It's so cool you went thrifting here in Europe! But yeah, finding stuff to flip on ebay is extremely difficult! I envy you guys in the US with your 0.50$ and 1$ finds!
Please look into using space bags when you travel. They are the bags that you vacuum out the air from. They also have travel bags that you roll the air out of and they work so well!!! The warehouse looks great! Lol I love that you refunded the persons money! That is awesome and what sets you apart from so many others.
@@LupieHousewifeMy airman son uses the space saver type bags when he travels home, and we've used them when traveling. They often come with a hand pump, which takes a bit longer than a vacuum but does work well. Thanks to these bags, we were able to travel from CA to Florida as a family without taking any checked bags. We each just took a decent sized carry-on suitcase, as well as one personal bag.
Josh, here’s an idea for a Whatnot show. How about a Mystery Pull for the Disney pins and keychains. You could have a set price or they could bid. Winners won’t know what they won until they receive it. And of course you could add your twist to make the mystery pulls be better. Just an idea!
There are several wholesalers in Europe that source in the US and offer bulk vintage US clothing for sale to shops like the ones you visited in Rome, more vintage clothing shops, that's why the prices are more retail than flip prices. That's probably where the shops you visited got there stock from. There are more 'typical' larger thrift shops with better flip prices, but typically not in the center of a city, because they have bigger locations and the rent prices. But it differs for each country in Europe. Good to see you had a great time btw!
We call it Charity Shopping. Most of our Charity shops support different well worth charities in our country and world wide. It usually depends on where the shops are situated. Those looked like Vintage Shops to me. I have a few favourites, the Children’s Hospice, Save the Children and Heart Chest and Stroke. Also the Salvation Army is really a worthy charity.
Thanks I Bet My Friend You Couldn’t Go 12days Without Thrifting 🫣 Any Time You Need Your Warehouse Cleaned & Organized Just Take A Vacation AWESOME Job Kim!! Priority GOLF Looking Forward To Bins & Booth NEED That Gum Ball Recap! Happy you had fun across the pond! All The Best! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
I love that you were able to travel to Europe! Bummer the Trevi Fountain wasn't on; it's so pretty. I've been to Italy and Greece twice and would go every year if I could afford it. Greece has been my favorite I have traveled to- love the people, their food, and the beautiful country. Welcome home!
Your workspace looks way better now. Hoping you get back on track soon. Once you get the rental house out the way, you should have a lot less pressure. Keep well and glad you had a nice trip. Kind regards from South Africa ❤
Make some more travel videos! I know your niche is reselling but I think because your following is so strong you have more opportunities to do other videos or projects. You and Hailey are wholesome something we need in todays world.
Erroneous shipping happened to me (as the buyer) in 2018. The post office had mis-entered the dimensions which raised the expected postage $16. I took the box to my post office and they confirmed the error. They wrote me a statement on a post office printed estimate. I relayed it to the seller. He eagerly agreed to get the shipping charge corrected and, like you, refunded it right away. He god excellent feedback from me.
I hope you enjoyed your travels! For frame of reference, the first thrift store you visited is more in line with what you guys do than what Goodwill does ;) - only, outside of America, it's not impossibly expensive to have your own shop! :)
My best friend is the character actor for Goofy at Walt Disney World and he never collected Disney pins until he got that job and went to cast connections and was able to get all of the goofy pins at the time. From what he's told me, most character actors will start collecting their characters pin and go from there
Glad y9u had a great trip!! Don't know if you've ever watched her but Laura Caldwell, who is from OR, has done many thrifting trips to Europe and just did one in Japan(the video from Japan isn't posted yet). She also hosted several trips. Some amazing finds.
I noticed that as well. I sold a cheap ping wedge for 20, and the shipping was 60. I was surprised. Only took like 17 to ship with the dimensions. So thats maybe why some of my calc listings aren't selling
Glad you had a great vacation. Blessings as you go to camp and then Haley goes to Honduras. We are missionaries in Mexico City Nd I can assurw you that visitors from Home (USA) are always an encouragement. Love following you guys on TH-cam.
when we were vacationing in Australia we went to a couple of thrift stores and were able to buy the best souvenirs for hardly anything. I also picked up a few pieces of Agee Pyrex that I was able to flip. I just packed my clothes around them in the suitcase.
So Mr. Tornado, regarding that pesky shipping problem. I have been known to refund even a small shipping amount because Ebay keeps over estimating the shipping charges. Lately I have been using flat rate shipping. After about 19 years of selling on Ebay and maintaining my 100 per cent feedback I will do just about anything to hang on to my rating. My customers don't know that but I'm proud of my standing. I sell mostly vintage jewelry because I'm disabled and can't do a lot of heavy shipping and trips to post office, etc. Easy to estimate flat rate shipping.
I contacted a lady and asked about bringing vintage clothing to Tokyo to flip there and then have room to bring things home. I wanted to figure out a way to help pay for a trip. She said they take things in from people, but only certain styles. I’m still wanting to try doing this somewhere. I thunk Levi’s, vintage t shirts, and vintage Ralph Lauren would be good items to sell/trade. They love made in USA & USA designer items.
There is an Auction House nearby here in Eastern Ontario. They have people in Europe buying up items and using a shipping container. They did it consistently for many years. It must have been profitable. Thank's for Sharing
Greetings! I am a fan of yours from Europe. I should have warn you before that most of the Europe is VERY expensive, especially Italy, France, England and all the northern countries. The northern countries (mainly Norway) are also not friendly and hospitable to any kind of strangers... For any future visits, i recommend Germany, Austria, Turkiye and the southern Europe. I am glad you had fun anyway! Looking forward to new 'picking' videos! Thx for being so nice! Wish you all the best and even more success!
I loved Italy when I went. I spent 8 days in Venice and really immersed myself. I hope I get to go again someday. I bet Italy is a good place to source vintage items like linens, costume jewelry, and Catholic accessories. I brought back, small new items of pottery, glass, linens, and clothing that I bought at street markets. I went in 1994, and still have a lot of the things I bought there. What a fun place to travel and you were there before the super busy season! I normally send a partial shipping refund if the calculated shipping is $4 or more over actual shipping cost. I don't get the Disney thing either, but I am happy to take advantage of it and source and sell Disney stuff. I only buy from smaller sellers on WhatNot. If there are too many viewers, I bounce. You should take out the taxes from the flip house budget.
I adore you guys 💓❤ But you really should have researched your vacation. There is so much to explore in Italy and enjoy! Food and the culture where you are is awesome 😎 ❤❤
The touristic location of those European vintage shops definitely increased the selling price of the items. But nevertheless, vintage items are priced very high here, even when you buy from the original owner sometimes. People look up what the item sells for on Etsy and charge you that price. They don't even take into consideration that when selling on Etsy, you have to pay like 15% of that price in commission.. Local garage sales are definitely the best place to buy.
We are headed there in aug my nephew is getting married there fron the USA but they wanted a destination wedding crazy but fun I hope . I’ll have to check out these shops for sure .
If you're actually going to flip the house, I would take every expense out of the budget. If you're going to rent it, I probably wouldn't take the property tax out, because it'll be an ongoing expense even after you're done fixing the house up, since you'd still own it.
Problem is shipping stuff overseas, I send medium size walmart boxes full of clothes to my family and friends in Korea and it's over $100 a box usually.
This reminded me of when the American Pickers went to Italy. They bought a motorcycle, though, and had to ship it home 😂 I'm like you when it comes to shipping refunds. I sell infrequently, and if the shipping is only a small amount off, I don't bother with a refund, but there have been a couple times when the customer paid more than $10 too much for shipping, and I have issued a partial refund. One of those times, the buyer mentioned it in his feedback, so that was nice.
My man I am from Italy, for good deals you need to go to the flea markets that take place sunday and saturday morning. Rome has many of them and is known for very good deals (danger of fakes super high).
I think definitely include the taxes as a cost and the utilities, really everything should be factored in, only thing you might not care to include is like gas to go back and forth, if you pay to have it mowed, although that could add up as well.
WOW ! Italy is so beautiful! I've eaten buffalo meat but I've never drank or ate anything with buffalo milk ewww. That gelato would have been a hard pass for me too Haley!
Nice video from Rome. You guys are so busy, slow down a little. When you don’t want to do something is when you have to do it. Otherwise it stays behind, I know been there done that. ❤
you should add up all the bills from the flip House and at the end of it being complete you should take what ever money is left and try and make it into the total bill price within a Certain amount of videos
I go to shops every year in germany . There vintage not thrift stores . I have never found anything to resell because of prices . They buy bulk pallets from overseas .
the issue with charity shops in the UK over the past several years is that the majority hire someone to check eBay and sell close to or the same so there are very few bargains to be had.
So I’m not sure, but the thrift shop you were in looks like one I remember in the Trastevere neighborhood, does that sound familiar? I have a home in southern Italy, and travel to Rome frequently. I always bring an extra suitcase home for eBay. I wish I had known you would be there. There are fantastic places if you know where to look and a flea market every Sunday!
What part of Greece did you go? We went last summer to Athens then flew to Santorini. That was FANTASTIC. Also, the coliseum is amazing. Glad you had a good time.
You guys might want to start a "serie of videos" to check the thrift shops in México or even central América 😅 that could be a good excuse for vacation but also good deals. Greetings from El salvador!
Did you try any gelato while in Rome or Venice? It's soooo good! How did you like the cities? We went to Rome, Florence, and Venice about 10 years ago. It's so cool to see the ruins that they uncover just to build new stuff!
Here is the video of our big Disney haul from last year. In case you missed it :)

Yes !! It’s expensive in Australia too!! We don’t have the excess of items or the large populations

I was thinking of those space bags just for the tornados just to store stuff.
I think they'd need a vacuum for the space bags.

@@LupieHousewife As I stated in my comment they have ones that you roll to push the air out. They also have a pump.
You've ended up in a 'vintage' shop not a thrift store, difference being they have a few designer pieces and the prices are inflated.
Yeah vintage shops are curated and the time that takes, costs money.
"This is a picture of like some ruins". LOL 🤦🏻♀
That sounds like a wonderful vacation! Y’all deserved it; seem like wonderful people🙂
7:46 WOW! The coliseum! Thank you for sharing
I bet Mose missed you both so much x
Yes sir, take all expenses from the budget. They are costs that accrue until you sell, just like paint, cabinets etc. Stay safe.
2:14 did he call the fur jacket leather? Lol
Welcome back. Glad had nice trip. Thans for sharing part of trip.I enjoy it.
Glad you all had a wonderful vacation. I went to Spain / Italy last year, and Wld LOVE to live there. just SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

If permitted, be certain to file for the homestead reduction in the flip house property taxes so you can continue to keep these taxes low.

Its the length that throws it up anything over a certain length there is an extra charge with USPS.
For €60 you can mail a large yellow Italian box 📦 no weight limit & took only 3 weeks from Rome to AZ!
