being God the Father, but rather for Scriptural proof to support your understanding of how to explain that away without violating Trinitarian doctrine.
      But let's move on. According to one of your illustrations, God is not God unless all three are together. Like an Egg, the yoke is not the egg, the white is not the egg, and the shell is not the egg. (Your analogy, not mine.) So Jesus is not God, Yahweh is not God, and the holy spirit is not God, exceot when they are all together--like an egg. Then, and only then, are they collectively God. So that is a different version of the Trinity from the standard one. The questions is, can you prove that from Scripture, otherwise, it is just your opinion, and I'm sure you don't want anyone to follow your opinion on such an important issue, because that would be very bad since it would draw attention to yourself and not give glory to God?
      As for your idea that the important thing is our relationship with the Lord, while important, it is not the thing of prime importance. I hope you can see that. You see, you overlook the fact that Jesus came to give us the important relationship which we, as humans, have lacked: That of a son with a Father--the Father being God, not Jesus, not the holy spirit. This is one of the main issues I have with the Trinity and why I contend that its source is Satanic. We always have to look at who benefits, don't we?
      You see Trinitarians ignore that fact to support their doctrine, they muddle that relationship, which means that Satan must be happy, because what spells his end is the completion of the Seed of the Women, the revelation of the Children of God. (Romans 8:19-21)
      But I do agree that Jesus is our savior and that he was resurrected bodily since there is no other form of resurrection. Of course, in his case, the body was not of flesh and blood which cannot inherit the kingdom, but was a spirit body, as the Bible explains at 1 Corinthians 15:35-54.
      Anyway, it's been a pleasure discussing this with you since it helps all who are seekers of truth to break free from damaging religious dogma.

    • @elizabethramsey4245
      @elizabethramsey4245 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eric, thanks for replying and you have good points to ponder. Anyway I think we have a misunderstanding with my egg analogy. I mean to say that each part of the egg, is a different part from each other. Like the shell is physically and chemically different from the yolk, ect but all 3 components make up what we know as a single egg. Therefore what I meant, is that Jesus is not the Father or the HS ,but yet they all 3 make up the 1 True God, and the essence of God. I'm not dogmatic on the Trinity doctrine, but that is what I currently support and if Almighty God, wants to correct my understanding on that He may do so. thx ,take care, and I'm sure we'll speak again soon!

    • @LosBereanos
      @LosBereanos ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elizabethramsey4245 The problem you're facing with finding an analogy to explain the Trinity is that there isn't one. You need to find something in nature that is made up of three parts, all of which are distinct with their own individual characteristics, but while being distinct, they are also the same. That means they are not part of the whole, but the whole itself. God has become a proper noun, that is a name. That is why it is capitalized. So we could say that there is one true God, meaning not that other gods are liars, untrue, false, but that only the one true God is god almighty, the supreme god. Of course, if the one true God wishes to create a god like himself, but subservient to him, who are we to say he can't do that? What a haughty attitude that would be, wouldn't you agree?
      So to take the analogy of the Egg, we'll make it into proper noun, so we don't need an article anymore.
      As we read descriptions of the Trinity, let us apply that to our Egg illustration.
      There is only one true Egg. Egg is made up of three distinct elements.
      There is Egg the Yoke.
      There is Egg the White.
      There is Egg the Shell.
      These three are distinct, yet at the same time,
      The Yoke is fully Egg.
      The White is fully Egg.
      The Shell is fully Egg.
