A mix of bt3 and bt4 mod, bt3 has the bare bones mechanics, bt4 has unrealistic made up auto combos but a more friendly window to do z counters, so pretty much for me bt4 for z counter practice, bt3 for system mechanics, and raging blast for the switch/fusion system since sparking zero is using that for switching/fusion, raging blast feels to slow and has wayy too many combos that’s not even gonna be in sparking zero, but the defense mechanics could be useful like the quick recovery when you hit the ground thingy, or the instant dragon dash from getting hit Tl:dr bt3 for mechs, raging blast for switching/transforming/fusion, bt4 for z counter
Makes sense. I also Agree with you on the raging blast point it does have way more combos and does feel a lot slower. As of right now I’ve just been playing Bt4 mod. Z counters will be the death of me😅

By the way For people who train on bt3 the best version of it to play on is the Wii version for Dolphin emulator if only because It’s faster than the ps2 version which we know sparking zero is gonna be fast and lowkey as someone who’s played this game since I was very young I’ve gotten way better
It's easy to win against your friend who may not have the game or even the console back in the day, but once you step into the realm of online play against random people in ranked mode you better be ready. (For anyone wondering, back in the day during the very eary 2000's you couldn't just get game consoles and games right after release, parents where not as sold on the idea of 'gaming' as they are today, you also generally couldn't ask nor get games whenever you wanted to, you might have to wait until your birthday, holidays and so on.)

I played BT3 with my friends as a kid and in recent years as an adult i figured out that we all sucked lol but we thought we were just gods at the game fighting within each other, we barely even broke the surface of everything you can do in BT3

I picked Raging Blast 2 for the first time this year in preparation for Sparking Zero. I got super good in 2 months, only to find that I took a wrong path. RB2 is a casual version of BT3. I still have to pick Tenkaichi 3 and hit the class
I only played the game at a basic level on the Wii as well, but I've played other 3D arena fighter games competitively and I'm going to not only play with custom controls, I will also play with the music off, a special PS5 controller, and break down all of the combos on a button-input-by-button-input basis, including learning how to cancel combos with moving in between combos, dashing in between combos, jumping/flying cancels and with combos, to understand how the game mechanics work consecutively and the limit between how you can chain all those game mechanics together and if you can only do it a certain amount of times, with and without ki expenditure or blast stock expenditure, just like how I did with another former favorite 3D arena fighter. Also, I will be playing this game with the music turned off completely. My method of playing fighting games competitively is something I want to carry to any 3D arena fighting game I touch in the future. I will grasp how the game works fundamentally. I won't have too high of expectations, but I will note certain game mechanics changes I would want them to add or tweak in the future. But then doing that will make it harder for casual players to enjoy it if the metagame becomes bigger because of those changes I bet. Heh. 😏

Everything doesn't always apply, but it allows me to play games with a similar skill ability, especially if I learn I can replicate certain playstyles that happen to be viable and transfer how to play that way in a completely different fighting game series. I haven't played video games in more than a year and a half, and I haven't played a fighting game competitively since 2013/2014. I simply have a natural talent to become good at video games. Learning about the ability to play video games competitively changed how I enjoy playing fighting games. And now I only enjoy playing 3D arena fighters that offer game mechanic depth. Anyone who has a PS5 will be able to play the game day one, while I wait for the release of the PS5 Pro. And through careful analysis of other players gameplay, especially once I see and learn of the button input controls, I will be able to teach myself how to play the game, hands off. It would help if a content creator could verbalize their button inputs as they play the game or even show the button inputs on screen. I'm a great learner. But even without those last two options, the information I'd learn would be sufficient enough for me to grasp how to play the game to gain a certain level of preemptive skill. I also will have a PS5 controller before the game releases so I can practice inputting commands to get used to the button inputs before I can actually play the game. You can say I'm a freak like Frieza, but I guarantee you it won't take long at all for me to bridge a 1 month skill gap as I wait for the Pro PS5 to release. I will play the game with music as I learn how to utilize the controls before turning off the BGM. I can't wait to crush people's dreams.
Finally got bt3 for my pc and beat it in like night then wanted more so I got bt4 and it was a bit harder and I like that downside is my pc is not running it at 60fps so I’m playing at around 20fps although the cpu still going regular speed smh but I’m gonna be so much better once sparking comes out because of this training session no items hard mode soon I will upload videos of z mode battles I only have one so far since I haven’t played these games in almost 18 years it took a lot to break my mind away from the modern newer games fighting mechanics but it only took like 2hrs good to be completely reconditioned and I will not play another dbz outside of these until sparking comes out so I don’t lose muscle memory
@@TheGracefulRogue it’s only harder cuz everything has been jacked up but if you want the more realistic approach then bt3 is the way to go because you won’t be expecting the extra dragon homing and vanishes and what not they revamped all the combos to make them more extensive with blast volleys at the end of most but see that’s not gonna be the case for sparking it’ll be basic stuff not all souped up like bt4 but still use bt4 to build your defense and offense approach when it comes to fighting OP level fighters who can just about counter everything so it’s worth it to master your gameplay there for that reason alone but if you don’t want to be disappointed when none of that crosses over to sparking then stay with bt3
I might go into some online fights after I get used to the newer mechanics because I've been practicing in BT3 for awhile now. I'm not cracked like that one dude but I don't think I'm anywhere near a pushover.

One of the hardest things I still have a hard time doing on this game is Z counter. To me, it's the timing that I can't get down when it comes to Z counter it's the hardest thing to do on the game.
Good it’s not just me, I could never do those consistently. When I pulled it off I was more so surprised than being ready to combo or take advantage of it.
But comparing me back then when I was playing Budokai Tenkaichi games to the footage you're showing of the other guy that's really good. I have to honestly say it's pretty hard to say who would win in a fight I'm good but he's a little faster than I was. There were multiple complexities to the Budokai Tenkaichi games you know.

I’m not able to get any practice prior to release and l already know 100000000000% at launch l’m gonna get my face smashed in like atleast for the first day or two of early access l’m not even gonna touch PVP l’ll just stay to the bots and l know when l start playing PVP unless l play against someone who has the same skill as me l’m gonna get beat up but overtime learn.
I was good at the game 🎮 but it has been years since I played the game so it will take time to come back I played every single budokai game and tenkiachi game 🎮 since they first came out on ps2
It’ll be an adjustment for sure. I’m pretty sure they changed how clashes work though so at least you won’t break your joysticks during those. That may be a plus or negative for you.
Im not going to practice anything I just wanna enjoy the game and I know even if I will be bad the game gonna be the best game I ever played in my life but what I can say I will be the first person to complete the story and unlock all the characters because ima speedrun that story with the 3 days early access I just hope the community will not be THAT toxic they can be a little but not like THAT THAT toxic and when they are I’m just gonna play local with my older brother like in the past (I will beat him this time I swear )
Gogeta is such a dope character in Fighterz I personally use the SSJ4 version when I play DBFZ. They never disappoint with that character in DB games. The Sparking Gogeta is just 🍷😩👌
I would say play raging blast or raging blast 2 to practice on sparking zero only IF your planning on playing the standard controls on the game bc it's like 90% simular to raging blast controls, and if you're gonna play with the original budokai controls practice on the budokai games 😔✊🏾

Bro sparking zero is a sequel to bt3 yall definitely should practice in that bcz bt3 was much more complicated and had specific mechanics compare to raging blast and that game wasn’t nearly as complicated as bt3
I’ve been playing on raging blast 2 but the controls seem kinda klunky compared to when I played bt2 but my ps2 stopped working and finding one that works is a bit hard

I feel like given the type of community these games always have. Regardless if it’s the same type of tech in the game or something entirely different the community will push the combat to its limits. Typically the players always know more about the game than even the developers to a certain extent.

I was good at the game 🎮 but it has been years since I played the game so it will take time to come back I played every single budokai game and tenkiachi game 🎮 since they first came out on ps2

It’ll be an adjustment for sure. I’m pretty sure they changed how clashes work though so at least you won’t break your joysticks during those. That may be a plus or negative for you.

I would say play raging blast or raging blast 2 to practice on sparking zero only IF your planning on playing the standard controls on the game bc it's like 90% simular to raging blast controls, and if you're gonna play with the original budokai controls practice on the budokai games 😔✊🏾
That’s actually a perspective I didn’t even consider. I’m definitely doing the budokai controls. I got a friend who has been on raging blast 2 but was worried that he wouldn’t really gain anything from it. But you might be right with the standard controls point.

Unfortunately no. Those games are drastically different compared to BT. Closest thing besides the BT series itself would be the Raging Blast Games.
Bro sparking zero is a sequel to bt3 yall definitely should practice in that bcz bt3 was much more complicated and had specific mechanics compare to raging blast and that game wasn’t nearly as complicated as bt3

I’ve been playing on raging blast 2 but the controls seem kinda klunky compared to when I played bt2 but my ps2 stopped working and finding one that works is a bit hard

Probably won’t be getting the full fighting experience from the game if they only mash. People say storm is only a mashing game until you fight people that know how to play.

As far as I know you can’t, you have to emulate BT3 on a pc and then get the mod setup for the game.
I grew up playing raging blast 2 but I don’t got my ps3 anymore so I gotta play xenoverse 2 for practice😭 but I gotta play something before sparking 💀🙏🏾

I feel like given the type of community these games always have. Regardless if it’s the same type of tech in the game or something entirely different the community will push the combat to its limits. Typically the players always know more about the game than even the developers to a certain extent.

Let's be real for a second , anyone who's practicing in bt or raging blast stop right there , sure the combo mechanic seems similar but then again u have to look at this as completely new game , sure those combos u did back then might help u for awhile but then what ? i bet many people who will go online will go against those who had almost fully utilized the new mechanics and is beating u embracingly so quick tip , finish the tutorials , even tho it'll freshen up u memory but you'll fully take advantage with the perks given in the game
