      Exactly! And why spend the whole segment talking about the Bucs when they LOST?!? The Lions played a great game and WON. Talk about them for a while, no? I think Skip is just jealous that his Cowturds are not as gritty as the Lions, plus he keeps wanting to justify his ongoing, pathetic defense of that loser Baker. What a joke!

    Going for 2 points was one of the dumbest calls you can make for your team. When the players in the huddle are scratching their heads about coaches call then they’re going to have that much LESS focus on the game. That coach created a distraction. And that ruined momentum.

    Yeah, way too much has been made of analytics. Analytics for the season do not necessarily convert the same way to a big playoff game, nor take things into account like momentum, players being tired, and other intangibles. And of course even the analytics said going for two on that particular play was 40% less chance of making it than the extra point. If you don't make the 2, it drains all your momentum, and also makes the other team feel a lot better about being up by 8 instead of 7.

  • @juangringo3906
    @juangringo3906 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I thought going for 2 was the right call all things considered. Idt the Bucs D had enough in them to go into OT if they could have converted and the rest of the game kinda proved it. As far as Mike Evans goes ive said it many times b4 he has a tendency to drop balls and give up INTs by tipped balls. Theres usually a dbl team so theres almost always another defender to get a chance at the ball. A lot of those Winston INTs was on him and I thought he would be the reason the Bucs got knocked out of the playoffs in 20-21. He almost was againest the Packers. Im always worried Godwin will fumble also. Hes did it several times in big games but the Bucs did do better than most everyone expected.

Im not too worried about texans game cuz our future is bright n Baltimore is the team that will win the SB. Lions will make the hard game for niners doe, they gotta catch the picks purdy throws them doe cuz packers couldn't catch any. Niners win 38-31

      @pennywise5662 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you don't trust your defense to get a stop, forfeit. The situation is over 4min left down 8 after the TD. You go for 2 because successfully doing so means the next TD can win the game, and if you don't get it you can try again next time and still be tied. You know you will have at least one possession left and are assuming a stop otherwise you just forfeit. The rate of successful 2pt conversions is high enough to make the gamble. Also if you can get 3 and outs, and score quickly, you can miss both attempts and still win with a FG. It's playoff season, play to win.

    • @Doooooooo
      @Doooooooo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pennywise5662 it was 31-17 all tampa had to do was score 6 (which made it 23-31) and kick the pat to make it a 7 point game! So you'd rather risk going for 2, potentially not get it and being down 8? Rather than just kicking the extra point to make it 24-31? Don't make sense

    • @Doooooooo
      @Doooooooo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pennywise5662 all they had to do was take the pat, make it a 7 point game, get the ball back and try to force overtime. Instead, they went for 2 didn't get it, ended up being down 8 and never got the ball back. Defense was going to have to get a stop regardless if it was a 7 or 8 point game. Put more pressure on the entire team when he went for the 2-pt instead of just taking the easy points

    I don't think Detroit has a good enough pass-rush vs 49ers. Detroit DT#54 Alin McNeill could be put in the same sentence with the greatest Defensive Tackles in the NFL today (such as NYG#97 Dexter Lawrence, Rams' legendary Aaron Donald, NYJ#95 Quinnen Williams, and KC's legend #95 Chris Jones) but Lions' DT#54 McNeill too often fails to raise his arms and hands when closing in on the QB, thus making it impossible for McNeill to deflect more passes or just obstruct the QB's vision downfield. #54 McNeill will ONLY raise his arms and hands a deflect a pass when it is while he is being blocked by a blocker still in between McNeill and the QB. When NO blocker is in between #54 McNeill and the QB and McNeill is charging in on the QB, he NEVER raises his arms and hands to either attempt to deflect the pass or atleast obstruct the QB's vision. The irony is that it you would think it would be the other-way-around, as it often is with other pass-rushers who raise their arms and hands when closing in on the QB when there is no blocker in between the pass-rusher and the QB. But #54 McNeill's failure to do so when that opportunity presents itself with no blockers successfully getting in his way on certain plays that he is closing in on the QB with a free lane that he created by beating those blockers, is the same thing that Dallas pass-rushers #11 Micah Parsons, DE#92 Dorance Armstrong and DT#97 Odighizuwa always fail at as well. So on Sunday at 49ers for NFC Championship, Detroit DT#54 Alin McNeill will NOT be making Detroit's defense as good as it could be because of his never raising of his arms and hands when closing on the QB whenever he has a free lane to that QB.
    From there, not sure if Detroit DE#95 Romeo Okwara is still the same player he was before those two very early season ending injuries in 2021 & '22. Detroit's other DEs #79 John Cominsky and #93 Josh Pascal are teases, as in almost-&-not-quite, and no better than "C+" caliber, just band-aids and not solutions, not when you are attempting to win the Super Bowl.
    Another thing working against Detroit is that its defense is one that really should be on mixing in some 3-4 formations but never does so. The 315-pound DT#54 Alin McNeill would be more than able to handle life as the Nose Tackle, and the biggest benefit of the 3-4 would be getting 2nd-year WLB#46 Jack Campbell away from the outside LB spot and closer to the inside where Jack Campbell would be far more suited. WLB#46 Jack Campbell is too flat-footed for the weakside. In a 3-4, #46 Campbell and #34 Anzalone would be fine as the ILBs, and then they could turn loose LB#42 Jalen-Reeves Maybin on the outside. But without Detroit ever running any 3-4 defensive formations their run-defense will generally be around the "B-/C+" level.
    You can also see that #46 Jack Campbell also failing to out up his arms and hands when he had a free lane to Dak Prescott in that week 17 game at Dallas with 1:52 left in the 3rd quarter. Dallas was facing 3rd & 11 and blitzing #46 Jack Campbell charged through right at Prescott but because Campbell failed to raise his arms and hands, Prescott threw what would have been a very deflectable pass go right over Campbell (for all intents & purposes it may as well have been right through Campbell) for the 1st down. Three plays later Dallas FG tied the game at 10-10.
    Big picture, too many reasons Detroit's defense will not be as good as it could be and likely not as good as it needs to be Sunday at 49ers, although if the 49ers don't blitz on defense more than two times the whole game, anything is possible.
