If that is a stock OG keltec RDB it has a 17" barrel. (I have one) I think the newer RDB defender model has a 16" and the aluminum forearm. Yours looks like it has the OG plastic forend too. I think you have an older rdb or what they call the RDB 17 now. Doesent really matter but i figure i might point it out.
How do you like the RDB compared to other bullpups you've used? I know you had the Helion on the channel, have you used any others? I've been considering the Scy from Reap Weaponries as a future purchase.
Love that you brought out some of the classic Independence M193 as a benchmark! I still have a few mags of it (FC 14 stamps!) from back in the day and I recall your first video of it and how spoicy it was! Was my HD load of choice until I switched to 855A1 in the 2020's. Can't beat high speed low mass projectile with low drywall pen and defeats some NIJ L3 armor. Shame the modern IMI 5.56 isn't as spicy but glad to see the Olin LC 5.56 can hold a decent velocity!
Wcc 09 is the head stamp, it chronied out at like 2915ish out of a 16" barrel, I use the same upper to chrony my 556 loads and most factory loads hover around 3050-3100 for m193
Doesn't the suppressor on the 16" essentially change the barrel length? Suppressors usually cause a shift in velocity no? Probably a negligible difference. But still.....not a true 16" Chrono.
@@BuffRANGEActually, he is correct. M193 is NOT a NATO cartridge. The M193 was prior to the adoption of the 5.56mm cartridge by NATO. That M193 ammo is loaded in current production LC military cartridge cases designed for M855 ammunition which is NATO, this has the nato circle with cross hairs. The new M855A1 is loaded in the same cases but it is also NOT a NATO cartridge. As professionals, we should always strive to give out factual information and no commonly used misinformation. The only 5.56mm load available which is NATO is M855/SS109 with the 62gr FMJ with penetrator.
@@SmallArmsSolutions But the caliber/cartridge at which this is loaded is not .223 Remington, but rather 5.56x45mm, which is also shorthanded as 5.56 NATO, and is done so across the entire industry. If I asked you to tell me what caliber MK262 Mod 1 was, or M855A1, it would be incorrect to call it .223 Remington. I never once claimed in the video that M193 was adopted by NATO or their fielded round. Some STANAG documentation even refers to M193 as 5.56x45mm. Any clues on why they issued the warning?
What did you have to remove from the video?

Great to see Deacon getting some shots on camera.
I bought some ZSR Turkish stuff and it feels hot as hell. Way more than any other 556 I have.
I should review that at somepoint.
Ammo nerd is a good thing. Thank you, Matt.
You are most welcome !
I know I should have done this years ago but I shot some 12 years loaded mags, PMC bronze and PPu M193, no failures or issues.
PPU and PMC are solid ammo makers!
Wow, those are CONSISTENT. Especially the first two.
They are using a 24" barrel but ramshot has the max load at 3450-3485 with all their powders
Ramshot? What does ramshot have to do with this
No nonsense, good data 👍
Thanks!
Thank you for the info!

Yes my apologies! This has a 17.4" barrel. I used the Hellion long enough that I keep forgetting the RDB has a 17.4" barrel.

Thanks!
I don't care for .223/5.56, but I had to watch just to screw with YT.
WARNING: People might enjoy your video. 😎
Thanks!
Which version of the RDB are you using? This looks like the original RDB which has a 17.4 inch barrel.
Correct. Like a buffoon I keep calling it a 16" barrel when it's really 17.4"..
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!

I know you had the Helion on the channel, have you used any others?
I've been considering the Scy from Reap Weaponries as a future purchase.
The Hellion is obviously a better constructed rifle. Trigger is better on the RDB though. Both disassemble fairly easy.
The Hellion is an actual military rifle built for combat use.
The RDB is a Kel Tec.

is that a second crimp mark on the bullet?
That's my collet crimp. Sometimes I tighten it TOO tight, and depending on lead density and jacket thickness the collet distorts it :D

Yeah the great 2017 dial back neutered the IMI M193 a little. I need to get more Indy M193 for continued armor tests.
I've got some of the Winchester white box qa101 m193 or whatever and it's actually slower than my last batch of lake city M855 🤷♂️

Well I also goofed and it has a 17.4" barrel because I forget that it does, and suppressors can add 25-30 fps.
Suppressors add like 20fps. They’re not rifled so it’s not like the bullet is going through a longer barrel.
What about Brazilian m193, heard that's pretty hot

M193 is not 5.56 NATO. NATO never adopted the M193. The only cartridge called 5.56 NATO is the M855 aka SS109.
Nevermind the fact that the shorthand of "5.56MM" is right on the box which is also commonly known as "5.56x45mm" or 5.56 NATO". :)
