@DerekMeyerOR. Terrific video! I was here for the first time last week…spent it on the trails and in town! Loved it!
Clean streets, excellent food, devote recyclers :) and welcoming people.
How is the weather Oct-April?
My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to Oregon and coming from California this sounds like paradise lol
I would have loved to live in California... In the 50's. :)
Moving from San Diego soon. Cant wait.
Go fucking home
Please just don't make the same mistakes you guys made in California
@@dirkdiedie sorry ur so miserable
Hey Derek
My partner and I are thinking of moving to Bend, and have also been considering Maui.
Curious what had you leave Hawaii?
Lovely that you mentioned the similarities in the community spirit 😊
Good day! I loved Hawaii. I just had the opportunity to take a great job (at the time) to move here.
My wife, two kids (2.5 yrs and 1 year old) are looking to move from Phoenix and Bend is on my list to check out. Also looking at Golden, CO. Thanks for the video, lots of good info.
Pick Bend!!! Have you came and visited? I do like Colorado. Lived in the springs after college for a few years. Reach out if you ever visit!
I have 2 friends from CA who recently moved to Colorado and they love it. Better ski resorts from what I hear. We have one very crowded and expensive one.

Great video, my man. Subscribed. Road to 1K!!
Thank you!
Currently living on Oahu and just browsing possible places to move from because of the high cost of living here and what can be bought for the relative prices compared to Hawaii, Bend looks like a good option. Good video!
Also wouldve loved to see even more videos of the landscape and places in Bend!
@@Kneyos I am on it! There is no shortage of spectacular areas to explore. I lived on Maui for two years and Bend definitely has similar vibes. Someone once told me its the volcanic rock. :)
@@DerekMeyerOR awesome! Keep up the great content and I heard you mention Maui and was like “ok this guy knows then” lol. Thanks again!
I lived in Bend, well Redmond, but worked in Bend and spent most of my time in Bend between 2012 and 2015. While there I was severely financially struggling and had to move, I'm a field now that when I graduate most jobs are remote and I was actually thinking about living back in Bend so that I can experience it with some financial freedom.
Come to the remote work capital of the world! With resources there is a ton to do. Connect with us if you ever decide to come back!
I’d love to see what would happen to Bend if remote work vanished
Pros: It’s beautiful and sunny
Cons: everything else
Bend 30 or 40 years ago was an awesome place to live. Now, not so much. Glad I got out when I had the opportunity 😁
For sure! Where do you live now?
NW Arizona
Can’t think of a better location!
@@randyinredmondCoincidentally I have the choice to live in Colorado and Arizona. Could you tell me how Arizona would be a better choice?
@@randyinredmond😂
Bend is much more expensive than Portland. I live in Portland now.
It definitely is!
@@Amy-ms6wj Ha exactly. So stupid.
Dr. Ellen Meyers at St. Charles is your wife?
Negative!
Portland is the only place where I thought the people were just as bad as NYC.
My family and I are looking to move from Oahu to Bend, OR. We’re kinda skeptical about the lack of diversity in Bend, but if it is welcoming, similar to the “Aloha Spirit”, then that’s right up our alley. 👍🏽
I do agree there is a lack of diversity. I lived on Maui for two years and moved to Bend directly. I would say there are some similarities to the spirit as people do come here for the lifestyle. There is definitely good energy here, but nothing beats the Aloha Spirit
Please don't use b-roll of NON-BEND things/places in your videos. Why? Go get footage or license real footage. Or just stop.
100% it's super annoying. This one wasn't half bad but so many of these RE agents boast epic outdoors stuff and show random stock footage from anywhere but Central Oregon.
How’s the homelessness and crime situation in Bend?
There is definitely both happening.
ehhhhhh
