  • If you're looking for a $500-700 solar blanket but not sure which one you should buy, STAY TUNED! I've just bought three blankets to put head-to-head over the next few months and will be bringing you the results right here!
    Please consider hitting the Thanks button and making a small donation. It'll help offset the $1800 I spent buying these blankets so I can bring you this review! :) Thanks!

      Thanks me too! Part is already done; do you reckon you'd prefer it all in one video as usual, or in multiple parts with each part released as they're filmed?

      @@TheMusingGreg good question for me I would prefer to see the side by side comparison. So the all in one is my preference as I will be using this to guide my purchase. 🙂

      Yeah that works for me too, other than the fact people don't get to see anything until everything's finished. Eg the feature comparison could still help someone even if the performance shootout wasn't available yet

      @@TheMusingGreg I suspect the features on the itech and the hardkorr will be similar. I will be interested to see how the companion compares but ultimately I am interested in their size and performance. Initially I will be using the panel as a supplementary charging for the 120ah lithium ion house battery in my kombi. Later I hope to add a second 120 ah battery to provide my electrical needs for all my adventures. 🙂

      Cool ok well stay tuned, I'll definitely be able to answer that question when it's all done, in fact I've got a pretty good idea already.

      Welcome Malcolm! Love Townsville, we had a couple of weeks there in 2020 (where I filmed the Giandel inverter follow-up review) and the Hinterland in particular was amazing! Several reviews' worth of content already captured, just need time to put them all together so stay tuned!

      Here's your answer in a 3 minute video
      th-cam.com/video/s3eJeQr5JNQ/w-d-xo.html
      At the current prices of $499 for the 200W and $669 for the 300W, both are pretty good buys and I'd generally recommend either. I've used both and would take the 300W over the 200W unit unless the 300W unit is too big. For a claimed 50% power gain the price is only 35% more.
      There are better 200W blankets out there than the iTechWorld, but this is a sharp deal and the lower price probably makes it worth the various trade-offs you have to put up with vs the competition (eg el cheapo regulator and 1 year warranty). But if you only had $500 to spend it's a good deal.
      The other option around this price point I can speak to would be the 200W Hard Korr. It's a bit more expensive but apart from being bigger it's a better unit all round and has a 3 year warranty.

    When are we going to expect this video to be released?

    • @TheMusingGreg
      @TheMusingGreg  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably July. I'll be travelling until June or July, so originally I was going to test them over the whole trip. However I've already captured a lot of data and might not need all that time, but there's so much data and footage it'll take some time to pull it into a succinct video as we're still driving most days.
      However if you need any purchasing advice in the meantime, feel free to leave a comment and I'll see if I can help out from what I've learnt so far.
