I also notice this tendency towards recs/reactions instead of reviews especially in short form content but I feel like the book award side of booktube still does book review videos.
Yea I agree w/ this a lot - shorts / tik tok has made ppl brain rot & not just phrases but also w/ attention spans . So sometimes ppl don’t even READ the recommended books , but want to . They litterally can’t tho bc they want onto the next onto the next Ahh stuff (Also not saying I ain’t a victim of this sometimes lmao , I ain’t no saint)
Yes!! I like TBRs as a way to find new books, but at least when I'm making recommendation posts, I want to do a mix of things I've already read and liked, plus any books I want to read that I think I'll enjoy, so I have some background on the books to talk about.
I prefer whatch reviews after reading the books actually... to see what the person is talking about, what they think of the storie than to know a new book...
