Nah, Sims 2 is a mix of pre-2000 vampire cultures (think Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blade and Bela Lugosi). Sims 3 is obviously twilight but Sims 4 is pretty much both. The sparkles are gone but the vampire sparring is exactly like Twilight.
And sims 4 is every vampire movie/show ever existed because you can make them however you want and give them abilities to fit whatever vampire universe you want
I love Sims 2 and Sims 3 but I gotta say! Sims 4's vampires smash both of them! They can fight, and this pro/cons things is brilliant! Maybe I will play Sims 4 too..
The single expansion allowed vampires to have more content and to be explored more than just sun = death and they have cool glowy eyes. I'd be super happy if they did the same thing with fairies, witches, werewolves, etc. except that might be a bit too much money to spend... x.x r

Vampires were still shipped with boring, uninteresting abilities and came with no challenges or impact on their lives and gameplay. Faries weren't anything special and basically had the same abilities as the Witch did. It was missing a ton of gameplay and content.

Sims 4 is definitely more inspired by "traditional" vampires while sims 3 is closer to vampire diaries and other vampire related teen dramas (or whatever) the supernatural pack in general is mostly inspired by stuff like that. The vampires are inspired by twilight, the werewolves i think were inspired by teen wolf, etc Edit: I also think the sims 2 were more parody traditional styled vampires while sims 4 is slightly more accurate to some depictions of vampires
As much as I like to shit on TS4, I must confess they really did a great job with their vampires! The dark form, the ability to drink without permission, no reflection, garlic, etc... The only thing I really don't like is the vampire lore skill thing.
TS4 is my favorite in the entire series probably because I can make better looking Vampires especially since I can make them completely normal and then creepy af in dark mode

I recommend having The Sims 3 Seasons installed together with (TS3) Late Night for vampires because Seasons brings parasols. Vampires can walk anywhere during the day if they have a parasol. Pre made vampires will automatically spawn a parasol if Seasons is installed. Also for a classical vampire look install Supernatural, unlike Late Nights modern vampire look.
It's a fight between Sims 2 and Sims 4. (With sims 2 having more variety and sims 4 being more realistic.) (Now that it's been settled. It's set at Sims 2 being more challenging and Sims 4 with variety)
I think 2 is a little more realistic in /some/ aspects, like rooms with sunlight being a problem, and how fast they die from sun. Also, I like how they burn up and turn to ashes in 2 and 3.... sims 4 should have done that....
Ooor Sims 2 was hard! I remember my first vampire died because he was back from work and had to walk from the car to his home in the daylight! It was a sad day because almost everyone in his family were vampires and they all ran to cry for him, I tried to stop them but it was too late, everyone but their toddler was burned into ashes and social services took him away :( but yeah, that made the game more challenging >:)
I love how you can tell in which direction they were going for in each sims game for vampires. In the sims 2 they went for a more cartoony version of vampires, like dracula. In the sims 3 they tried to capitalize on the success of twilight by making them seem more sexy and mature. And in the sims 4 they tried to go with a mix of them both, considering you can edit them to be as obnoxious or nuanced as you want.

1) They don't sparkle unless YOU make them sparkle. You have to buy a certain perk to make them do that. If you just want immortality, there are other ways to do that. 2) Not appearing in a mirror isn't really a big deal anymore in the legends. But if you want that, there's an option to turn reflections off. Some people want their sim vampires to be visible in mirrors. 3) It's NOT a coffin, it's an altar and is just as accurate to vampire legends as the idea of the coffin. There are tons of games with vampires that have altars instead of coffins.
LordofFullmetal you are true about the sparkles but... it is annoying seeing vampires are the park sparkling and before you say "just disable vampires then" i like them in my game because it makes full moons interesting as well as any night really.
Sims 2: Comedy Sims 3: Romance Sims 4: Thriller/Horror That's what I personally think. Sims 2 has the iconic bleh and probably the way they walk. Sims 3 kinda just reminds me of Twilight and the interactions are less... Scary. The Sims 4 has some very good visuals for vampires and is darker when it comes with the powers and the perks.

Actually sims 4 vampires don't only drink uncontrollably while thirsty.. i had a vampire family and my main vampire was about to be a father... his thirst bar was basically full and he just sucked the doctor dry.. and i had to wait for the doctor to wake up to deliver the baby... and in the sims 4 a child vampire can take on the skills of their parents.. both of mine had the bat trait and the kid had it too.. it was visible as a child as the interaction was there but greyed out like when they recently drank from someone and you click on them again.. so it is there but not useable.. i think it is the same for toddlers.. once they become a teen they already have that specific perk
Well I know they bite any sim that gets in their way when they get jealous. But I never experienced a vampire just randomly biting a sim. That is really interesting. Maybe they were enemies? But why would he be enemies with a doctor lol
I have TS4 Vampires and controlling emotions is so fun. My vampire was a global superstar and I got tired of being followed. So one day, I used the "burst of rage" power and all fans and paparazzi were so angry, three of them dropped dead on sight. Thorne Bailey died, was revived with the death flower, then died again. If he didn't have a family, I would have left his body behind.
Sims 4 Vampires and Witches are amazing. I love the idea behind powering up. Vampires unlock more abilities and witches get a spell book. I wish PlantSims in Sims 4 was a permanent state like in Sims 3. Also, now we need our werewolves! It would be cool to see what Sims 4 would do with that.
Sims 4 really expanded on the vampires and made them a lot more interesting. I did enjoy the Sims 2 vampires, but Sims 3 vampires had to be boring as balls in the game. I did enjoy the 'glowing eyes' but that's about it. :
I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but The Sims 4 wins this one in the largest better vampires of the franchise. It is proof that when EA wants, they can do a stonishing job. The focus on the vampires were huge, and justified the separated pack for them, instead of incliding in an expansion. The level of costumization, not only on the appearence, but in their habilities aswell. You can create any type of vampire you want! Also tge CONSEQUENCES exists this time with a weakness gained per hability. No clue why spellcasters doesn't have that..
I remember how naive I was to not know about cheat codes. Basically, I wanted my teen sims to become an adult and moved him out of the house, but I accidentally transformed him into a vampire before his birthday. He then stuck in his vampire form lol it was only 2 days left till birthday.
Sims 4 vampires are what you get when you mix Twilight and Dracula, especially my save which involves romance, a vampire who is immune to sunlight and my married vampire couple who go around sucking people's blood and terrorising everyone.
Once in the Sims 4 I had a Vampire break in my house but he didn't bit my sim and instead chilled a bit and talked to my kids,and in another game the same vampire went and bit my sim
First Vamp was Caleb and the other one was Vlad Caleb doesn't bite, amd is pretty social and flirty. But he does still break into houses just to chill Vlad on the other hand is a total asshole
Sims 4 is my all time favorite, I never played the sims 2 one though, but I had late night for sims 3 and loved it, but the sims 4 vampires definitely wins!!
something to be said about toddler and child vampires in TS4 if you have seasons installed-- although they don't have any vampire powers, they're still unaffected by temperature like fully-fledged vampires
I think the CAS of Sims Medieval, open world of sims 3, moods of sims 4 and better building options like you pick thickness of walls, a better world with history to it (like victorian, Tudor, medieval left overs so you could explore the castles etc) would be perfect for sims 5. Also making it harder to become a vampire like exploring a tomb and coming across one and when you see them they will attack but if you win the fight you walk out fine but if you lose you become one like the mummy thing in sims 3 ): i know this had no relevance to the video but seeing how little everything changed just made me think.
I dont know if it is intentional or just a bug but I am gonna give Sims 4 the benefit of the doubt and say it is intentional because it is really cool if its really intentional. So I had 2 vampire sims. They both had the withered stomach weakness and one of them had the only being able to sleep in coffins weakness. I wanted to play with that household in kind of an alternate universe situation when Island Living came out so I made a new save and turned them into humans using the vampire cure then I turned one of them into a mermaid. But the thing is they kept some little things about their vampire lives. At first they kept getting nauseous and even throwing up after eating food, but i think its frequency decreased over time. And one time the one that could only sleep in coffins was uncomfortable/tense after sleeping in a bed and he had a daymare. It could be a bug but I hope its not because if its not a bug then its so cool that they think this through and made the pack this detailed.
Sims 4 for the win in this category. Interesting side-fact: When my Vampire sim had twins with a human sim in Sims 4, one of the twins was a vampire and the other a normal human. I only got Vampire Children from the same parents in Sims 3.

Don’t get sims 4. It’s pretty bad in my opinion and gets boring really fast. You may play it all day the first day you get it, but after that you’ll catch yourself playing the game a lot less. In my opinion you should get sims 3 because it has a lot to do in just the base game and becomes even more fun as you get expansion packs. But if you think you’ll like sims 4 then go for it. I still suggest 100% getting the sims 3 though
one fact you missed: in sims 3 a vampire sim get sick (nausea) if they eat a plate of food that have garlic as an ingredient (like the vegetarian sim eating a dish containing meat) and will feel sick for a couple of hours, throw up etc. other tiny fact: in Sims 4 if you have several garlics in your inventory you can make the garlic wall deco you showed (don't remember how many garlics are needed, 3 or 5), it's not crafting as the wall item will immediately appear in your inventory.

That's what I personally think. Sims 2 has the iconic bleh and probably the way they walk. Sims 3 kinda just reminds me of Twilight and the interactions are less... Scary. The Sims 4 has some very good visuals for vampires and is darker when it comes with the powers and the perks.

Actually sims 4 vampires don't only drink uncontrollably while thirsty.. i had a vampire family and my main vampire was about to be a father... his thirst bar was basically full and he just sucked the doctor dry.. and i had to wait for the doctor to wake up to deliver the baby... and in the sims 4 a child vampire can take on the skills of their parents.. both of mine had the bat trait and the kid had it too.. it was visible as a child as the interaction was there but greyed out like when they recently drank from someone and you click on them again.. so it is there but not useable.. i think it is the same for toddlers.. once they become a teen they already have that specific perk

Sims 4 Vampires and Witches are amazing. I love the idea behind powering up. Vampires unlock more abilities and witches get a spell book. I wish PlantSims in Sims 4 was a permanent state like in Sims 3. Also, now we need our werewolves! It would be cool to see what Sims 4 would do with that.

Sims 4 really expanded on the vampires and made them a lot more interesting. I did enjoy the Sims 2 vampires, but Sims 3 vampires had to be boring as balls in the game. I did enjoy the 'glowing eyes' but that's about it. :

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but The Sims 4 wins this one in the largest better vampires of the franchise. It is proof that when EA wants, they can do a stonishing job. The focus on the vampires were huge, and justified the separated pack for them, instead of incliding in an expansion. The level of costumization, not only on the appearence, but in their habilities aswell. You can create any type of vampire you want! Also tge CONSEQUENCES exists this time with a weakness gained per hability. No clue why spellcasters doesn't have that..

Sims 4 vampires are what you get when you mix Twilight and Dracula, especially my save which involves romance, a vampire who is immune to sunlight and my married vampire couple who go around sucking people's blood and terrorising everyone.
Once in the Sims 4 I had a Vampire break in my house but he didn't bit my sim and instead chilled a bit and talked to my kids,and in another game the same vampire went and bit my sim

I think the CAS of Sims Medieval, open world of sims 3, moods of sims 4 and better building options like you pick thickness of walls, a better world with history to it (like victorian, Tudor, medieval left overs so you could explore the castles etc) would be perfect for sims 5. Also making it harder to become a vampire like exploring a tomb and coming across one and when you see them they will attack but if you win the fight you walk out fine but if you lose you become one like the mummy thing in sims 3 ): i know this had no relevance to the video but seeing how little everything changed just made me think.
I dont know if it is intentional or just a bug but I am gonna give Sims 4 the benefit of the doubt and say it is intentional because it is really cool if its really intentional. So I had 2 vampire sims. They both had the withered stomach weakness and one of them had the only being able to sleep in coffins weakness. I wanted to play with that household in kind of an alternate universe situation when Island Living came out so I made a new save and turned them into humans using the vampire cure then I turned one of them into a mermaid. But the thing is they kept some little things about their vampire lives. At first they kept getting nauseous and even throwing up after eating food, but i think its frequency decreased over time. And one time the one that could only sleep in coffins was uncomfortable/tense after sleeping in a bed and he had a daymare. It could be a bug but I hope its not because if its not a bug then its so cool that they think this through and made the pack this detailed.

Interesting side-fact: When my Vampire sim had twins with a human sim in Sims 4, one of the twins was a vampire and the other a normal human. I only got Vampire Children from the same parents in Sims 3.

Don’t get sims 4. It’s pretty bad in my opinion and gets boring really fast. You may play it all day the first day you get it, but after that you’ll catch yourself playing the game a lot less. In my opinion you should get sims 3 because it has a lot to do in just the base game and becomes even more fun as you get expansion packs. But if you think you’ll like sims 4 then go for it. I still suggest 100% getting the sims 3 though
one fact you missed: in sims 3 a vampire sim get sick (nausea) if they eat a plate of food that have garlic as an ingredient (like the vegetarian sim eating a dish containing meat) and will feel sick for a couple of hours, throw up etc. other tiny fact: in Sims 4 if you have several garlics in your inventory you can make the garlic wall deco you showed (don't remember how many garlics are needed, 3 or 5), it's not crafting as the wall item will immediately appear in your inventory.

8:05 That's the ghost of a vampire that died of thirst. The only vampire ghost you can create yourself in CAS. When a vampire dies of another cause (like electricity) and you then get their ghost into your household, they look like any other ghost, but still are vampires.
