    I think I've seen like 5-6 videos today from your youtube channel hahaha, I've never received such good lessons about FM and I'm personally finding it quite good. Thanks for this content! I always wanted to know how tactics really works on FM and the more videos I see the closer I am to understand the game.

    Wow, a very clear and concise video. I found it very easy to understand and it works perfectly with the previous episode. Thanks once, as again I've found both parts very helpful!

    Thank you for the precious video, I'm currently struggling on my defensive line trying to combine a "defensive" team mindset with a higher defensive block

    The two defenders in the first tactic (5-2-1-2) should be of stopper duty so as to intercept wide balls when the wing backs are missing in action.

    Nailed it once again. I find the low block quite effective in this edition. Force them out on the flanks and force them to put in shit crosses, get the ball back and BANG! Playing this with Atletico Madrid as they have the perfect players for it (intelligent defenders, workhorses in midfield and pacey skillfull attackers) and ripping Real and Barcelona apart. Cholo would be proud of our gritty performances 😂 Also, with a side like Atletico you need flexibility, because they are a top division club and more often than not you need to switch to a more aggressive style to break the underdogs, so this gives me the opportunity to also toy around with high compression systems.
    Last but not least, I absolutely NEVER touch the closing down bar. I find the split pressing and the OI's much more effective.

      The mid and the low blocks are very strong

    Does force opponent outside also works when my team is pressing in the opponent half? i.e My forward will try to force their defender to pass the ball to their flanks instead of looking for central playmaker.

    Is it a problem if you have too many opposition players on press. I can sometimes have it very high, I don't know what the downside to this is?

  • @ThisDoctorKnows
    @ThisDoctorKnows 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question. So if I scout a team and find that their defenders and some midfielders are weak on the ball and have bad passing, might a good strategy be to set line of engagement and defense high so that I can press them in their part of the field and cause trouble? I’m essence, I would see the defense as the weak link and try to force more mistakes in defense. Is that a good approach in that scenario?
    I am still learning soccer strategy and am new to the game. Thanks

      you could do that or you could use opposition instruction to target specific players

    I play a 4231 with West Ham ⚒ using a mid/low block.. I don’t use regroup or counter press but I have the front 4 on ‘close down more’ and ‘mark tighter’ trying to achieve an effective press from the front but keeping the back half organised.. is this a good way to go? Thanks another great vid 👊🏻

    But having two players closing down on one opponent isn't what we want if we want to counterattack? I'm trying to understand why my gegenpress sucks

  • @ThisDoctorKnows
    @ThisDoctorKnows 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another question: under what condition would you set your pressing intensity to normal or low? Don’t you always want your players to press with maximum intensity?

    • @Jur1_00
      @Jur1_00 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I always set the team pressing to normal and apply the split block; what that does is allow the front players to press so they can try and win the ball or delay counter-attacks while the rest of the team gets into defensive position to shut down passing lanes so that the opposition is forced to play it long. If I set the team pressing to the maximum you would have that situation where 2 or 3 players are closing down one person and it leaves space all over the pitch so it's not effective unless maybe you are the better team. As far as asking them to press less I would never do that unless maybe I'm watching the game and I see that my full-back is closing down too early and getting skimmed every time then I'll probably set that player to close less but tackle hard

    Why can’t these Nottingham Forest lads keep possession in the enemy half? Is this formation related? Not enough men in the middle?
    I’m asking because I can clearly see three forwards, surely capable of pressing the d-line.

    The game's unplayable until they fix the player ratings bugs.
