Nice recovery. Be warned though that these batteries, especially older ones, can have a good amount of mercury in them so treat your waste as though it is contaminated with mercury.

When working with batteries you shouldn’t trust your eyes to chance with JUST safety glasses use them in conjunction with a full face shield.

so you can use a diluted sulfuric acid mixture to melt all the zinc and be left with only silver make sure the solution is cold let it sit and keep adding diluted mixture until fully dissolved may take up to 3 cleanings then being added back to a solution before you are left with just silver which hardly reacts to diluted sulfuric acid also diluted sulfuric acid is anything below 29% so make sure to have over 71% distilled water in the mixture.

This is a Ni-Cd battery and does not contain silver.
