Wow, when Egypt and Mike explained the "Manish" part, she hit the nail on the head. I found myself being masculine because I didn't feel safe. I always felt that way but never could put that into words. She and Mike explained it perfectly, so thank you for that truth that so many couples experience. #thatpart
Yes every action stems from something... an emotion. If we can learn to articulate the emotion versus acting it out, we can communicate our needs better and in a way that can be reciprocated.
I’ve been stressing about being homeless since I was 4 years old. I get it. I did become homeless in my youth. Today, I’m going to retire with a warm and safe place to lay my head and a meal in my tummy.
Just subbed. Didn’t know they had a podcast. I think a great unspoken takeaway from this….you first have to have a good foundation in a relationship. Dr Contessa and Dr Scott were very compatible. My husband and I both come from previous marriages. We were living the ideal life just a few days ago and I got some really bad news. Because we have a good foundation, I’m surprisingly not devastated. I actually said today, “When we get through this it will be a testimony”. I think in our community many couples come from dysfunction and bring that into a marriage. And one thing that’s certain is challenges, crisis will come. If you’re already on shaky ground (marrying someone whom you’re not equally yoked or not compatible) it will be almost impossible to stand.
Wow! I'm really enjoying these. Love you two! I've followed Egypt since (for me) her early days on HGTV. So glad Mike had the idea. Blessings on both for keeping God and true-to-life decisions in the conversations.
That happened to me also. Citibank was waiting for me freshman year in the student union and I had no money or clue about money management because my parents didn’t talk to me about money . I didn’t get on track until my late 20s and fast forward many years, my credit score is excellent and I have been able to show my daughter the road to money management and 2 years after college, her score is fantastic. I just love your show and the topics you bring to surface.
I'm not really a fan of podcasts, but I'm hooked! Glad I stumbled upon this. Your genuineness and transparency with your guests and audience, as well as the guests transparency, has destined this to be a success. PLUS, I love everything that you guys do. Good people. ❤
I am loving this podcast I was married to my husband 18 years got divorced for 7 and remarried him again now we have been married since 2011 I agree with most of what you are saying I like and love my husband now more than ever we pretty much grew up together and learned a lot about each other
Dr Contessa is a great communicator I love that she worked at her marriage and loves her husband. Egypt & Mike are so wonderful love watching them keep God in the center 👏🏼🥰👏🏼🙏🏼
Keep this up please! I loved the one to go on and grow on tips at the end. I wholeheartedly agree with both of you. This podcast gives me that warm cozy feeling you have when you’re in a spiritually sound environment. ❤
This is a great wonderful show that young singles should listen to to learn how to become husbands and wives. It really prepares you for a relationship and not blindly enter a marriage and learn from the school of hard knocks.
I LOVE THIS PODCAST… I am Relationship Coach and I am always searching for content, resources, and other materials that are thought provoking. It has also helped me understand and find some new tools for my own marriage! Thank you!!!
Hello Mike & Egypt: You guys are so down to earth and keep it real and in perspective, most definitely your the (Power Couple)❤💯, Luv your podcast, Good Luck, Luv this Session with the Doctor’s ( Black Love)❤
I always loved them! Thank you for being so transparent. I love to see our beautiful black queens not only mothers, but successful, brilliant, courageous, and willing to not assist with bringing their kings to the top with them. Teamwork makes the dream work. Keep doing phenomenal things. Much love and respect ❤❤
Love the transparency in this episode. I am the overly communicative, and my husband internalize. This helped me see how my childhood affects how I am in my marriage. Thank you!!
This one made me smile the whole time! Thank Scott and Contessa. I used to watch the show. I stopped watching for my own personal reasons! I appreciate your honesty and growth! Keeps shining. Mike and Egypt we adore you!
OMG...This was Extraordinary!! I sent it to my husband, friends, clients, children. There is soo much in here for everybody. Especially if we choose to do the hard work, after acknowledging the fact that there is indeed a problem...Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this information. Transparency is important for financial stability in marriage. Secondly, the humbleness from this successful couple is important. They could have hidden their financial information.
Dr. Scott that was beautiful. Go get your wife. Don't ever let her get away.. That's right she is a queen and your her king. I love you two ❤️ All four of you are awesome ❤️
This is great! It goes to show if you are willing do the work to be a better you as an individual and couple with the understanding that holding yourself accountable via the lens of transparency built on a strong foundation of faith will grow that union. When you two agree that ignorance within your marriage is not an option, marriages can grow. I will be subscribing to this channel.👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏
This episode resonates with me. Being married 23 years. Counseloring was very important to us before we got married. Also couples marriage retreats helps as well. I look forward to more episodes. My Take away on finances . We are stronger when our strategy of savings are together.
I agree w/Contessa on a lot of things, especially money. Most of my friends know if you ask me for money and I don't see you that day to return it, I will be calling you the next day. So, when I've given money, they call me immediately if they can't pay it back. And when they find out I move that way, they always stop asking.
Hello. This was a very good episode. Enjoyed your guest. Young people should be listening to this because nowadays people don’t put in the work to try and stay together, they get mad, and want to break up at the least little thing. Another words, they don’t want to listen or communicate with one another to try and solve the issues. 🥰🥰🥰
My husband and I both had bad credit for the same reasons. Well my husband first started building his back better and placed me on his and now mine is almost Better then his. We aren’t really taught about credit like that.
I'm really enjoying your podcasts. Dr Contessa is my girl, I think I'm more like her when it comes to life and money. Thank you, we are learning all the time 🎉🎉🎉❤
Dr Contessa is the total package brains beauty and financially responsible. My kinda role model 💯🖐
Wow, when Egypt and Mike explained the "Manish" part, she hit the nail on the head. I found myself being masculine because I didn't feel safe. I always felt that way but never could put that into words. She and Mike explained it perfectly, so thank you for that truth that so many couples experience. #thatpart
I agree. Wish I had understood that earlier in my life.
Yes every action stems from something... an emotion. If we can learn to articulate the emotion versus acting it out, we can communicate our needs better and in a way that can be reciprocated.
Egypt and Mike, this podcast is so rich and important to family. Keep up the great work.
Thanks a mil!
I'm so happy that Contessa and Scott went to counseling and is working things out in their marriage.
Yes the big "T" has proven to work.
❤ The Metcalfes I’m so glad that they did the work on rebuilding their marriage. I ❤ the show. The hosts are so transparent
I’ve been stressing about being homeless since I was 4 years old. I get it. I did become homeless in my youth. Today, I’m going to retire with a warm and safe place to lay my head and a meal in my tummy.

So Contessa speaks so much better here than she did or what was shown on married to medicine.
Married to Medicine has done this couple an injustice. They are engaging and I have truly enjoyed this segment. ❤
Yes on reality tv you only get a snapshot.

That seems to be the strategy working for many of the couples.
