I decided to upgrade my old iphone 8s plus for a Mclaren 7t Pro 5G a few weeks ago for $260. I can say its truly amazing for a 2019 device, it runs very smooth and its full screen notch-less design is very hard to find nowadays. The only downside I've found is the unnecessary lack of an update. I really wonder if the Pixel Experience is an upgrade to Oxygen 12 for a daily driver os. Great video!
I retired my OP7 Pro last week and bought a Pixel 8 256. Installed YAAP 14 Custom ROM on OP 7 Pro and it got smoother and faster I would have kept it for few more years but I recently got the pink vertical line and pretty bad burn ins on the notification panel. This is my Fav Phone ever. I don't think OP will even come close to making a phone like this ever. Stockish Oxygen OS+ full screen jaw dropping display. I'm actually sad haha
Just retired my 7 pro this year, replaced it with a nothing phone 2. Have to say it's been a pretty good upgrade, especially in the speed department. Agreed that it's still one of the best phone ever made though, totally shook up the the market when it came out
Nothing Phone 2 sounds like a good upgrade (I am actually using the Nothing Phone 1 right now, and actually enjoy using it even with a budget processor, the Nothing Phone 2 is definitely a needed upgrade.) I will never understand why the pop up camera ended with the LG Wing
This is definitely a phone ill add to the collection eventually. The 855 is still surprisingly strong to. Geekerwan overclocked the GPU, and admittedly modified the crap out of the phone, to make it faster than the 8 Gen 1.
The last OnePlus phone i had was the almond 7 pro. I think that was the best looking phone i ever had. I've been through many phones since but now i have a come back to OnePlus with the 12R. It has the best battery life of any phone I've ever used.
I just recently updated my 7 pro to lineageOS, came with some niceties and some caveats. I personally have a few issues with the volume randomly lowering for no reason I can detect, the volume overall is lower than it was on oxygenOS there's some weirdness with file permissions that make it weird for sharing files to various apps, but that might be because of how I've configured it (though I did so unintentionally I feel) I don't use my cameras much so I can't comment on the included camera app and I haven't tried grabbing the google camera app and finally some of my purchased android games which previously worked on oxygenOS don't even give me the option to install them on lineageOS which is a bit of a bummer That's all I can really think of at the moment for my experience getting lineageOS on my 7 pro. I _might_ try out another custom ROM, there were a couple pixel experience-style roms I saw when I poked around XDA, but unless I can figure out a way to image my phone and have the option to reinstall my current lineageOS setup if I don't care for it, I'm not about to do it.
I was never really a fan of Cyanogen and Lineage was ok, but I never daily drove that on any phone. I am curious to see the Android 14 version, but have always loved the custom Pixel Experience on other devices.
Just bought a refurbished 7t pro, which replaces my nothing phone one. Lets say if your usage is moderate its still a good device its powerful enough to handle everything you throw at it, its just the battery is a little bit less than what I get with the nothing phone one, say 7:10. You'll have to flash a custom rom like pixel experience on it though. Rest is all good.
I stopped using my 7pro because sprint was bought out and it was a sprint phone that tmobile wouldnt support. I then got the oneplus 12pro which is identical except i miss the hidden camera. Recently got sick of paying tmobile for service since they pretty much hikacked my account from sprint. Now im with spectrum mobile and have the s24Plus... it was a good run with oneplus. But they arent anything special compared to everyone else these days. And samsung offers 7yrs updates. Im hoping to keep this phone for 5yrs and just anticipating replacing the battery after a couple years or so. Now both my oneplus phones stay at home for wifi use or to open up whenever I wanna look at old photos or videos. I think I'll always keep my 7pro because imo it is the all around best phone I've ever owned. At least the one I was most pleased with. Every other phone since then is replaceable.
I still use this, got it on release, i must say some apps today now make it struggle, my only issue with this phone is the screen, it gets screen burn so easy...... Selfie cam was why I got this one, shame they seem to be a thing if the past
I think the image retention is a common thing with curved OLED panels, as I see it a lot in other phones. Haven't seen much screen burn, but my sample size is small for others with this phone/7T Pro
I keep my 7 pro in my tech pouch as my backup while traveling, I daily an iPhone 13 Pro and OnePlus Open now, but the OP7 Pro has got to be my favorite candybar phone of all time, even now when I take it out of the pouch (perfect condition) it looks better than most flagships and feels so right in the hands. I don't care what anybody says, I'm never selling it, I wish Oneplus returns to that minimalist design philosophy with the curved edges that make the screen look bezeless.
Still using one. One of the best phone in 2024 too. Better than the notch phones and little to no curve screen phone. Hard yo find an upgrade. Will move to folding phone next year.
I was so impressed with this device that I bought a refurbished one in superb condition in 2023 😄 Can you pls do a video on loading PixelExperience custom rom with OP 7 Pro?
@@meerachourasiya7114 Battery backup is not so great. Drops a lot in idle state as well. I'm planning to diagnose it with OP service centre and replace battery if they suggest
Any updates in regards to you updating to a custom rom? I love my phone, but the battery and camera doesn't holdup nowadays. Been eyeing the Oneplus 12, not sure whether to go for it.
I wish I never sold my McLaren Edition. I don’t know if it’s my favorite phone of all time but it was definitely top 3. If they went back to a recipe like this they would be selling a lot more phones. But I guess now all they’re worried about is their cheap phones you get for free from prepaid carriers
I am tocking my One+ 7 Pro going on 5 years later. 100% screen abd a secure front camera is difficult combination frm which to move away. I am not big on cameras and didn't not game.
I've been using this phone as my daily for about 4 years as well, and have definitely started looking to upgrade due to some software issues. I just haven't been able to decide what phone to get now. OnePlus seems to have gotten worse over time, but I really don't want to transition to Samsung and have to use their "Apple" version of Android. I've been using Oxygen OS exclusively for almost 10 years now, and REALLY don't want to leave it. I always go for last year's flagship as this year's best mid range phone, so have been looking at the OnePlus 10 Pro. I've been seeing mixed reviews on it though. Anyone have any recommendations?
Same here....my first oneplus phone was OP3 and Im still using the 7pro for 4.5yrs now... Im running on OS11 and didnt updated it to OS12 yet, Im not sure about it. I think the iqoo 12 with SD gen 3 will be a good choice.
Unfortunately, my OP7 Pro isn't able to go any further than Android 10 due to the carrier locking the phone out of updates. Honestly, I really just wanna keep using this phone but it's starting to become more of a headache than it's worth. Probably just gonna get a OnePlus 10 Pro and call it a day. Been using OxygenOS for too long to want to change operating systems.
Yeah, basically everything I've read about OxygenOS since it "merged" with Oppo's ColorOS has been bad. Their hardware is still really high quality and they're cameras are a LOT better now, but none of that matters if the software experience is frustrating. After doing a bit more research, I learned that NothingOS is basically everything that we all loved about OxygenOS with some new stuff added. The Nothing Phone 2 (waiting for mine to be delivered on Monday) has pretty much all the specs that I think most people would want in a phone, with the only big exceptions being a 1080p OLED display instead of 1440p and of course the cameras. I don't really care about the cameras though and 1080p is plenty for a 7" screen, so it looks great for me. Will try to remember to update later after getting it if you're curious about it.
@@Mathi0434As your daily driver? Hmm.. there's a couple of high end mid-range phones you could buy right now so I say no. But as a legacy phone that you want to experience or a backup phone then yes.
