- I meant to post this last week but got mixed up. I will take you around the downtown area and point out several different hotels, restaurants, theaters and little parks. We also walk through the morning Farmers Market.
Downtown has lots of tall commercial buildings mixed in with older historic places.
I hope you enjoy this walking tour of Knoxville, TN. Keep on Steppin' -H

My Story: I'm a filmmaker by trade. In 2016, we sold our house to go traveling for the year in Europe. Since I couldn't work there, I decided to start another TH-cam Channel. I love walking as a way to explore and this was an easy thing to share. It got popular and I've continued. My goal is to share these treadmill travel and virtual tours of cities videos to help make your work out fun with virtual walks to make the cardio go more quickly.

Knoxville is more than I expected. I love the mixture of the beautiful old historic buildings and new high-rises. And I also love the narrow tree lined streets which gives it that sense of enclosure and intimacy, and makes it very easy to walk around. Thanks for the tour.
Very well said. It definitely benefits from the trees downtown. And, the little pocket parks. Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it. - H.
Thanks for the tour. I cant get over how clean the downtown area was. Impressive.
Hi Scott, yes, it was quite clean. It got a little less attended to the further you got from the center. All in all, a very nice city. In my limited experience.
Such a vibrant tour of downtown Knoxville! I love exploring new cities through your videos. The mix of commercial buildings and historic sites is captivating. Keep up the amazing work! 👏🏼🚶♂️ #walkingtour #virtualwalk
Glad you enjoyed it! -H
Hey, I live in Knoxville😂 TH-cam is really recommending videos from my home town now
It seems like a fun place. I'd like to go back and give it more time and explore more. Thanks for watching. -H

No homeless around ,clean streets ...love it . Thanks for the video 👌👌👌
Actually they were around just on the edge of downtown. -H
Knoxville was my first childhood home. My first 11 years of life was spent on South Gay Street, where my father owned a tavern .Such cool memories of the 1960s are in Knoxville for me. Thanks for this video.
So glad the e stirred up some good memories. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
This video is the bomb! Wow! Really had so much fun watching it!
So glad to hear it. - H.
I love how pedestrian friendly this city is.
I, the downtown certainly is. Although when you get off the main, he’ll there, you start to get into some steeper slopes. Still, the infrastructure is there. Very beautiful downtown area and I had a great morning walking around exploring. Thanks for the comment. - H.
It's really great to see the many different businesses

I really enjoy seeing the great cities and scenery
I don't travel much anymore and it's so hot lately
and I'm in the Southern Oklahoma area down near
the Red River close to Texas where it has been 100
something degrees and seeing videos like this is
really great to watch, Thank You.🤠📹📱
@@rogertemple7193you are certainly welcome. I can’t imagine that many hot days. I’d wilt. -H
48 US States have counties. Louisiana has parishes. Alaska has neither - there's nothing between city government and state government.
I enjoyed this walk.
Glad you enjoyed it Paul, And thanks for that additional government info. I'm pretty good at the Federal stuff but the state and counties get me confused sometimes. Cheers. -H

Thanks for sharing this beautiful walk, it's a lovely city
You are always welcome AdEl. -H
Thank you for posting this! I live near Atlanta, but Knoxville has become my second home. Two wonderful families live there that I am blessed to be friends with. One of them, The Family Sowell, is an awesome bluegrass Christian singing family.
Wonderful to hear. Thanks for watching. -H
My wife and I visited Knoxville this past July. Really liked it and enjoyed the Sunsphere. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful that you got to see it too, Don. It’s a great little city isn’t it? Thanks so much for the comment. - H.
I love your channel! ❤ I'm walking to this video on my treadmill right now. You do a great job on your videos and I really look forward to them. They are a breath of fresh air. Please keep up the great work. God bless.
Awesome! Thank you for that. Makes my day. Keep on Steppin'.
Also, what kind of treadmill are you using if you don't mind me asking? -H
@@CityWalks no I definitely don't mind you asking....it's a Bowflex BXT6 I bought from Dick's Sporting Goods a few years ago. I love it. ❤️
Very nice walk .. big 👍 I like architecture
Thanks for liking -H
Very informative walking tour thank you for posting sir
My pleasure. Keep on Steppin’ -H
So enjoying this! Haven't been able to walk downtown Knoxville due to health. Thanks for doing this!
Hi Maureen. You are so welcome. It makes my day to hear these are helpful. -H
what brand of camera are you using ? I need to know the model and make
I’ve used many different cameras over the years, but this particular video was filmed on an iPhone 13 Pro with a DJI Osmo mobile five gimbal
The old city and Cruz Farms Ice Cream are not to be missed, but you missed them.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to include that next time I pass through. -H
What model camera are you using?
I think on this one I was using the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 but my go-to is currently and iPhone 13pro. I'm debating whether to update to the Pocket 3 or the iPhone 15pro. -H
Really look forward to your walks. Never disappoint. You show us places that many of us will never get to visit. Any plans on visiting Dallas? I know it must be tourist heavy but would love to see JFK assassination site etc. I have a great interest in the subject
Hey there, I'd love to get down to Texas some day. If only to explore and see friends. I'd of course film some walks. No plans in the immediate future. -H
I have to agree with you @dthels75
That first tall building is a bank and office building. Not a hotel.
Awesome. thanks for that. -H
"altercation"? Police involved? Gang? I've had enough of NYC. Not looking to relocate and get more of it.
Hi Barney. Not sure what exactly happened but it was too young guys harassing another young guy. I don’t really know about any gang activity in Knoxville though. - H.
It's not being exploitative to show homeless people. It's called honesty. You can always blur their faces.
I suppose so, but I don’t want to film people as subjects (as opposed to the general city) without their consent. They have enough problems as it is. - H.
@@CityWalks My comment was just to explain the demeanor and disposition of the people in a location says a lot about that place. If you're exclusively about architecture then I agree with you 100%.
@@barneyfyfe8313 Hi Barney, Thanks for the reply. The channel's not really focuse on architecture although I mention it a lot, and I don't mind mentioning or showing homeless people as casual passersby. You are right. It is an honest and open subject to discuss. I was just trying to clarify that I don't want to without their consent. Certainly, they are just as much a part of a city as the shoppers and other people that work and live there. I wouldn't focus on those folks as individuals either. Thanks for the feedback and thoughtful points. Always good for me to hear what people are thinking and things I could do differently or think more deeply about. Cheers. -H
@@CityWalks You're very welcome. One more thing. I realize the existence of the video is proof you were okay.... but I was concerned for your safety when you walked through that sketchy, yet colorful alley. Keep up the good work!
