- The, Hawaii Ironman 2011 World Championship triathlon race in Kona, Hawaii, brought about some of the toughest and strongest mentally focused athletes in the world to race over 140 miles distance in some some of the most outrageous terrain imaginable. We wanted to produce this short video clip to inspire people, period. The discipline and determination, mental focus, physical fitness and positive mental attitude that it takes to compete in a race like this, brings out many of the top qualities that human beings are capable of. And to us, that is worth sharing with the world. This year we wanted to focus on the biomechanics of the professionals in this race, and the "story" of the race. It was a great year, the men's world record was broken by Craig Alexander and Chrissie Wellington finished 20 minutes behind the first leader, after the bike, and still managed to run down all of her competition to come in first. Not all of us are cut out to be world class triathletes, but we sure can admire all of the qualities that it takes to get there. After watching this race, you will want to get your running shoes on, and we suggest that you do, after all your health is your wealth. We were fortunate enough to be allowed to use Peter Bergmann's remix of Hans Zimmer,Time, for the music, you can find this download at / wpahp

The name of the song is Hans Zimmer - Time (We Plants Are Happy Plants Remix) for all those who keep asking
My bro is a sub-2:55 marathon runner, and just picked up cycling, bought a $2000 road bike, and can't avg 15 mph on a flat course for a full hour. I kind of believed what you believed at one time, but after seeing him, now I know to give each sport it's true respect.
This video was better than the NBC production.
every swimming, every biking, every running... remember how many "likes" did you get here and go for you dream man!!! good luck!
Awesome, I got to be there and participate, watching this bought back some special memories. Thanks for sharing! I so wanna go back!
I have the biggest respect for triathletes! They are truly the hardest working athletes, I don't care what sport you perform in. Triathletes have it the toughest!
I really have to say that it is one of the best Triathlon-Videos i have ever seen :)
Wow thanks. That was the best highlights ive seen so far on youtube.
Awesome choice of music, and very inspiring and invigorating video! Thanks for sharing/ creating this! :)
I just want to go do my evening training session after watching this awesome retrospective! Anyone who's completed serious endurance events finds themselves in it.
you probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.

Thanks TriAddict! I went to youtube and did a search under "triathlon" - this was the first video I clicked on and was mesmerized from start to end. The combination of the music and video footage was very powerful indeed and exactly the inspiration I was looking for, well done!

The enormity of this event is just astonishing.
Thanks for the motivation for my first ride back in two months tomorrow. Going to crush some miles.
I love this song !! I use this song for motivation myself !!
It's that spiritually addictive music that does it combined with great shots.
The song is Hans ZImmer - Time ( we plants are happy plants remic )
start with a sprint race. It's like .5 mile swim, 13 mile bike and 3 mile run. Use your finishing time to gauge how fit you are. Train all year then do the sprint again the following season to give you comparing times. If you are building up good endurance move up to an Olympic race which is a 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run. Don't over due it and have fun. Lew Hollinder is an 81 year old Ironman.

In all honesty, being a 14 year old beginning triathlons, there is no greater dream then to compete in this C:
Dang awesome video
I was in this Ironman 2011 Kona! It was amazing and also tiring LOL I got to meet Craig Alexander and Chrissy Wellington and the other top 10 winners. I used to play this song on my pods while training and was so happy to hear it on this video! Andy Boecherer was a super fun person to hang out with! Loved it and will go back someday! 💕♥️❤️⭐️

This is a great video. Does anyone know the song used?
Wow time flies
RESPECT
Those guys are so impressive, honestly...
The song is the version of Time - inception by We plants are happy plants. The original version is made by Hans Zimer but this remix is awesome, sad i have not found it to download.
dude, check out Lance armstrong's page. He finished 4th in all of texas in the 1500m freestyle when he was 12. It's not like the guy never knew how to swim. He was on his way to becoming an elite swimmer before he found out about triathlons, which he did throughout his teens. He became an elite triathlete, then he decided to try cycling, which he did and then excelled at it.
Sono tutti miei idoli, dal primo all'ultimo!!
respect for all who finished ironman.
good luck and hopefully your dream will come true =]
Too cool.....
Feel so pumped aft watching it. Sadly my swimming is shit :(
Believe in what you are make you do beatiful things , Reward you for your Gratitude, Invention of true minded people just gave birth to that kind of event. Life it one day. If you forget it its because youve past away ... Ironman is a Postiveness Of the Mind and how far you can achieve this goal of sucess.

These are real athletes
@vinesen1 couldn't agree more!!! inspirational

That's right. The bike is anywhere from 4 and a half hours (for top cycling pros) to 6 hours. Remember, the distance is 112 miles (Roughly LA to San Diego). All 3 disciplines of a triathlon are very difficult in their own right.
What's the song called? And great video
What’s the brand of his white arm sleeves?
Magic
name of this song please...great vid I
thanks Bertolli...
does someone know the music??? shazam sais 100 different songs but not the right one ;)
Many ppl start with Triathlon in your age. You can always compete with yourself and there are plenty of distances you can begin with (short, sprint, olympic). Just have a look for Triathlon competitions close to your home.
All these peoples are heroes :,)
@HKallan in the description at the bottom. :)
LOL at the guy on the right at 1:09.
What's the name of the music in the video ?
This guys is Superhuman !!!
at this time last year i decided the same too, dropped 40 pounds since then, have another 30-35 ish to go. And am doing my half ironman this year, full next year. I hope to make it to Kona within this decade (am only 20 years old so i have plenty of time if i cant make it this decade)
Holy mental cases!!
8 hours. 1/3 of a day. 140 miles. Toughest athletic challenge. Ironman.
@Jimtri28 the description says: Hans Zimmer - Time (We Plants Are Happy Plants Remix). You can download it for free on soundcloud, just google it ;)

@R0FLCoptur It's in the description.
Look up track spikes for cross country, 5K and 10Ks. I used spikes during my cross country running career.
