My wife & I each Purchased % guitars each from Donner on the sale they had Labor day weekend. They have great guitars however We had issues with a few with pickups & neck that a beginner intermediate player may not be able to fix like neck pocket needing to be shimmed. & pickups needing to be re adjusted they actually WOBBELED in a few. That is an easy fix. However they should step the QC & solve these issues. We love Donner we each have 10 each or close to it Donner Guitars. We each have The Donner Arena 2000 Multi Effects Pedals. A few Donner pedals. Can't say enough about the Donner Arena AWESOME. Great Review.... Cheers 🍻🥃🥃😎🎸🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶☮
Donner is awesome for the price and all the other gear they offer too, for musicians amateur and professional! Asmuse is another great brand I own two of them and they had a little issues but they still rock !
Very good demonstration and review. You covered all the details of the guitar and I would probably get one if I didn’t have an overwhelming number of guitars already.
Another Great Review! 💥💥💥 I love everything about this guitar, especially the woods. Thanks for giving us happy ears on this otherwise typical Monday! 😁 💥🎸💥🎸💥🎸💥🎸💥🎸💥
I see they have another version with SSH too. The price is a bit shocking for a Donner, but why not with all that great hardware and electronics- they clearly didn’t cheap out on this one upon closer inspection.
It has a trem. THROW IT AWAY! Kiddin. I'm not a big wood finish guy, but the if I look past that, the looks is pretty clean. Sounded a little anemic on the rhythm parts. Clean sounded nice. Coil split seemed to work pretty good. Shred sounded very Shreddy. Not exactly in my price range, but I can bet plenty would like it. Thanks for the review!
At first glance, I wasn’t seeing $500. However after hearing it, it definitely sounds worth it. Richard, you make these guitars sound good but this one sounds especially good. I absolutely want one now. I didn’t even know about these. I somehow missed them. Thanks for another great video man. 🤘
That guitar is fantastic for the money, but nothing compared to the shirt you are wearing. Keep thinking you will run out of cool shirts but you never disappoint
Yo bro sounds really good. I am not a fan of the natural finish, but to each his own. I agree about the frets. I don't like it when they are balled up because some of them don't go all the way down to the end.
Looks real nice, sounds great, I’m just not a fan of bolt on necks. I’ve had to use them all my life because set neck and neck thru guitars were always out of my price range but thanks to brands like Firefly and WestCreek, I can now afford set neck guitars at least. My Epiphone Firebird is neck thru but that was just over a grand after taxes. The only bummer about Firefly is they don’t ship to Canada. The dope stash spot on the back is pure genius.
Richard I have purchased 2 of the guitars in your links above, the Fesley FDK800 and the Jackson JS11. Both are ASTOUNDING VALUES!!! Your reviews are my go to before I buy anything now lol. 😎🤘
Everything I've used from Donner has been awesome. My main sound is from the arena 2000, have u tried 1 yet? Y oh would like it Richard. Good vid and nice guitar. Great jam
Man that is tempting!! Checks A LOT of boxes! Im not sure anyone else noticed that they even installed the correct height bridge saddle screws. If the fret job is as good as you are saying then it will be worth the savings in labor cost or time. I’m not sure there could be any other improvements (well your 24 fret improvement). Oh…How is the neck thickness?
Maybe because it's below the tone knob it might have been also for a push button kill switch. Or battery. It looks like it might be right under the trem bar.
That neck pickup must be low output because they sounded almost like a single coil clean. Actually made me think it was in single coil mode, until you pulled the push-pull out and played the single coil bridge. (After watching a bit.) Yeah, 6-7k sounds right for that sound. Not bad and very smart. Keep the chunk at the bridge and the dream at the neck. But it's only offered in two finishes: natural and green. And the green is HSS not HH. That's kind of weird, Donner. Not sure if want. EDIT: Every guitar should come with a battery compartment like that, even if it's unpopulated. Stop telling guitarists what they need, and give them the extra space to do what they want. Tools, not rules.
Richard, at this price point, you should check out All In One (AIO) / Wolf guitars. Some models have a similar vibe to this but with some better appointments/materials for around the same price.
Sorry But it’s Basically a Mahogany spec d out DMT series. I think there’s a seeker series as well. This I believe it the same shape as the DMT 200 but don’t quote Me. Ask them on reverb they’ll come down to 399$
That’s real Mahogany too Wow , I talked to them on Reverb Richard Bald Shredder and they had 7 units. He said he couldn’t let them go under 399$ so sale ahead or what I’m selling a Mitchell and LP style for this. and with Your code as well? That’s a Steal
Question, how can I tell a 1st generation Monsoon from the 2nd generation in the Amazon web site? I have the 1st one, but I am interested in getting the 2nd gen version. Any pointers?
The ones on Amazon now are 3rd generation. 3rd generation have locking tuners and stainless steel frets. 2nd generation had roasted maple neck, neck binding, burl top finishes, but no locking tuners. 1st generation had regular maple necks (not roasted).
Honestly, buying Donner in a world where Harley Benton fusion III models with better specs exists and other brands and this being 500$ dollars without locking tuners, I really don't get why would somebody buy this over a guitar that costs nearly the same and has better specs. It's a cool guitar tho.
Does anyone else not like the volume placement on that guitar? I personally hate any thing in my picking space. It feels restrictive. If it doesnt bother you or that's your thing I understand. But does anyone else not like it? I have to mod all my guitars to get those volumes out of that placement. I would take the tone out completely and put the volume pot where the tone pot is.
How does a brass block improve durability 😂 Also interesting that when a guitar has rounded fret ends, it's " Awesome " and when it doesn't, " it doesn't need it" 😂 Donner needs to reevaluate pricing. They're asking double it's worth
anyone with even a rudimentary grasp of basic psychology or Bernaisian theory in marketing would have figured out that st 500$ they should made up a different brand . That name will forever be synonymous 89$ sweatshop firewood.
😅bhahahàha listen i just bought 5 chinese guitars built in reverb n delay active humbucker two single coils nice thin neck good fret work n everyone of the then nice as the others i sold em all then regretted it so i just bought 3 more hope that well dont run dry in not sure how they sell so cheap but imma keep biying them
I would never pay that amount for such a crappy guitar company their products generally suck they are made of the cheapest materials and quality as well.
nice but not 5 bills nice
Donner is stepping up! okay. they make very good stuff so
I'm on board.
Very nice. It sounded great and I am a bit surprised that Donner went this deep, but they did a fine job. Keep on shredding!

I watched the video and after that immediately bought the guitar; thanks for the discount and excellent review
I hope you like it
Keep the videos coming I enjoy them.
Sounds and looks amazing Richard! I love natural wood finish guitars 🎸

I like it. Thanks for the demo RJ
another good demo and review. It's amazing how good inexpensive gear has beome.
And how spoiled we have become. Look at all the comments complaining about the price. $499 is NOT unreasonable for a guitar of this quality.
Looks beautiful, sounds great and amazing value.
I see they have another version with SSH too. The price is a bit shocking for a Donner, but why not with all that great hardware and electronics- they clearly didn’t cheap out on this one upon closer inspection.

Someone can install a kill switch in that empty hole.
Nice guitar, nice shredding samples. Thank you.

These have been flying under the radar. So glad I finally got one.
@@thebaldshredder me too. Lol
👍🏻😎I really like my Donner DST-400. I'd like to get one of the new DST-700.
I’m going to broke after this review thanks 🙏 you as always
Sounds and looks awesome!!🎸🎸🎸😎😎
Awesome review, brother!
Hope you can get your hands on the new EART guitars, I'd love to hear what you have to say about them
That guitar is fantastic for the money, but nothing compared to the shirt you are wearing. Keep thinking you will run out of cool shirts but you never disappoint
They are competing with a heck of a lot of companies and options at that $499 price tag but it is a nice guitar.
Yo bro sounds really good. I am not a fan of the natural finish, but to each his own. I agree about the frets. I don't like it when they are balled up because some of them don't go all the way down to the end.

Awesome, thank you!
How do the frets differ on those two guitars?
@@bluwng The Fesley has med, the JS11 has actual jumbo frets.
Cool beans! We'll not beans? Hot tamale! Well not tamale? Cool..??..?..?? Thanks Richard Pitt Shredder 😊🤘
Everything I've used from Donner has been awesome. My main sound is from the arena 2000, have u tried 1 yet? Y oh would like it Richard. Good vid and nice guitar. Great jam
Dear Donner:
Reverse Headstock and 24 even more gigantic frets.
PLEASE!!!!!
Thanks. I really enjoy your channel .shredddddd away bro..✌
I appreciate that!
I thought I would see moonmen in my backyard before a $500 Donner…yowzee!!!
Man that is tempting!! Checks A LOT of boxes! Im not sure anyone else noticed that they even installed the correct height bridge saddle screws. If the fret job is as good as you are saying then it will be worth the savings in labor cost or time.

Oh…How is the neck thickness?
Not as thin as a Jackson or Ibanez, but modern C shape. Not chunky at all. Very comfortable.
Maybe because it's below the tone knob it might have been also for a push button kill switch. Or battery. It looks like it might be right under the trem bar.

The affordable guutar market is getting so much more high end. Shows that you mostly pay for a name.
YAARRRGGGG!!!!!!!
Richard, at this price point, you should check out All In One (AIO) / Wolf guitars. Some models have a similar vibe to this but with some better appointments/materials for around the same price.
I have a Wolf that I got from Guitar Max. Great guitar.
I snagged a omen black cherry extreme Fr. In the box for about 5. And a in the box Dean MD Fr, with Seymour Duncans for 5.
It seems Donner has taken it up a step since collaborating with a few big-name artists
now if Donner could just start offering left handed models i’m sure they’d sell out
Pass for 500 you can get a kramer classic with a floyd rose or a Jackson js32 also with floyd rose both are under 400 dollars
How do you feel about Schecter guitars? Like the C-6 for example, it's a low cost one.
locking tuners don't help your guitar stay in tune, its for fast string change.
uh oh youre moving up the price scale..that a bit more than your typical reviews..lol
sounds cool and youre using a whammy!
Not bad at all. I think at $500 it's a bit pricey and has a lot of serious competition.
Kebab guitars does it again! \m/
Cool, but there’s several I’d spend that 499 on first. A Kramer striker is less & equally as good.
I need it
Put some Bill Lawerence USA XL 500s and call it done
exactly what does it cost and from where?
can a 9v battery actually fit in like that? aint they usually more slong and square for the battery to lay in?
Sorry But it’s Basically a Mahogany spec d out DMT series. I think there’s a seeker series as well. This I believe it the same shape as the DMT 200 but don’t quote Me. Ask them on reverb they’ll come down to 399$

Nice
Would you mind doing a full review and shred on a Lyxpro Strat sunburst?
How about a review of the Lyxpro mini strat with 2 humbuckers? I have one so I'll eventually get to it.
'It's thick!' (That's what she said!) ;oP
Cool guitar - no doubt. But no thank you on dropping 5 Bens for...... a Donner.
Mahogany is not a heavy or dense wood this is a misconception we picked up from Les Pauls.
Question, how can I tell a 1st generation Monsoon from the 2nd generation in the Amazon web site?

Richard’s never met a free guitar he wasn’t willing to love and promote! BTW, WTH wants guitars with EXTRA cavities?🤣🤣🤣🤣
You obviously never watched my GTRS S800 review
Honestly, buying Donner in a world where Harley Benton fusion III models with better specs exists and other brands and this being 500$ dollars without locking tuners, I really don't get why would somebody buy this over a guitar that costs nearly the same and has better specs. I need a Rykata as well
I was wondering if ut was worth it.
Totally worth it.
I like extra extra jumbo frets 🤷♂️
$500 for a lesser known name is a bit steep, I would choose, Ibanez, Jackson or Schecter instead
How does a brass block improve durability 😂
Also interesting that when a guitar has rounded fret ends, it's " Awesome " and when it doesn't, " it doesn't need it" 😂

When Donner passes $400 I get nervous & $500 is way too much for an Amazonian special, no matter how nice....
This isn't on Amazon
Not for 500, I got a used LTD 1000 for 653
anyone with even a rudimentary grasp of basic psychology or Bernaisian theory in marketing would have figured out that st 500$ they should made up a different brand . That name will forever be synonymous 89$ sweatshop firewood.
"Richard" ?!? And here I thought that your first name was "Bald" 🤣🤣🤣

Is that a trem James???, I see... ¡¥¡
LOL, You can probably find a decent Ibanez for that money.
Did you say 499.00 ? 😂😂😂😂
Sorry but I would never take a chance on spending almost $500 even for a guitar like that,. Not worth taking the chances!!!
"YOU" could probably play almost anything and make it sound decent. So ?
Yeah, so??? lol
@@thebaldshredder BTW , thanks for the heads up on "Fallout" on prime . I binge watched the whole thing .
24 frets or none at all!
no midrange ... Muddy sounding and cheap tones... not my axe!
