These room tour videos got me through the pandemic. Just a glass of wine, Tom's judgmental voice, and the denial that I'm actually in Disney world and not trapped on my couch. Love your work WDW!!! Hope to bump into you on our next visit in February for festival of the arts!

Should have put a washer and dryer where the extra vanity is.

As someone who grew up in Northern California and gets really nostalgic for cabin/mountain vibes, these modern cabins make me sad.

I feel you, Tom. I'm a fan of the previous generation of cabins... Little did we know on our 2021 trip that would be our last stay in those beloved cabins. Been looking for the artwork that used to hang above the bench in the kitchen/dining area... Seems like there's only one copy currently on ebay for nearly $1000. Wishing I could at least get a high-quality reproduction print.
The new layout doesn't make any sense. When I first saw the bathroom being completely across the cabin from the bedroom, I was a little confused.

Watched this while enjoying our first ever stay at the fort. I am loving the new cabin experience. I agree a small stackable like we just had at Saratoga would have fit where the extra sink is. We use split stays in a 1 BR for chance to do laundry mid trip worked out fine. 30 years of DVC stays and we’re finally at the fort with our points and taking a golf cart around the loops decorated for Christmas is magical.

Thanks for the tour Tom! That is just horrible. I miss the Disney that cared about theming within the places that Disney created.
The new "Cabins" are so out place within Fort.

Loved the old cabins. Not sure if I'll stay in one of these.

I feel like the intensity of Tom’s room reviews are fueled his New York upbringing…. Where poorly utilized space and unnecessary furniture are basically a crime

Hopefully you guys remember to close your curtains and blinds before streaking across the entire cabin to get to the bedroom!

Thank you for your review. DW and I (late 60's) are planning a future resort only trip to the cabins as we want to do a lot of what the Fort offers, and to be able to bring our Yorkie with us. Being able to bring our dog with us is a good aspect of these cabins. They have a place in DVC ecosystem even if everyone doesn't love them thematically. I'll stay there, but i won't buy there is my mantra!

First it feels like a tiny house not a cabin. Second, why couldn't they have put a stackable washer/dryer where the extra sink is? Third, they could've fixed the issue of having bunk beds in the master but they didn't.....why? I don't know the whole thing doesn't make much sense to me.

You can’t fully open the silverware drawer without it hitting the dishwasher. Didn’t really like that when we stayed. I dont care for the manual blinds. To me, its a huge liability for Disney to have dangling chains all over the place. There were a few other oddities I noticed but all in all I thought it was nice. Doesn’t seem to fit with the old Fort Wilderness but I think that is a purposeful movement in a direction the Disney management is making to create a dichotomy between the campers and the DVC members. No matter which way you cut it, Disney does not want a $600/night guest sharing amenities with a $60/night tent camper.

There's no reason to stay there. It's not fun. It's not charming. It's not a place that you can't wait to go back to. It's just another place. Bleh.

As a long time DVC owner who never stayed in the camp grounds or cabins I think I like what I see! I love the art work. For a family with small children the bunk beds look to be very appealing. The kitchen and living room are well designed to make the best use of the space. The Murphy bed works great. But of course I have to agree the placement of the bathroom is not ideal but necessary to make the rest of the space work. Will we buy points there? Never! But that is because it is not right for us. We are a married couple in our 60’s with no children. Will we stay there? Probably 1 and done but you never know. When BLT was built I couldn’t wait to stay and thought it would be a resort we might add another contract at. Well we were 1 and done! Great location but beyond that it really did nothing for me. Happy to own 2 contracts at OKW. If we can only stay at OKW until our points expire we will “suffer” through it!

Stay there the week after labor day. I am a dvc member from almost the beginning. In my opinion this project along with the new hotel has ruin a piece of disney and should have never been touch. The original cabins lasted 50 plus years these so call cabins will be luck to last half that time. The cabin I was in was 3 months old and I had a list of 20 plus things that needed fixing.
    Will not stay there again.

I think I'm glad I stayed at a Cabin this past Spring to have done it once. I will not be in a rush to ever consider paying to stay in one of these.
I'm not a DVC person, so it would be a cash stay if I did, not that I would like the theming any better if I was in DVC.
Looks like the old Cabins still show up on the website, but it's not clear if they are 100% unavailable/closed by now, or just hard to reserve (I would think they would totally be removed from the site if they were already totally closed down?).
I would be more likely to try to get in another quick visit at an old cabin than ever stay at one of these new ones.
Not sure if it's an official nickname for them, but a CM on one of the FW activities I participated in about a month ago referred to them as "the Sheds" when mentioning them.
I guess Disney can always tell people who want real Cabins that there are some available at Wilderness Lodge (though to the tune of several thousand dollars per night, of course).

Disney customer: "It's a steep price but I'll pay it if the theming is good."
Disney: "No problem, every single high-end room in every single resort is themed exactly the same! I hope you like oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, brown and white?! We got a killer deal from Marriott's clearance warehouse!"
Disney customer: "So what's the theme?"
    Disney: "Money. ....yours."
    Disney customer: "But this sucks."
Disney: "Well the United healthcare CEO was here with his family the other week and they said they loved it."

This was a much more positive review than I expected. Clearly this is because Tom is a total sellout to get on the media list and is willing to sacrifice everything he built for nearly two decades for a random $100 gift card at festivals from time to time when he spends hundreds for reviews.

It's so gray and bland. My husband and I would have liked to see natural tones, some woods. Like why does this look like an influencer's tiny home and not a Fort Wilderness Cabin?
We have been debating buying a Cabin DVC contract so we can bring our doggo, but the more I see of them, I think ugh.

It is a nice space, if it was a room at a wilderness themed hotel lol. Definitely not what I would be wanting or expecting if I am paying for a cabin at a "campground". Why the modern look and loss of charm? SMH Disney they sell log cabin kits online, could have bought and had wonderfully themed cabins with the same modern amenities as the crap you built. Could have created an experience and opportunity for guests to stay in a log cabin @Fort Wilderness. Rather than just another similar to everything else place to stay.

Yes Tom I have to agree you don’t get it. The old cabins were dark; yes they were log cabins were cool outside but the inside is themed great, space is well laid out. Sorry, don’t agree.
