Well it was never really deep down. Yes his "everybody loves Raymond" musings were a bit much but he always had his back when it counted and seemed to genuinely like hanging out with him.
I think this was the best ending to me! It was dark, but it felt like one! When Deb called Robert's name that did it for me! And frank with the distress look thinking that his son may not make it is a parents worst fear!😢😢
We must realize that we all care about our family and friends even when they get on our nerves we love them. And it's better that they get on our nerves and that they are still with us.
Really? I seriously hated this one. Ridiculous and unrealistic how that nurse upset everyone. I think I was just done with the Raymond is such a delicate baby and Marie's over protectiveness, climbing into bed with Ray. Too much for me. But judging by the comments, many viewers did love this episode.
@bluemoon2675 I know what you mean. It was more so this particular scene that's my favorite, not really the entire episode. I should have specified that.
@@Nicole.Ella.TheFortress No it's fine. I wasn't criticizing you. I am a huge fan of the show, seen all the episodes many times, this one just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Stellar cast.
@@bluemoon2675 I agree it was a really great cast. I could always tell they had good chemistry amongst each other, which I'm sure helps a lot. But yes there were several episodes where I was irritated with Marie and Raymond's entire dysfunctional relationship.
@@Nicole.Ella.TheFortress Yeah it got overplayed a bit. Every actor and actress on that show just added so much. Amy, Amy's parents, Deborah's parents, tee ball snack Nazi, the mean cookie lady who beat up Ray, all were spot on. Great show.
i think i'm ray in my family. i'm the youngest of six children of my parents. when i was having surgery due to an abdominal aneurysm for 8 hours instead of 4 hours in December 2007, the doctor talked to my dad and my sister. my mother would not have been able to hear this news. when i was in the icu recovering from the operation the doctor told me one of my kidneys was lacerated by accident when i was under the knife. i never told my mom that for the next 7 years of her life until the Lord called her home. i'm grateful i never had to tell her about my kidney. miss you, mom, and i love you very much 💚 💚 💚
It was such a beautifully written finale. Across the entire show Ray Romano always let every character shine equally. One of the reasons it was such a huge success.
The same thing happened to my wife. It was scary. She came out of it. She needed another hernia surgery because the Hospital allowed an incompetent to operate. Eventually they got rid of him without disciplining him. She needed a second hernia operation!!!! Take nothing for granted with doctors, especially surgeons!
No no listen to me I’m his brother I can wake him up RAYMOND!!! Put aside all the bs we can see how much Robert loved his brother in this short scene When they thought he wasn’t waking up Robert was literally going to bring the entire building down just to Save Ray there’s nothing like Brotherly Love ❤️
Wouldn't of been perfect, after Frank said that, Marie would come out and see their concerned faces, and said that's much better, then went and sat down
It's been 4 years and till this day it feels like it's been moments. I am the younger brother and this scene get to me so much, because I truly tried to wake him him up and he wouldn't respond, and he never did. My Lord knows.
I bet Debra would have loved it if Ray died he might have been a lazy husband but she did some mean things to him during there marriage like hitting him in the testicles i wonder how she would have felt if he did die
Today Jimmy Carter has passed away. I ask the cast of the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” to pay their respects to the 39th President of the United States of America
With due respect, Peter and Doris passed away years ago, before President Carter died today. It is a huge loss. As for Ray, Patty, Brad and Monica, I’m sure they already know the news by now. But thanks anyway, for the lovely gesture to this.
I'm not in the cast, but I admire President Carter very much, and always have. Super smart, a war hero, and, most important of all, a thoroughly decent honorable guy
Nurse: Debra Barone? Debra: Yep. Hi, how'd it go? Nurse: Mrs. Barone, are there any allergies or conditions your husband may have neglected to tell us about? Debra: What do you mean? Why? Nurse: Well we're having difficulty bringing him out of the anesthesia. Debra: What? Nurse: He should have been out by now. He's not responding, and his blood pressure has dropped below a certain level. Debra: Robert... Robert: What is it? Debra: He's not... Robert: What? Raymond? Amy: What's happening? Debra: He's not waking up! Robert: Well just let me go in there I'm his blood type. No, no, listen to me! He is my brother. I can wake him up. Raymond! Nurse: Sir, please! Doctor: Hi, are you the Barones? Robert: My brother is in there! RAYMOND!! Doctor: He's fine now. His blood pressure's returning to normal and he's coming out of it. This happens sometimes. It's a form of hypertension, but he's perfectly all right. Debra: Oh, thank you. Doctor: You can see him in a few minutes. Debra: Oh. Oh, my God. Robert: Well, okay but it was fine. Amy: Yes. Robert: He said it went fine. It went good. Amy: I noticed the nurse was still buttoned.
It was absolutely comical how the kids only showed up for the very first scene and very last scene and were afterthoughts even in the finale when their father almost died. Didn't go to the hospital, weren't there in the bedroom reveal scene, nothing. I know it was a great conclusion for how meaningless they were for pretty much the entire series, especially the twins, but it's still funny to me.
Sawyer Sweeten died by su*cide when he was a teenager Madilyn and Sullivan were his siblings in real life and had to cope with his loss Maybe show a little respect
I think it was a great finale. Didn't have some silly huge change that most sitcoms have, no extra length episode. The entire series was focused on Ray's selfishness and how annoyed everyone got with him, then you see how they all break down when he almost dies. What did you want the finale to be based on "what the storyline was"?
The acting felt so real. I can feel the emotions in everybody.
Same here...
Final episode of a series are pretty emotional for casts who worked together for years.. Guess they used that in this scene
Are you for real?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Debra: … Nobody tells Ray!
Frank: Or his Mother!
Then later on...Frank blabed...to his Mother! 😂
@
He kinda had to. Marie was weirded out by his sweeter-than-usual demeanor
Or the kids!
And then they told her
I guess everybody really did love Raymond.
Even though he is a self-centered ass.
@ no one in that family was a saint.
Roll the Credits
I see what you did there 😂

Deep down Robert really does care about Raymond.
Yes. And that was some wonderful acting by Brad Garrett.

Oh without a doubt…despite his mutterings, he really loves him
Well Robert is supposed to die before Ray anyways
One of the best acts I have seen in a sitcom. Even as a viewer I could feel my heartbeat go up watching this moment. Bravo ❤
Debra: last night he woke me up what if the nurse's top is unbuttoned and the surgeon gets distracted? at 0:50 LOL
😂😂😂😢😢😢... That was so sweet, ( and, almost sad)! Robert is so sweet demanding to wake his brother up.

No matter how many times Robert took pleasure in seeing Ray struggle or get into trouble, he cared about him and would do anything for him
1:08 Robert’s shit eating grin is priceless.
The Barones are just hilarious. 😂😂😂

They need to fire that nurse. That's not how you deliver news to a family. Causing that distress. When Debra's voice broke as she called for Robert 😢
She had No compassion for the family
😂😂😂 Robert saying " Ray has no feelings

Watching today’s shows, I forgot what actual “acting” looked like. ❤
Why would the nurse come out and say that to have the doctor say it’s all normal ??
It happens more often than you think.
How do you know he is a doctor? He could be another nurse.
He likely started returning to normal right after she left. She didn't know.

Great Acting...these people in this scene were 99% of the show.
Nobody tells Ray or his mother we all what happened later on after they they returned to the hospital
Frank never told Marie about Ray’s near death experience until when they were going to bed which was late that night.
Hypertension, imagine that with their family
That screwed me up big time!
Who wrote this script? His blood pressure was low…it’s a form of hypertension. 🤦♀️
Hypertension? I thought hypertension was high blood pressure not low.
Hypotension is for low.
