Nice job Sam. I especially like the part about “does the creator use it and is it ever shown again.” I like to see truth in advertising. If content creators use it, then show it over and over again. Prove it’s a quality product, or not. Good stuff.
Being a small content creator myself, I can agree that it's tough. Looking at it from a different angle, however, I can honestly say I have told myself after watching a video from someone else "I wish I knew about that product 5 years ago! Sure would've made my life a lot easier." So yeah, there is definitely some good to it but there are also some bad apples out there.
The main thing I ask myself before sharing a product is: “would I be happy with this if I spent my money on it?” If the answer is no I won’t push it. My word still means something to me which I think is important. I also often promote items I bought and have no affiliation with if I love it and it will help others. I also try not to bash products but will try to save people money if a product really falls short. Some good advice in this video. One more click towards 10k
Sam, that’s excellent information-thank you for sharing! I can relate to the challenge of impulse buying based on recommendations from TH-cam channels. When I bought my Kubota B, I added just one attachment: a set of forks. I passed on the backhoe and mower deck, thinking I’d only invest in what I needed. One product I thought was essential at the time was a stump digger. While it occasionally comes in handy, I haven’t been overly impressed with its performance. However, since I have a long driveway, I invested in a snow pusher, which has been a solid purchase. One piece of advice that stands out to me is something my dad used to say when I was a kid: “Work with what you’ve got.” That mindset has stuck with me, and I’ve found alternative uses for my attachments. For example, the snow pusher is excellent at dragging the driveway and moving piles of wood chips, while the stump digger is surprisingly effective for moving rocks and digging holes. As for rear three-point attachments, I still bought a bunch for my old Kubota B, but I rarely use them now. Money plays a significant part in tool purchases-if you don’t have the funds, you’ve got to make do with what you already own. The old Kubota handles all the rear attachments, while the new Kubota is reserved for loader tasks.
Hey Sam, it's very nice of you to tell these things to people. Even if a person thinks they know all this, it's useful to remind this to oneself from time to time. Have a nice Christmas time.
When I saw this, two things I ALWAYS think about came up! 1. I remember a while back, I was listening to the Tony Kornheiser POD CAST and he was talking to Steve Young and he gave him GREAT advise that he uses all the time, Steve said that whenever someone wants to have advertise their product, He ALWAYS said 'SEND ME A BOX OF IT'! 2. Piggy backing on that, Scotty who I watch A LOT always tells potential advertisers to send it to him and, If it's CRAP he will say it's CRAP, but if it works for him, he will say it works and he uses it! 9 out of 10 times, the advertisers DON'T send it to him!!!
Good video. Keep the reviews honest. I have bought several products after watching youtube videos. The products have always worked as intended. Another great example of a successful/failed sponsor was the buy one square foot to be called a lord a couple of years ago. They sponsored every creator out there. That was a big scam. I hope the creators got paid.
I appreciate your honesty. For me, being in England, the price is often the decider. I’ve seen stuff I would like but the price can four or five times higher here. I quite envy you in the USA and Canada when it comes to buying stuff.
Thank you for the insight. I had no idea prices were so high there. I knew Canada has a bit of a markup from the USA. It's good to be reminded of how fortunate we are so we don't take it for granted 🤠👍
Good morning Sam. Thank you for the way you explained yourself about the products seen on TH-cam and also applies to most everywhere else. There are some great products out there and there are some that are not so good. What you said was great advice. Thanks again for what you do and how you do it. Merry CHRISTmas to you and your family.
the best thing a youtuber can do with a tool the company sends them is stress test it use it normally then have a real close look at the product for faults and good things the company will watch
There are a lot of channels that I've unsubscribed to because all of the sponsored content. Indeed with solutions looking for problems, but also highly technical channels (mostly in electronics) and then start to 'promote' very very cheap multimeters that are utter crap compared to what those persons usually do on that channel and use on that channel, or that they suddenly start to promote a device for outside (like a generator or so) where they've been an indoor electronics channel for years. I don't mind how for example farmcraft101 promotes products, he manages to find a balance in that. The way you talk about it, I think you will find that same balance that is tolerable.
If I hear " sent me the but they have no say in the content of this video and do not get to see it before its published" one more time, I swear... Listen... I get it. YT has effectively knee-capped content creators with their compensation per view less than a cent. This is all YT's fault. Everyone knows it. But the disclaimer before the videos just ring hollow. We know that is literally the ONLY way to make money and are fine with it. But don't think we don't know. ;-)
The way Kubota partially sponsors other channels with new equipment I think they should consider you for all the positive comments you have said over the years unless of course that tractor is a Kubota sponsored item 🤔.
Hey Sam! would you recommend that Christmas tree? 🤣🤣🤣 My sister moved in with me a few years ago after a divorce and we knew it was going to be a permanent thing. Being single for a long time I had downsized everything, including my Holiday Decorations! my Christmas Tree was a two feet tall fiber optic tree that stayed in a box for 11 months out of the year, plugged in on my hearth for a month and back in the box. Well noy it looks like Santas house again after a few short years. My sister loves the holidays and it makes her happy/frustrated lol, so what do ya do? lol I don't really have any input, just teasing you about that tiny tree in that big room. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! After my divorce, decorations for the holidays were tough. What to put up? How much? Nobody celebrated anything at my house but I still wanted it to feel "Christmasy" I totally understand. My wife got it from Michael's. I think you nailed it, that's exactly what I want to see as a viewer 🤠👍

I agree 100% I hope this video helps viewers distinguish between the good stuff and the not-so-good stuff 🤠👍
Sam, nowadays when I do any dyi maintenance work will tell my family and kids ""Hi am Jameel, what am doing today, well today we .."
Haha! I love it!!! Thank you 🤠👍

Thank you for the advice about what a person should think about when buying a item being shown

Thank you! I think I remember that "scam". Definitely have to watch out for stuff like that. At least a physical product can be tested 🤠👍

@@bookworm67-hv7nm Thank you! That's a very good point. Normal use is one thing, but we have the opportunity to push a product to its limits 🤠👍
