Request: Can you talk about setting up specific shots. For example, you will be more successful lobbing if you first move your opponent to a spot where you can easily send the ball over their backhand shoulder, like dink to left and lob over their left shoulder (assuming righty). How to setup an Erne? How to setup speedups? How to pick your speedup target (left/right shoulder and hip) based on opponent’s grip (continental vs eastern)? Essentially, what are some patterns we can implement to setup shots that will put pressure on our opponents so we can win more points.
Great details on this video. Question: did you demonstrate the continental grip here or something a degree further over between 2nd and 3rd bevel? If so, can you explain why you want it closer to the eastern forehand grip. I’ve always understood continental with forefinger knuckle on the 2nd bevel. I’m open to your method, just would love to know more about your reasoning. Also, would love a detailed video on when and how to lob. When is a good time and the best placement for lob. Also, lob retrieval , how to best track the ball, and which partner is suppose to cover the lob retrieval depending where it lands on the court.
Noted! Yea this is directly in between continental and eastern forehand. This is the perfect grip to favor a topspin backhand (majority of pickleball backhands) and a topspin forehead (majority of pickleball forehands). If you do continental it favors underspin on both the backhand and forehand. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense!
Future video idea….how, where, when to hit a third shot drive vs drop. Seems like I drive the ball into the net a lot on a third shot and when it goes over, the opponents hits a winning shot. But I keep hearing that this shot is getting used more. Any info would be appreciated
Love the drills app! I had low expectations for the wall drills, because I’ve only seen pretty boring wall drills before, but these drills are good and challenging, both mentally and physically.
I installed and virtually everything i looked at required the pro version. Assuming that is not free to download, so quick uninstall for me on this app!
Can you cover how to hit shots above the shoulder while at the kitchen. Specifically the balls which will stay in which are above the shoulder. I Players have a tendency to hit them flat and they sail out of bounds, or get smashed into the net.
the best 10 strategies every player should know there is not a lot of content for strategies when you are left handed or play with left handed player how to teach kids to play how to read the other teams weakness and adjust to win how to communicate with your partner (it should be a standard way so any player can understand like red , green, orange) how to topspin with backhand for drives and dinks Thanks for all your videos , they are very helpful
when practicing, I can reset from the kitchen line but in a game, I usually just counter when a reset would be better. How do you aproach this problem?
First of all it comes down to the height of the ball. If your opponent is hitting down then you should reset. If your opponent is hitting straight (horizontal) or up you should counter (majority of the time). You can always change it up. The second thing it comes down to is drilling that shot over and over so it becomes second nature to know to reset low balls and counter higher ones. Hope that helps! -Austin
Which drill, in the Titan machine, were you using to practice the resets in the video and where did you place the machine on the other side of the court when you recorded this video?

Yes, I have some trouble with resetting fast hits, are you adding a bit of slice?
Yes. A bit under the ball. Does that make sense?

How to hit topspin & keep it in on a drive.
Noted. Thank you
So in short, use the continental grip?
I use eastern 👍
@@pickleballplaybook oh, but is continental also suitable for these shots? Since its used for 90% of the shots
Yes 100%. That’s how I started was with continental, then eastern was better for my forehand.
app for Android possible?
Yes right here 👇

@@pickleballplaybook Thx! Off to the court, so much for cleaning the garage. "sorry babe"
🤣🤣🤣
some players will have their index finger touching their middle finger instead of having a space. this has its advantages and disadvantages.
Indeed. Great backhand and bad forehand if you have you’re index knuckle close
