Mirage just got nerfed (tornado mostly) - while this does make the build worse, I played it and it still feels very good. I'll keep the build updated if any other changes happen! DOUBLE UPDATE: Fortitude + Return Fire is the way - removed Veil Walker and updated it.
@@CROSSFADE69 I know it’s not the same thing 1 for 1 but to me it feels like a wraith ult. Yes it’s not auto lock and doesn’t last as long but it’s just not fun like you said. Sure there is more counter play to it than Wraith ult but good players will substantially decrease the counter play. Idk maybe I’m waffling
@@revums XD It’s not lost on me that the game is in a closed alpha. Realistically right now the only thing impacted is opposing players fun factor. We are the playtesters for all intents and purpose. It’s just like… clearly this ability is overtuned
I like putting ricochet on him also you can put quicksilver reload on his 3rd ability so you can pretty much reload for free anytime. I haven't found it particularly useful yet but its cool
i was playing him with ritchrocket , toxic bullets and excalating exposure, idea is that you shoot a group of ppl applying mark once toxic procs it shreds their resist, you pop 3 and they explode
I laned against this hero 3 times today. I didn't have fun. Kinda not wanting to queue anymore until he gets nerfed when hes OP and in every single game.
I've seen a lot of people just hanging in the air uselessly while tornado'd. I think a lot of people don't realize that it isn't a stun and they can react, whether it is to E Shift or some other defensive measure. I think he'll feel less stompy once people get used to playing around him.
@@disbled My only point is you're not stunned. I've seen a lot of people just not pressing buttons and I can only assume that they think they are stunned.
Some people do the same against Warden. Even when they could fight him or at least soften him up for the team they sometimes just stand there and accept death.
I don't think building shields on mirage is better than building resistances because of evasion since it's a separate stat from both health+shields and effective health. With an effective ehp of 1,500 and an hp stat of 1,000 + 500 shields, a 50% reduction in any shot hitting you would result in the same effect for both. That being said, shield might still be better for other reasons, such as everyone running a lot of resist breaker items and mirage being a very good ganker which works well with veil walker. Then again, mirage has a very decent health pool at max level, so both sides of resists and shields have their own arguments.
Moral of the story, echo shard op. Also such a shame that they remove his gimmick with spirit damage and makes him a brainless CC bot. Make the tornado ignore bullet damage like it used to ffs
I had the same idea of building him supporty/tanky/spirit-eque, but none of my friends thought I was right in my assessment. When I read tornado and that it is such a long hard CC on a basic ability - I knew something is wrong here.
I’ve been running a bullet resist shred assassin build get lvl 2 scarabs head hunter wisp bullet shred etc it’s been pretty fun constant 2v1 & 1v1 crossmap echo shard late pretty decent and fun
dropped a 124k dmg game last night just building weapon fire rate and dmg and leech. yea, if i got CCed i was dead, but it was the most fun i had in the game. only spirit item i had was the level 2 built resist item lol
@araen11 of course. Over 30 kills. But my highest game before that was probably in the 70s. I'm not sure where I am on the skill rating for this game, but in other games I'm in the top ~5 percent (CoD, apex, Rocket League, overwatch, rb6). So with other Heroes I am more than capable of doing some kind of carry, but never like this.
@@patrickcarver3607 Okay but that's not the point here. Given a significant soul lead you can build anything on anything. You can build gun on any hero, and with decent lead, you will output enormous damage and probably stomp the enemy (especially, as you've mention you are quite skilled shooter player). The main issue, is to itemise the most efficiently, to get the best and strongest hero, at any point of the game, with the least souls spent.
I'm no top MMR player, but I really don't see the value of items like Mystic Burst or Headshot booster. At first glance, they seem obviously good. But when you really dive into the numbers, I think they are extremely overrated. For this build, I think Hollow Point Ward or HVM would be a stronger choice over Headshot Booster, and I would probably skip Mystic Burst entirely. I just don't think an extra 35 damage when you hit a Tornado really does anything valuable. I'd rather spend that 500 on another Weapon or Vitality item, or just save it and put it towards a T2.
i can at least say for headshot booster that it is extremely good in lane. it reduces the amount of poke you take and increases the amount of poke you deal, letting you keep up a lot of pressure in lane, making it easier to win. it becomes pretty useless immediately after lane and is the first thing you sell when you need slots, but at the stage of the game when youd sell it, the 250 souls you "wasted" on it is nothing. very very worth it
@@vorchitect If you compare it to HVM though, HVM gives you triple the base weapon damage buff, a better bullet shield, helps you secure/deny souls better, and is now a component to Pristine Emblem, which is something you wouldn't mind buying later in the game anyway. I just don't see how +40 damage every 7.5 seconds at best from Headshot Booster stacks up to that. The base weapon damage difference between the two makes the DPS difference negligible, but HVM has way more upside. Hollow Point Ward is probably worse if you are behind, but if you're able stay above the 60% hp threshold, HPW will give you roughly double the damage boost that HSB will give you, plus a more relevant bonus increase of spirit power vs fire rate. The relevance of spirit shield vs bullet shield will be contextual, but HPW's shield has more than double the stats of HSB. I don't want to bore any readers with the math, but I've run the numbers and HSB is just worse than these other two. HVM damage is technically lower, but not by any relevant margin. HPW damage is significantly more, especially when you factor in the spirit scaling, but only if you are able to keep it active. I guess in the grand scheme of things, all the options are reasonably interchangeable, but I think for someone like Deathy who is a professional competitive player, figuring out what is the most optimal is important. Personally, if the devs were to change HSB to give +4% weapon damage instead of +4% fire rate, then the item would be much more competitive with the other options.
@@Alimentasable you can literally use items while immobilized, just pop metal skin and you're good cuz his damage is all from bullets. also you can still parry while immobilized. other than that unlike wraith his damage alone isn't enough to kill anyone mid-late game.
I dont understand how they decide CC duration, Ivy gets a stun so short she can barely start firing after her stoneform ends before they are out of stun, then you get people like seven who gets massive 2.5 seconds stuns from basic abilities and now this dude who is getting pretty much the same gift. its a DAMN gun game, 5 seconds of being stunned and domed in the head while also having bullet falloff of 20m so you HAVE to approach the dude with CC is GG
@@GreatBlueWorld but in a way, so is mirage tornado. its not a full stun but its a root that even prevents movement abilities. ivy's gargoyle has plenty of time to react, is very close range, and also has a delay for when she is truly immune, but she does heal and does remain immune for a bit longer (while being unable to act). mirage's tornado is near instant, larger radius, goes quickly in a line, and roots all enemies it touches for 2 seconds base at tier 1. that is a LONG time to be stuck in place. yes you can use debuff remover for it, but that still means that his 1 ability is forcing you to buy and use an item and if he has echo shard, ur not getting out of the 2nd one. his 1 is massively overtuned for what it provides.
Abilities don't exist in a vacuum abilities exist in the context of the entire kit. Ivy doesn't NEED to use her stoneform to be able to do stuff and or help her team. Whereas mirage most definitely does it's his best and basically only tool. Seven uses it offensively and players are given 3.5s to react to it and move away. It's a powerful tool and why people have started using echo shard for it but again it's only an aspect of the kit, not the entirety of it
