Leonard Panergo Honestly the character models look more appealing compared to Oblivon in my opinion.
Bean Juice Idk, i personally dislike the geometrical faces of Morrowind, compared to Oblivion which had potato faces but had fast gameplay that it makes up for it, while conpared to Morrowind which had slow gameplay and encourages you to walk from location to location. "What was i supposed to look at while im traveling to Caldera? My character's geometrical face?" Idk, i just liked Oblivion better but then again it's just my opinion.
I think the look the developers were going for with the Khajiits in this game was to have them look like Lions. In Skyrim, they went for a more Lynx type of ascetic, and in Morrowind, the have more of a Jaguar/Panther look to them.
Same, but it was poorly implemented along with everything else. it just looked stretched and bloated. If they ever revisit that particular look again next game im sure it will work a lot better.

definitely more lynx like in skyrim, you can even add that lynx ear hair to your kahjiit, kahjiits can look like any big cat really or they can look more human like or even look like normal house cats but they can talk , and thats half of the variations that can take place
@@wonderkabuse Glad that in ESO you can make em look like any of the big cats (Lions, tigers, panthers, etc.)
I would like to point out that Orcs are not a "beast race" or Beast folk as they are also reffered to as. Orcs are Mer, e.g Goblins, Reiklings and High/ Wood/ Dark etc elves are also mer. Examples of Beast Folk are Argonians, Khajiit, Sload, Tang Mo etc.

According to their lore,orsimer are somehow elves in ancient times but they got cursed
@@sydachraf3129 The orcs used to be followers of Trinimac, who tried to stop the chimer (ancestors of dark elves) from trying to leave the summerset isles, but Daedric prince Boethiah confronted him and swallowed him, then spoke in his voice, led Trinimac's followers down the wrong path and after he was done with him, he quite literally shat the remains out. The remains would be twisted into monstrousity and would become Daedric prince Malakath, all of Trinimac's followers were twisted into orcs the moment Trinimac changed and fled the isles in shame.
You know they messed up Oblivion characters when even vanilla Morrowind faces look way better.

Really awesome video, man. I'm back to playing Oblivion again (my favorite PC game ever - Skyrim just can't beat it), and I remembered how this Oblivion Character Overhaul mod is needed. I've never crossed into a video making a comparison between the vanilla faces and this mod faces, tho. And you managed to do it pretty well.
You compared the character faces in two separated screens of video at the same time while making comments, and showed how to download/install the mod afterwards. Spot on, bro =D

The elves seem to have improved the most with this mod. Don't know how I feel about the beast races though
I cannot stand the vanilla khajiit personally. The argonian is more difficult for me to decide on
i think i would like the beast races a lot more if i hadnt seen what they look like in skyrim, because comparing how they look in skyim to how they look with the mod, it is very different. To me it seems that the texture is out of place and doesnt fit in.

Yeah... I know what you mean by potato-face'd. Oblivions faces haven't aged well over the years in comparison to Skyrim.

Oblivion faces didnt age at all as they were never indated. So many games back in 2006 (hell, even before 2006 such as the GameCube/ps2/Xbox era) had much better faces than oblivion.

Great mod, I just wish there was an option to apply this setting to every single other character in Oblivion except for The Adoring Fan, oh and my character too.
I could've sworn that there was an overhaul mod that replaced all the NPCs with these character faces. Maybe I'm mistaken, or the mod was abandoned? 🤔

I've had trouble trying to install these mods, I'll try this out and install the Oblivion mod manager too and hopefully it'll work!
You can now get OCOv2 Seamless Head Replacer which makes the the chins less pointy.
I m thinking of playing oblivion now after I saw this :)

Question. I'm not tech savvy and although I tinker well with things like Skyrim and Dragon Age Oblivion has outdated stuff and doesn't use NMM. How do I add to archive the way you did? When I double click the winRAR file unopened and untouched it says "replace readme.txt with blockhead.txt? I chose yes and it doesn't show up. I chose no and it doesn't do anything. any help?
IMO, Skyrim has by far the best looking beast- races.
I've been getting reports that Mod organizer and this mod don't play nicely. If you are having issue try it with NMM or OMM
i want to get back to Oblivion, and intent to mod(When i played it I was younger and didnt know about mods)
Any immersion, and gameplay overhaul must haves that you could reccomend? i intent to play a very modded but not too crazy oblivion.

I liked the skin texture of the vanilla Argonians and would have liked to see a more HD version of that particular texture as it mimics many real-world lizards in a way that I personally find appealing. The Skyrim-esque Argonian textures this mod adds look good but not like a tropical lizard. Then again, I love Argonians, so I suppose I notice these kinds of things. Anoles, for instance, resemble the Oblivion vanilla Argonians a bit, whereas the Skyrim ones seem more dinosaurlike or inspired by crocodiles. I love the different features the Argonians have in Oblivion and Morrowind as opposed to Skyrim, it makes them look really cool and unique, wish Skyrim had the fins and spikes of the previous games as well as the more tropical lizard style markings/scales.

EDIT: Never mind, I just had to reinstall the manager as Admin, and use the "Import" option instead of "Create". I would recommend people do this too, since using "Create" left out a ton of files in larger mods, and rendered mods such as this one completely broken.
I keep getting an error in the OMOD creation process for the overhaul itself. I've tried redownloading the archive from the Nexus many times, placing the archive in various places (desktop, Oblivion directory, etc), but OBMM refuses to let me create an OMOD out of it. Here's the error:

An unhandled exception occurred.

Any ideas for why this might be happening, or what I can do to fix it?
Loaded it all up and everyones face seems to be different colours to their bodies? Any ideas?
hehe its funny cause when this game came out it was amazing how they look now when I look back at it I just get freaked out how all the vanilla characters looked
does this mod also change the face of the Emperor? I am wondering what he looks like if this mod changes that.
Hey bud, I'm getting an issue where when I start a new game it crashes. However, when I loaded a save that I had before in the jail where we start a new game I was able to properly see the new character overhaul mod and there was no bugs at all. It's just when I start a new game. I'm only running Oblivion reloaded with the character overhaul. Odd, any reason why? I also installed with NMM.
they should've just use this kind of men and mer art on Skyrim vanilla, enhanced with more details of course. Especially the mer of Skyrim, they look too much of an alien that i can't make a good looking elven race, unless i want a scary bandit looking one.

I manually installed blockhead to the Data folder in Oblivion but I still get the textures telling me to install blockhead. I tried with OBMM as well and it does not work.
The light eyes for redguards are annoying. Any way to get darker eyes for them?

+Abyssal Hope Don't use NMM with Oblivion, it pretty much sucks. I personally use Oblivion Mod Manager. The Blockhead is easily installed if you have OBSE. Just move the .dll file to this folder:
D:\Steam games\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins
after the mod the orc looks like a count dracula in oblivion
I have a question about the body replacers. Do I need those? Did you download them? If you say body replacers are important, then why didn't you download them?

I like the vanilla faces, it makes them look like someone from medieval times. Not to mention, you can edit the fucking faces in game without mods.

I have a problem adding blockhead to my OMM. When i go to add archive and select the blockhead zip file it doesent do ANYTHING. I have also tried un-packing it and adding it like that but still nothing ;P

When I try to activate Character overhaul v2. It says ''this conflict with an already active mod. would you like to continue?'' You didn't get that message when you tried to activate it. What did I do wrong?
TheCommentGuy8 What other mods do you have? Likely a texture mod or body replacer. Find out what mod it is trying to overwrite before pressing yes

They all look like some weird missing link between the Oblivion and Skyrim designs... Except the Argonian, which is literally a scalie character.
Sry if someone already asked this, but I read that this mod only works at the english version of Oblivion. With any other language the NPC's are all mute. But why should the apperance of the people affect their voices? I haven't checked it out myself so I wanted to asked if someone knew something about that before I install this mod.

I can't get the blockhead thing to work. I'm following your direction to the last detail. What am I doing wrong? I guess my question is, do I need to be seeing blockhead in the esp list? When I get into the game my character has a blue face with the words "Download Blockhead" across their face.

I downloaded this mod, but it didn't work for the elves, orcs or khajiit and it didn't change the hair
I've tried to install this mod many times, i know OBSE is working because i have other mods that require it. I have Blockhead in my obse plugins folder and I've installed OCO with and without a mod manager obmm and nmm, and it will not work and yes i have arhcive invalidation on.

sorry, very noob question i'm sure bit i don't know what it means when the blockhead readme tells me to extract the archive. all i see is the blockhead.dill file. ive put that in the data folder but the faces still have the "install Blockhead" text in game. i just need to know where/what the archive is and where to put it. Please help!

I'm having some trouble with this mod. Every race except Argonians, Khajit and Nords have "Install Blockhead" written on their faces. I have looked for many solution but none seem to be working and have done them yet they don't seem to work.
I manually installed obse and made certain that the steam community was enabled.
I have installed Archive invalidation.
Blockhead.dll is in its correct folder Data > OBSE > plugins.
I have also made sure that oblivion character overhaul v2 is last in the load order.
Yet I am still having the "install blockhead problem. Does anyone know why this is? Does anyone have a fix?
Ah! Nevermind, I found a fix. I'll leave this link here in case someone has the same problem as me.

Scroll down until you see someone post a link to an obse loader. Download that and replace the one you have in your Oblivion directory. From now on you must launch Oblivion from the obse-loader, doing this fixes the problem I had with Blockhead and the Oblivion Character Overhaul.
Hope this helps anyone who experiences the same problem I did.

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I've tried installing it like you and it just doesn't work. As far as I know it doesn't clash with any of the other mods I have installed either. I've also tried unzipping the files first and just using the add folder option while trying to create the omod and that makes no difference. Do you think it would be because I've tried installing it before I found this video and did it wrong? I'd rather not play without this mod since I absolutely hate the look of the Orcs and elven races.

@@adamjae3370 Huh that's new, usually people prefer playing it themselves. When it's a game that I know I probably will never get around to play with I just watch somebody else play it, saves me money :) Like I'm just watching a playthrough of ghost of tsushima right now cause I don't really have a good pc at the moment. And when I do get one, I'll probably play another game that released at that time.

I clicked install on blockhead and when it said it finished I started the game and most of the faces in character creation said "install blockhead". Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Confirm that your OBSE is working correctly. If OBSE isn't working, Blockhead won't either. I once had the same issue and after checking I found that I'd missed a DLL when installing OBSE.

Can you use custom animation mods with this? The author advises that you don't use any mod that affects vanilla npcs. I'm new to modding Oblivion
I don't think so but i'm not 100% sure. I never used animation mods in the past so I never tried. I would recommend posting on the mod page or PMing the mod author. Sorry.
I tried it out anyway. The head looks perfectly fine, its just without clothes, the feet/hands textures of the Better Faces mod will work together with whatever body textures is being used. Thanks for the reply.
