You need to run more than 4 recovery. You are putting your self at a disadvantage in every gun fight. You can not rechallenge fast enough. Plus more recovery will lower the cooldown on your class ability as a warlock. Also you do not have a single shotgun in your inventory. I heard you say you do not like shotguns. I understand that, but you need one for games like this. If your opponent knows you do not have one equipped they are going to find a way to exploit that. A sidearm is not the solution. The whole "blueberry" topic is just kind of disrespectful to your team mate. He was the only player in the team being proactive rather than reactive. You and your team mate were just crouching in spawn and giving advantage to the other team. There were a couple times where you totally ditched the "blueberry" just to run to your teammate and leave him behind. Interesting video though! Thanks for sharing.
Good breakdown. Warlock should always run 10 recov. And good players will always play for map control at the start. I find it so frustrating as a solo player when the duo sits back and lets the other team claim map control. Ideally you want to be involved in all gunfights putting damage on the other team with your teammates.
@@Absntlight I’m not gonna say that what you’re saying is false, but as a Warlock that runs sub 50 Recov (Trying to fix that), and has been running double primary exclusively for like almost 3-4 years now, ESPECIALLY with a sidearm, a lot of what you’re saying is… subjective. I’m not claiming to be Wallah or some other PvP sweat, I’ve top fragged and bottom fragged my fair share over the course of my D2 career, but I think the biggest, BIGGEST way to success is movement and awareness.
@@xAbsynthex How do you run less then 50 recovery? I couldnt do it lol. Yeah i agree with that 100% about movement and awareness though. In my opinion 10 recovery is a must have for warlock. It just offers too many benefits. Can i ask what double primaries you use? I usually run something that handles medium to far range for my primary and a shotgun. I'd take a deadlock any day over a sidearm. But that's just me.
@ well I’m still trying to figure out how to focus armor PROPERLY so I can have good Recov, but for the most part this whole time I’ve been aiming for 100 Resil/100 Disc/ 70-100 Strength because I’m a dedicated SNAP SKATER but I also realized that I barely even use my melee because I’m always snap skating instead lmao. As for loadout, it’s usually almost always Scout/Pulse and Sidearm/SMG. Maybe even a 180 handcannon if I’m feeling particularly spicy (Trust, my beloved). If I know someone has a shotgun and they’re VERY OBVIOUSLY W-keying towards me with no care in the world, I’ll snap to gain space and burst them down. Once you’ve been playing this loadout for a while you get a general sense of predictability on what some players are gonna do
@@xAbsynthex 100 Disc for what? grenades aren't that good. You should prioritize your recovery above discipline. As i said before with more recovery you can get in more gunfights. Your gun i was more reliable than any grenade.
-I will say definitely one of the biggest mistakes you made is saying "forget the blueberry" I play solo mostly sometimes with my friend but if there is a random(s) on my team I try to play with them not against them and try to stick with them throughout the match. -You played very passively while the enemy played aggressively, you being passive tells me if I was the enemy that you are not confident in yourself. Now being constantly aggressive is not the way you go unless you are a top 0.1% player and know the map. But being able to play passive aggresive is a big key that has helped me substantially. -Also id say your loadout was not the greatest. They have a mid to close range loadout while you have a long to close range loadout. -Also using getaway artist in pvp in a bad choice in my opinion its more a pve exotic. Id recommend tranversive steps or ophidian aspect to either boost your weapon handling or movement speed. -I also heard you say you didnt like shotguns but the only counter to a shotgun is a shotgun, swapping to one wouldve made them think twice about pushing you and you couldve used their second guessing towards your advantage and have more map control. -since they were dominating it best to dig a "trench" in an area and wait to make a play like their warlock did in the video. I rather get a win with only 7 kills instead of a lose with 13. Pushing isnt always the greatest idea unless you have the advantage on them such as them being low on health or being down a player or knowing their location to make a play. This puts pressure on them and they are more likely to make a mistake unless they are a top player. -This team looked average at best, im not trying to put you down about your skill level just like you said, you made mistakes as we all do. But that is some things I got from watching the video and seeing you for the first time. Id go more into detail on certain point here but this yt comment is long enough already. I love to see that you are trying to self analyze your gameplay and improve yourself and help others, many rather sit and whine instead of learn, I respect it very much.
I agree mostly. He’s way too passive. You need to be using your radar and checking angles. Think about where they might come from and don’t over expose yourself when peeking and pre aim. You should be rotating more you basically go to the same spots and the same things play out every time. How you peek matters see cool guy or top player guides about slicing the pie. You over expose and don’t have a plan for getting back to cover. The only thing I disagree on is fusions and positioning can be a counter to shotguns. Even top players are using fusions in this meta. They’re just too easy. Faster play makes for better content but look at plays like buincy he has patience and movement it’s not always as exciting but he’s very successful. You gotta slide and move quick. You can’t always depend on the team shot so slide in and out of cover. It doesn’t have to be a hand cannon u can use weapons like Elsie’s or 2 bursts. Keep trying but you have a lot more adjustments to make than even in this video. Play up to the fight and work on your shots will bring you more success than how you’re playing now.
Yeah man, great advice...I know what I'm fairly passive esp in a non Elim game type (this was Clash). I have used Transversive as well and maybe that could be a fix for the strafe speed I need when 1 v 1 ing. That way I can build for more Recovery. I'm gonna try that, thanks for reminding me about it. I like the swap to a shotgun comment too...that would send a message. Thanks for the input my dude
Great advice man, I used to use fusions all the time but when they nerfed my rapid fires, I switched to sidearms since they buffed those recently. I do have to work on being more aggressive, but I know my teammate is passive also, so I worry that I will just feed them. It's a fine line that I like to call controlled aggression, but yeah, looking back I was way too passive.
Winning 2v1s is almost always possible. As others have commented it’s in your build. If you want to consistently snowball kills on warlock you NEED to run devour. A class item with spirit of filaments and whatever else you like (prismatic) or if you want to play around with it the secant filaments. Proactive devour on demand is obscenely underrated. As others have stated 9 or 10 recovery. Minimum of 6 resilience although I find my sweet spot is 8. Yes. I hate shotguns too. Irritating to play against. Corner camper shot gunners get a duskfield or a cold snap. You have to force them to move. Arc grenades they’ll tank (or wormhusk/heal grenade). Freezing them turns the tables. Cryostesia is also good to do this. Anyway good luck. I’m no god tier player but I usually do okay. Hope this helps.

As an older player (58yo) I mostly played solo because of poor internet. I recently got better internet and decided to try out crucible. My son gave me the best piece of advice before hand: he said be prepared to die. A LOT! Accept that and don’t let it frustrate you. The people your matched against will be teams/ clans who do nothing but PVP. So I tend to play super aggressively. “if she dies, she dies”. YES, I die a lot, but I also pull some great plays here and there, and bottom line: I have a BALL doing it
Older gamer as well...I know my weakness in Crucible and try to take advantage of what I do well which is gun accuracy...years of playing the Battlefield franchise has led me to the fact that you will die...a lot! lol
almost 60 in pvp is pretty uncommon for the reason that the older we get the more we loose reflex, but if you play alot most of the time knowledge and experience > accuracy and reflex. the more you play the more you can predict the behaviour of players and when you already have an idea what they gonna do it's easier to keep shooting at them!
My dad did 27 kills yesterday in Iron Banner. The most he ever did. He is 52. He plays almost every day for an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less. But he gets better. With his shotgun + Red Dead combo, which works surprisingly good.
Thanks man, I review my gameplay often...I started out in Destiny 1 Crucible as a .5 kd and have slowly improved my gameplay over the years...I love the Crucible but like golf and bowling, it can humble you sometimes. Thanks for the reply my dude
You are way to passive, flanking is good because it removes some pressure off the other 2 playes, but not committing to your fights isn't a help. Jade rabbit is waaay to long range for this map, it only works if the other team is using range also.
I've heard others say the same thing...that first flank, I should've kept on pushing. When I watched it back the first time, I told myself the same thing. When you encounter a good fireteam, I tend to play more passive out of respect for their close range play. I should've changed my loadout earlier too...agree. Thanks for your feedback.
I'm an old gamer too i'm almost 51, my stats are very average but last seasons my stats are way better i'm a very agressive player. i have 367h Playtime 2,781 Matches in crucible i did 3 flawless as solo and got unbroken title from comp the two last season my kda is near 2 but not in trial because i solo only and thats the worst thing to do if you care about your kd.. i dont camp i hate that, i push and i'm willing to duel 2v1 just because i hate slow pace pvp. from what i see in this video you are static, you are an easy target when you dont move fast and stand still at the same spot for too long. dont let your enemies feel comfortable if they have to look the radar often then they will do mistake if you wanna flank do this quickly and there's a time to engage in a flank, dont engage if you dont hear your teammate shooting because it will end with all of the enemy team focus on you.. mobility is crucial you guys dont move alot. dont go in the middle of empty space to duel, you need a emergency disengage option, use map and objects as shield. i hate shotgun too but learn how to counter them, dont get bait, if they are waiting on a corner, they want you to come to shotgun you.. dont do that or fake that you do it and back fast or use ability to shield yourself like me on hunter i use dodge backward with Threaded Specter. that way they waste their shot on my clone. every time you engage a duel be prepare to leave the second it not in your favour, especially in comp or trial, not dying is more important than make a kill.. adapt your loadout and gameplay with the reality you got, if you have a loadout for long range or mid range and they rush you like they usually do in trial then you need a loadout against close range. adapt is a very important aspect of pvp i hate to say it but meta is VERY important in pvp, if you play with bad pvp weapons and perks it will make your life harder. i could go on for very long like this but i dont think you will read it if you wanna practice in private match and get some advice you can add me ZlPPENHAFT#1272 (the "i" is a L in lowecase) you can also see some of my gameplay on tiktok and youtube but they are mostly on tiktok not a tons but enough to show my playstyle
Yeah, you are a different player than I and more power to you being aggressive as an older gamer. I need to start using handcannons more often as well...I like to peek and shoot from cover and handcannons are perfect for that. Yeah, shotgun baiting...enough said. I like to try all the great weapons in the Crucible and why I don't always play Meta, and it shows how ill prepared I am against those who do. Great advice, thanks my dude
@@ToddtheGatr i would like to play with hand cannon but since few years i began to have motion sickness with some games, blur and camera shaking makes me feel dizzy (i dont know why) but anyway because of this i can't play with hand cannon anymore because for some reason bungie added camera shaking on top of recoil (which block too much vision imo) i usually play with sidearm + pulse or scout (93k kills and almost 10k with the traveler's choosen in pvp). Hand cannon are meta but for my play style (aggressive) sidearm is very good too if not meta. you just need to adjust your playstyle with your loadout.
Others have said some things that are true. Eg like sitting in the back of spawn, thats a death sentence. Not wanting to run any special weapons? Yeah sure but you also gotta know how to counter specials.Knowing when to disengage from a gun fight will save your ass from dying too if youre 3/4 on health. Peek shot or just wait till youre full.stats do make a difference but if youre not running optimal loadouts/stats you gotta back that up with logical plays. Like not staying in spawn, it goes for objective plays as well. Alot of players think if they sit in the back theyd see the opponents coming,it also means they know where your ass is hiding.nontheless to be a better player you have to learn from your mistakes. Take what you want from that. Nice video
I appreciate the input...it was Clash. Yeah, I hate having to find special and the changes they've made to acquiring it today is such a pain...I never want to run out of ammo, but yes, I am hard headed about countering specials, good point. If we were playing Elimination, I would be rushing in like in Trials of Osiris, but it was the type of game where once they had the score lead, they would sit back, which is smart making us have to be more aggressive.

I will say there are ways to expolit enemy teams that bunch up too much, ie cloudstrike. but good job oh this is console. lmao pc is worse. i play mnk and good luck to me if i play controller players. my kd is still in the top 2 percent
I tried that sidearm and I really didn't like it. I would go for ace of spades or rose I hate shotguns but you need sometimes it especially when you getting out run by enemy. Resilience and recovery must be 100 no doubt
I have 100 Resilience covered but I also like my straffe speed with at least some mobility stat...it usually means I have to sacrifice some Recovery and on a Warlock, it hurts. Thanks for the reply
I know that those b roll clips only show highlight encounter. I believe any one who is a positive KD player can edit 15 minutes of kill chains and dope plays.

The radar on destiny is too powerful of a tool and doesn't allow flanking like a normal game. They need to tone it down to 30m for max pickup of other players and they game would get more interesting. Or go back to no radar comp like we had in season 3

I’ve been saying for YEARS that handcannon aim assist needs to be cut in half across the board. Most of them have 80-90aa. High AA+high burst dmg+ low zoom which means you can aim at the chest from longer ranges and get yellow numbers.
I don't know why I don't get on the handcannon train as they have so much aim assist and the cone angles are generous as well. I'm old and hardheaded, so games like this happen sometimes. Thanks for the reply my dude

mobility is crucial you guys dont move alot.
dont go in the middle of empty space to duel, you need a emergency disengage option, use map and objects as shield.
i hate shotgun too but learn how to counter them, dont get bait, if they are waiting on a corner, they want you to come to shotgun you.. dont do that or fake that you do it and back fast or use ability to shield yourself like me on hunter i use dodge backward with Threaded Specter. that way they waste their shot on my clone.
every time you engage a duel be prepare to leave the second it not in your favour, especially in comp or trial, not dying is more important than make a kill..
adapt your loadout and gameplay with the reality you got, if you have a loadout for long range or mid range and they rush you like they usually do in trial then you need a loadout against close range. adapt is a very important aspect of pvp
i hate to say it but meta is VERY important in pvp, if you play with bad pvp weapons and perks it will make your life harder.
i could go on for very long like this but i dont think you will read it
if you wanna practice in private match and get some advice you can add me ZlPPENHAFT#1272 (the "i" is a L in lowecase)
you can also see some of my gameplay on tiktok and youtube but they are mostly on tiktok not a tons but enough to show my playstyle
Shotguns / Fusions will always be meta in this game. Try and practice with those weapons.
Are you the same guys I listen to daily on Spotify??? If so Ty for your content 😊 if it’s not you Ty for YOUR content brother
Guardian down I think is the name
Yes, I'm the main host of Guardian Down Cast, we do a live show every Friday night at 10pm est and audio podcast for over 5 years now. Thanks for listening.
@ I’m a boston union bridge painter and loooove listening at work . Gotten me through many looooong cold 12 hour shifts !!!
@ I knew as soon as I heard your voice and saw Gator !!!!!!
damn homie solid breakdown, i have some tips but im a little too tipsy to type them out. I will say there are ways to expolit enemy teams that bunch up too much, ie cloudstrike. but good job oh this is console. lmao pc is worse. i play mnk and good luck to me if i play controller players. my kd is still in the top 2 percent
I also play standard PS5 controller on PC lobbies too...the lesson I learned is m&k shotguns hurt.
talk about how once you hit ascendant its near impossible to solo queue unless you wanna hard carry every game
I managed ok in the first week. I think I was about a 1.8 KD with about 800 kills. I'll take it. I won't be playing the Tribute version though.
Definitely want to punish people who expose themselves.
Guy at 2:57 was hacking. Not a shatter skate
I always wonder sometimes and am not adept enough to pick up on it. It's too bad that it is in the game. Thanks for letting me know about it.
Actually at 2:52
that’s not a cheater 💀
@inheritress4791 are you blind? Ive been playing this game for years, look at his movement in that instant. No momentum carried when he shot him after landing
@@inheritress4791 people moving that fast around a corner instead of just shooting straight because of momentum are definitely hacking.
We all do
Tod if u want some guidance Im a 10 times top 100 trials player Id be down to run with you just message me
Thanks my dude
I mean thought this will happen but when u get really good at this game is when u loose all hope. Any top 1% player will tell u this game is a joke just fun when u have the right team or the wrong team and right enemies if u get what im saying.
The radar on destiny is too powerful of a tool and doesn't allow flanking like a normal game. They need to tone it down to 30m for max pickup of other players and they game would get more interesting. Or go back to no radar comp like we had in season 3
I’m a x top 500 elo player and a 1.8-2.0kd in trials, mainly playing 3v3 game modes. I have a background in competitive gaming and was top 50 in the finals s2 and high ranked in other competitive shooters. (If you like id love to run through some tips with you and we could even do a collab vid if you like, I have a youtube channel that is all about teaching new builds/ behemoths)
@@Vitamac the comp match against Thrower wasnt fun too watch 🤣
I'm 1.5 kd but I'm too lazy play comp in destiny it's too much latency and ping to be competitive
You’re the guy that bullied Cammy with ice spam right?? I didn’t realize you had a channel! I’ll check you out and throw you a sub too! Behemoth is really strong right now
Didn’t you rage at me in DM’s and spam report my username in an effort to get it taken away? Or was it another Gator guy
I don't dm anyone as I have it all turned off...there are lots of gators out there my dude
@@jaysmoth6314 blah blah blah, keep using your two burst pulses you dad.
Yeah they say all this but then put one on and proceed to miss every shot get stomped on and switch back to the dad rifle to then continue on complaining.
@@nodoxnoswat4416blah blah blah, keep crying about pulses because you can't close the distance with your shotty.😂😂
@@nodoxnoswat4416 probably a 1.4 trials kd speaking right now lol
