I gotta disagree with the call for bns withering gaze, it just seems too clunky with weapon swaps and having to wait for the weaken, im personally aiming for wg+frenzy for gms, and an arsenal bns one for team dps
100% agree with you. In GMs a stun only lasts 5 seconds. If I have to rotate through all weapons and then wait for the withering gaze proc, that champ is out of stun. I will either use BnS or WG for the damage bonus, but not both, so I can get the kill in one stun.
You would stun the champ with one of the weapons used to swap, it's all about optimization and I assume you could proc withering haze while charging up which adds to the fluidity of the perk@@ilosinski
Glacioclasm could actually be nasty with withering gaze. On fusions, you can precharge the shot, and withering gaze can still activate so it's faster procs then most other weapons cause you don't have to wait for the visual buff.
I get it in the linear since it’s 3rd column and you can still get a damage perk, but sacrificing that on the glacioclasm just doesn’t feel worth it to me.
I'd bet money that Lego will recommend Fluted Barrel, Projection Fuse, Under Pressure/Closing Time with a Charge Time MW (and is the roll I would keep if I liked high impacts for pvp but I'm more of a rapid/precision fan). This roll gives near 100 Range >and< Handling with 60-70 Stability iirc.
Withering gaze is rarely worth it on a heavy weapon, you're giving up a reload perk, where all of heavy weapon's DPS comes from, for a debuff that can be applied by a special weapon or your subclass kit. It's really not a good pick, jsut use a special weapon with it if you desperately need it or want ut

I think withering gaze will shine best on something like a scout or a void rocket sidearm. A weapon you can start the damage rotation with so everything after flows better. Having to pause to wait for the perk to activate will drastically throw off timing especially in gms and solo top tier content. I wish this perk worked similarly to chill clip, where the top half of ammo applied weaken instead of having to pause before shooting.
For Stay Frosty, I’ll naturally go for Rimestealer Headstone, but I’m still glad I kept an old old roll of Thresh and Golden Tricorn. Better still that the old roll there is able to be enhanced as well.

Mistral Lift Small Bore, Accelerated Coil, Withering Gaze, Frenzy with a Stability Masterwork. Looking at this for my utility Roll, that way I get 100 Handling and Reload Speed. That way I can focus on the other stats. Otherwise, Fluted Barrel, Accelerated Coil, Envious Arsenal, Bait and Switch.
I have been sitting on the auto loading + cascade roll for a long time. Glad it was at least mentioned. Although part of me wishes bungie would get more experimental with perks on niche weapon types. LMGs for the most part boil down to you're a "thunderlord kid", for whatever reason you just don't like explosive based heavies regardless of how good they are at any given time, or you love running double special so the LMG is basically your primary. We need more perks that shake up the game for lmgs as a whole just like swords, glaives, and bows all need new perks specifically for them not just another drawtime scaler perk or a perk that is very specifically tied to melees but doesn't interact well with glaive melees. Its a space magic game, do something magical with the perks. While I'm talking about this its a crime that bungie doesn't make new weapons to go with reprised season weapons because imagine we got a season of the dawn themed glaive wth the origin trait. It could have been modeled after the twilight arsenal axe and had something like swashbuckler and close to melee together. Would have been sick.

What nobody is talking about in the community that I’ve seen is Bungie quietly added a seventh perk this season in 3rd and 4th columns to further increase the weapon grind to piggyback off of your Bungie doesn’t listen to the community video from the other day. 1/49 chance instead of 1/36
What if u don't want to use a sniper U can't say "oh don't use that just use this AND that" because the sniper isn't the best and only have use when your doing dps with it after your heavy, which u can use an exotic primary and get more
I have an encore headstone stay frosty which feels great, but looking to upgrade to a rhimestealer headstone. One other reason i feel like these weapons are worth the grind is the buffed origin trait. now its not kills within a short time, but just kills in general, and that present gives you energy to all your abilities, health, AND starts health regen. just feel so great to use in PVE
I'm gonna be going for the LFR and the Glacioclasm with Withering Gaze. I already have 3 Stay Frosty's, one being the original version, and the other two being from last year. I already have an Albedo Wing that I really love, so I'm not interested. I wish Cold Front got some love(should be Stasis imo w chill clip), but there's always that one event weapon left out for some reason, like Horror Story from the recent FOTL(it wasn't even enhancable lmao). I already have a good Avalanche, but maybe I can snag another idk. At least there will be cookies and snowballs😂
If I am not mistaken, they update all fusions and accelerated doesn’t decrease dps? I forget if that change was applied to heavy linear fusion rifles tho

i want the auto loading/incan roll for avalance. Did not get it last year sadly (wouldve been real handy during season of the wish) I got the sub/incan roll but thats just not it imho. doenst play very wel.
I would argue avalanche has always been good but not meta defining. I mean you gotta think people actively ignored the one that dropped from trials because they already had avalanche. Plus people need to stop sleeping on the one that dropped from the last episode and fixed odds. Both are pretty ok in terms of heavies you don't really have to think about but aren't exactly redefining the meta.

Withering gaze on a heavy is such a waste of a perk, HIR doesnt benefit Glacio at all, the MW you want for Mistral Lift is Charge Time so it doesnt hit your damage and either enhanced battery or ionized for the extra round in the mag. The ALH, Cascade roll for the GL is buns when Chill Inhibitor Cascade/BnS exists which is also a better frame than adaptive

Withering gaze is very good on a high impact fusion, because of the charge time it will be the fastest you can pull the trigger on any gun with that perk

The dungeon fusion has what you want. But this is a nice replacement for people who don't have the dungeon
The one from Vespers dungeon was too much of hit marker machine in PvP. Glacio always seems to slap especially from distance

If you play fusion rifles you should know that you charge at the hip and quickly ADS when you fire.

You definitely want Closing Time on any new PvP special weapons. CT gives some massive buffs that shouldn't be overlooked
