Wow $392 for 400 rounds of 30-06. The North store definitely does not have ammo prices that are so generous. Also $25 for a full day at the Talladega range is a steal. I've seen plenty of ranges where it is $20 per hour for a range that pales in comparison.

I'm from Durban originally. Moved to the US in 2000. I was under the impression private firearms ownership was practically impossible in SA now. Is that not the case? I had to do a police approved training course, provide proof of ownership of a Safe, and get my license from the police for my CZ83 that I carried for several years before I emigrated. Do you still have to jump thru those sorts of hoops? And do you still have the credit card style license with the fake handprint on it? I only realised it wasnt my palm print when I and several of my friends compared ours and found out they were all the same print!

I got to make three trips, one rifle in each hand. The loading was done. Years later, I realized I may have handled the 03 my uncle might have carried on August 7th 1942 on the island Tulagi. He was a reserve Marine and was in company C of the first battalion of the 5th regiment. His battalion became the 1st Raider Battalion. Was KIA on the first day on Tulagi.

The barrel vice tool that left marks on the barrels used to rebarrel rifles stopped being used in 1942 cause it was started in 1938 due to many M1903's needing to be rebarreled. As rifles came in for rebarrels etc they would get the rebuild traits.

@@BattlefieldCurator the problem as I see it, is that many people have tunnel vision, and assume most people are in similar circumstances to themselves. In my situation, being a low income senior, 1300 and change per month pension, i can't buy a plane ticket to a cmp store. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there are only two stores, both beyond my reach.

@@user-tz3cu5ur8c well buddy, I wish I was 23 when you were…I would have bought heaps of m1 Garands for $100 each….oh and muscle cars for next to nothing that are worth 50k+ now. You grew up in the golden age of cheap guns and missed out…so yes, cry about it

the cmp is a freaking joke.
over priced, under quality and PAID FOR WITH OUR TAXES.
I'm guessing you have about 3-4k in the trunk right there.
    pffft.
Congrats. Yall help keep the prices up on these. Not good.

It's Bull shit that CMP gets these rifles from around the world for pennies on the dollar, then turn around and try to sell me an M1 Garand for well over $1000

Market price. And just who sets the market price? Gun people do by what they are willing to pay. Don’t look at Cadillacs if you only have Corolla money.

@@blackhawk7r221 I have Ferrari Money, but im not gonna pay Ferrari Money for a Toyota Corolla. If I could buy a Garand for $100......selling it for $1,300 and acting like Im some Patriotic American Company is just wrong. But then Greed has always been America's moral Compass

I recall the same people coming into our gun shop crying when M-1’s were $300 and Marlin 336’s were $179.
Kept a pink box of Kleenex on the counter for them as we’d invite them to wipe their vaginas. Those same price complainers are the same ones who give you a ton of after the sale grief.
