Another musical to start chugging away at! Be More Chill is neck and neck with Heathers at being my current favorite musical. Heathers videos will also be coming eventually, I’m just not sure when (I’ve already changed the casting set three times, so we will see how long it sticks)
So, this is one of the last scenes of the play, so if you don’t know anything about Be More Chill, then this is likely very confusing. The quick synopsis is that Jeremy has been given a squip (a supercomputer-like drug) by Rich, in order to feel “in control” and “chill.” Although it initially works in their favor, surprise surprise, the squip is actually evil and Jeremy, Rich, Micheal (Jeremy’s best friend), Christine (Jeremy’s crush), etc. have to find a way to fight against it. This scene takes place after the squip has been neutralized, and Jeremy and Rich are in the hospital recovering from the squip’s side effects.
In this case, Rainbow is a trans guy. The Be More Chill fandom headcanon’s Jeremy to being a trans guy, and the MLP fandom sometimes headcanon’s Rainbow to being a trans guy sometimes too. (I don’t know if it is canon that Rainbow Dash is lesbian from being together with Applejack in the end, but if that is the case, then that is valid!)
Besides that headcanon, I chose Rainbow Dash to represent Jeremy because they both have a want to be “cool”/chill, and they both deal with anxiety that they try to repress by being “cool” or “chill.”
Soarin being Rich was not my intention, because I don’t intend to use Rich in any of the future BMC videos. However, the clips for this scene just worked out, and besides, I do like both Rich and Soarin as characters (especially Soarin, he is so underrated!)
I didn’t include Micheal because I’m currently unsure as to who to represent him as. Initially, it was going to be Pinkie Pie (and maybe I’ll still choose her), but I’m honestly thinking I’ll either choose Twilight or Applejack instead.
Bow was a last minute inclusion in the video. You know me, I love me some complicated yet loving father and son relationships. However, like Soarin/Rich, Bow/Jeremey’s Dad won’t be making a reappearance within future BMC videos.
This audio was originally accompanied with a Darius and Hunter video, but the video looked terrible, so I scrapped it. Unfortunately, I don’t know when more Darius and Hunter videos will be coming out. I have been trying to make videos with them, but everytime I do, the videos do not look good, which is unfortunate because I still love them, and I know that you guys like to see them in videos too. I’m just going to have to get really creative if I want to keep making videos with them, but that’s a good thing!
